Abstract

How does a purely geometric projection — without Hilbert space, tensor products, or the Born rule — recover the exact quantum correlation E(a,b) = −cos θ and saturate Tsirelson's bound 2√2?We derive both results from the involution φ(x) = 9 − x on the digit alphabet {1, …, 9}, which generates four inversion pairs summing to 9 with barycenter μ = 4.5 and projection constant k_arc = 1/2. A hidden variable λ emitted by the source is projected sequentially onto detector axes a and b, each projection costing k_arc = 1/2. The product of two such projections yields E(a,b) = −cos θ, matching the quantum prediction exactly. The CHSH sum of four correlations at optimal angles gives S = 2√2, saturating Tsirelson's bound. The projection constant k_arc = 1/2 is established by seven independent paths: (I) global — barycenter over closure, 4.5/9; (II) local — half-span of the maximal pair, 3.5/7; (III) per-pair — every inversion pair individually encodes half-span/span = 1/2; (IV) positional — exact center of the sequence 1–8, with four elements on each side; (V) cadastral — the barycenters of the three row-pairs {2,4}, {5,7}, {8,1} average to 4.5; (VI) geometric — the interface mirror 11 divided by π = 22/7 gives 3.5, then 3.5/7 = 1/2; (VII) linker — 5.5/11 = 1/2, the barycenter of the phase cycle over the interface operator. Seven paths, sharing neither data nor method, converging to the same constant. This excludes numerical coincidence. No Hilbert space is assumed. No tensor product is constructed. No Born rule is invoked. The correlation is geometric, not probabilistic.New in v4.0: We add the complete arithmetic foundation — the Universal Fold Theorem proving that every multiplication table folds into inversion pairs summing to 9, the visual multiplication table mirrