This paper develops a fully operator-theoretic account of quantum measurement and the Born rule within a constrained dynamical framework given by a coupled Dirac–Λ system. In this Tier-1 setting, a reversible Dirac carrier is coupled to an independent irreversible (record) channel through a scale-by-scale capacity inequality enforced via a Karush–Kuhn–Tucker (KKT) structure and a fixed ultraviolet anchor. All spectral schemes and determinant prescriptions are globally fixed and non-tunable. The main results are: • A canonical record (pointer) algebra defined intrinsically as the fixed-point algebra of the modular automorphism group of the saturated stationary state. No external measurement basis is inserted. • A quantitative convexity gap showing that persistent record-coherence carries strictly positive Dirac-side capacity cost. At any active (saturated) scale, complementary slackness forces record-diagonality. Collapse is therefore enforced as a feasibility condition, not postulated. • A rigidity theorem showing that modular implementability of the linearized saturation dynamics forces Hilbert (GNS/L²) geometry, excluding non-Hilbert Schatten p-structures and fixing the quadratic Born exponent. • A derivation of the Born rule as the unique positive, normalized, unitarily covariant bounded linear functional on pointer projections once L² geometry is enforced. • A quantitative irreversible activation cost at measurement, including ultraviolet and infrared asymptotics and a capacity-limited decoherence rate bound with 1/T suppression in the infrared regime. The framework is falsifiable: violations of the capacity inequality, failure of the ultraviolet anchor, instability of the saturated configuration, deviation from quadratic Born weights, or absence of the predicted infrared suppression regime would disconfirm the model. This work does not rely on interpretational postulates and does not invoke collapse as an axiom. Measurement and Born probabilities emerge structurally from saturation geometry within a capacity-limited reversible/irreversible coupling.

This work provides a structural derivation of the quadratic form of the Born rule in quantum mechanics. Rather than postulating the probability rule as a foundational axiom, the paper proves that the exponent governing quantum probabilities is uniquely fixed by stability, contractivity, and duality requirements imposed on admissible physical laws. The analysis is carried out within a general operator-theoretic and law-space framework, in which physical laws are treated as fixed points of recursive generative dynamics. By combining strict contractive flow (Kappa Law), topological rigidity (Law of Endogenous Constraint), and algebra–geometry duality (Monad Duality), the paper demonstrates that only the Hilbert–Schmidt geometry is compatible with global stability of law evolution. As a consequence, the quadratic probability rule emerges as a rigid structural invariant rather than a free modeling choice. The result implies that any hypothetical modification of quantum theory based on non-quadratic probability rules would necessarily violate at least one of the fundamental structural requirements of admissible physical law, such as uniform contractivity, spectral stability, or duality consistency. Relation to Tier-1 dynamical formulation: This work develops a law-level (structural) resolution of the Born exponent. A complementary Tier-1 dynamical realization, formulated entirely within a constrained operator framework and independent of law-level recursion language, is developed in: J. Rodgers, Saturation Geometry and the Structural Emergence of Measurement and the Born Rule in a Capacity-Constrained Dirac–Λ System, Zenodo (2026).https://doi.org/10.5281/zenodo.18704783 The Tier-1 formulation may be read independently and derives the quadratic Born rule as a consequence of modular implementability and saturation geometry within the coupled Dirac–Λ system.
This preprint presents a complete and fully operator-theoretic resolution of the quantum measurement problem. Including collapse, the Born rule, the uniqueness of outcomes, and the irrelevance of observersm derived entirely from a universal structural principle called the lawhood identity. Rather than adding new physics, modifying the Schrödinger equation, introducing hidden variables, invoking many-worlds branching, or appealing to consciousness, this work shows that quantum measurement is a direct, unavoidable consequence of a general fixed-point law that applies to all stable physical systems. When instantiated for quantum mechanics, this law forces every genuine superposition to fail the criteria for being a physically lawful state. Collapse is not an extra postulate: it is structurally mandatory. Key results include: • The No-Superposition Theorem: All superpositions are proven to be structurally unlawful; they cannot survive the measurement map.• Mandatory Collapse: Collapse emerges automatically from the composition of three physical operators (boundary, decoherence, and closure), without modifying quantum dynamics.• Derivation of the Born Rule: The familiar probabilities arise uniquely from the internal consistency of the measurement operators. No additional assumptions, decision theory, or symmetry arguments are required.• Observer Independence: Awareness and measurement are formally separated. Collapse is a physical, observer-independent process; knowledge acquisition is epistemic, not causal.• Uniqueness of Outcomes: The framework proves that there is only one stable classical outcome for any initial quantum state, directly resolving the many-worlds branching issue.• Experimental Signatures: The formulation predicts measurable relationships involving entropy, decoherence rates, and effective dimensionality. This paper shows that the puzzles of quantum collapse, superposition, outcome selection, probability, and the apparent role of observers, are not mysteries requiring new interpretations. They are the natural consequences of a deeper structural principle that governs all lawful physical systems. Quantum mechanics, under this lens, becomes a specific case of a universal operator identity that determines which states can persist as stable reality. Readers will find a complete, logically self-contained argument, with theorems and proofs written in a way that does not rely on philosophical interpretation or speculative assumptions. The result is a clear and testable framework that resolves a problem that has persisted since the birth of quantum theory. This work is part of a broader research program developing the universal Tier-0 lawhood framework and the “Everything Equation,” which unifies stability, collapse, and fixed-point structure across physics, computation, thermodynamics, and information. Relation to Tier-1 dynamical formulation: This work develops a law-level (structural) resolution of quantum measurement. A complementary Tier-1 dynamical realization of these structural principles, formulated entirely within a constrained operator framework and independent of law-level recursion language, is developed in: J. We show that the quadratic measure associated with the Born rule need not be introduced as an independent probabilistic postulate, but follows, under the stated structural and regularity assumptions, from the compatibility between reversible linear evolution and the formation of stable records. Physical processes alternate between reversible dynamics and episodes of record formation. Quantities that remain well defined throughout such processes must therefore admit a representation that remains consistent across both regimes. Prior to record formation, alternatives combine additively at the level of complex amplitudes, whereas successive record-forming distinctions admit a multiplicative representation through refinement. Requiring compatibility between these compositional structures constrains the admissible weight assignment to the family of weights proportional to the pth power of the amplitude magnitude. The finite-dimensional specialization of Lamperti's isometry theorem then singles out p = 2 as the unique value compatible with continuous reversible linear mixing while preserving total weight. The Born rule therefore emerges as the unique weight assignment compatible with reversible linear composition, multiplicative record refinement, phase invariance, and continuous reversible invariance, without invoking probabilistic assumptions or a specific interpretation of quantum measurement.
Papers I and II derived gravitational geometry and second-order dynamics from finite accessibility without invoking measurement, observation protocols, or collapse as primitive notions. This paper extends the operational program to the measurement sector, deriving the structure of record formation and probabilistic weights from the same finite accessibility and compositional constraints. Finite accessibility restricts admissible operations on a subsystem to a proper operator subalgebra. Because bounded certification excludes operators requiring nonlocal coordination or arbitrarily fine phase resolution, the accessible algebra is strictly smaller than the full operator algebra. When a system becomes correlated with orthogonal environment sectors, off-diagonal operators between those sectors fall outside the accessible algebra. The reduced state is therefore indistinguishable, under all admissible operations, from its diagonal ensemble. Definiteness emerges as an algebraic consequence of sector restriction, not as a collapse postulate. The weights of these sectors are fixed uniquely by compositional consistency. Phase invariance, multiplicativity under independent refinement, and stability under record coarse-graining constrain any admissible assignment of sector weights to satisfy a functional equation whose only continuous, non-contextual solution is quadratic in amplitude. The Born rule therefore arises as the unique invariant measure compatible with finite accessibility. Irreversibility follows from action scaling: reversal requires operators outside the admissible tensor algebra and incurs action cost proportional to the number of correlated subsystems. Since admissible operations are bounded by the action gap, macroscopic record reversal is excluded. Measurement introduces no new physical primitives beyond finite accessibility, locality, and compositional stability. Record formation, classical definiteness, and Born probabilities are structural consequences of algebraic restriction under finite accessibility. **This paper is part of the Finite Accessibility series, which reconstructs gravitational geometry, quantum dynamics, gauge structure, cosmological perturbation theory, and the dark sector from a single operational primitive: a finite certification ceiling ω* governing the maximum rate at which physical relations can be maintained across extended domains.** **Introductory papers** - Geometric Limits to Coherent Timekeeping in Extended Reference Frames — https://doi.org/10.5281/zenodo.18824556 - Accessibility Selection Law (ASL) — https://doi.org/10.5281/zenodo.18824649 - Phase Boundary Gravity — https://doi.org/10.5281/zenodo.18824707 **Pillars (numbered I–IV)** - Paper I: Deriving Gravitational Geometry and Schrödinger Dynamics from Finite Accessibility — https://doi.org/10.5281/zenodo.18601600 - Paper II: Deriving Inertia, Motion, and Wave Propagation from Finite Accessibility — https://doi.org/10.5281/zenodo.18625174 - Paper III: Accessible State Spaces, Record Stability, and the Emergence of Quantum Statistics — https://doi.org/10.5281/zenodo.18625192 - Paper IV: Frame Dissolution, the Certification Ceiling, and Observable Deformations — https://doi.org/10.5281/zenodo.18654458 **Extension papers** - Dark Matter from Finite Accessibility — https://doi.org/10.5281/zenodo.18654433 - Dark Energy from Finite Accessibility — https://doi.org/10.5281/zenodo.18654523 - No-Go Theorems and the Admissibility Corridor — https://doi.org/10.5281/zenodo.18654493 - Gauge Structure from Finite Accessibility — https://doi.org/10.5281/zenodo.18928152 - Perturbation Theory from Finite Accessibility — https://doi.org/10.5281/zenodo.18928213 **Experimental paper** - Experimental Probes of Finite Accessibility: GW Dispersion and Vacuum Path Independence — https://doi.org/10.5281/zenodo.18931126 **Keywords:** Born rule derivation, measurement problem, quantum statistics, finite accessibility, operator subalgebra, record formation, definiteness emergence, wave function collapse, compositional consistency, accessible state spaces, action gap, irreversibility, sector restriction, quantum foundations, algebraic quantum mechanics, decoherence

The axiom. Irreducible statistical dependence implies a connecting structure. This is the foundational principle of causal inference, applied without exception—including to quantum entanglement. The variational formulation. The axiom is given mathematical form as a variational principle on bipartite quantum systems. The action S = ∫[i⟨Φ̇|Φ⟩ − ⟨Φ|(K_A + K_B)|Φ⟩]dτ has modular flow as its Euler–Lagrange equation, the local-unitary group U(d_A) × U(d_B) as its symmetry, and the entanglement spectrum as its conserved Noether charges. The local form of this conservation law is the spectral equivalence of reduced modular Hamiltonians, spec(K_A) = spec(K_B), which is the informational analog of Newton's third law; Newton's third law itself is recovered as a special case in the thermal limit. The action is shown to be uniquely determined—not chosen—by six published uniqueness theorems (Schmidt decomposition, Stone–Tomita–Takesaki, Aharonov–Anandan, bipartite splitting, internal-consistency state-preservation via Noether, Ostrogradsky stability). The dependence axiom is therefore not a philosophical commitment but a variational principle of the same kind as those that organize the rest of physics. The central new theorem. For any bipartite pure state, the Holevo capacity of the measurement-induced channel exactly equals the entanglement entropy, the maximum is uniquely achieved by Schmidt-basis measurement, and the excess capacity is identically zero (χ = I = S_E). This Capacity Saturation Theorem is the framework's quantitative foundation and follows from the variational structure. Derivations from saturation: The Born rule—derived as the unique probability rule compatible with capacity saturation, with an independent derivation from channel thermalization. Two distinct paths to the same result. The Tsirelson bound S_CHSH ≤ 2√2 derived as the matching point where simulation cost equals channel capacity. Einstein's field equations via Bisognano–Wichmann and Jacobson's thermodynamic construction, with quantum corrections of order O(exp(−A/16Għ)) from finite thermalization precision. The cosmological constant Λ = 12/(N·Għ·t²_age) ≈ 10⁻¹²¹ in Planck units—within one order of magnitude of the observed value ~10⁻¹²². Uses one observed input (the age of the universe) and the number of massless species; no free parameters. A 120-order-of-magnitude improvement over the QFT prediction. Additional theorems (50+ total): the Bekenstein–Hawking entropy, Hawking temperature, holographic bound, Bekenstein bound, generalized second law, classical area theorem, no-hair theorem, Page curve, firewall paradox resolution, prohibition of closed timelike curves, arrow of time, singularity resolution, two-phase inflation, flatness and horizon problem resolutions, Hubble parameter range, monogamy from information budget, fine-tuning resolution, Reeh–Schlieder, Kochen–Specker contextuality, quantum Zeno effect, no-signaling, CPT theorem, measurement without collapse, second law of entanglement thermodynamics, Landauer bound for entangled systems, vacuum channel capacity, entanglement–energy equivalence. Predictions: S_CHSH temporal decay; decoherence rate ≤ MSS bound; gravitational entanglement bound for BMV-class experiments; entanglement-triggered gravitational collapse; entanglement content of gravitational waves; exponential corrections to black hole entropy. What this paper claims. The paper introduces a variational principle that formalizes the dependence axiom, proves the action is forced (not chosen) by six published uniqueness theorems, derives the entanglement spectrum as a Noether charge, recovers Newton's third law as a special case in the thermal limit, and shows that the resulting framework unifies quantum foundations, quantum information, general relativity, and cosmology under a single organizing principle. The contribution is both new mathematics—most notably the Capacity Saturation Theorem, the variational formulation with its uniqueness chain, and the cosmological constant prediction—and structural unification across results previously developed in disconnected subfields. The framework is presented as a compression of known physics with one falsifiable prediction already passed (Λ to within an order of magnitude, zero free parameters) and several further predictions proposed. No established result in quantum mechanics, general relativity, or quantum information theory is contradicted. Correspondence: student_t_vs_bohr@proton.me
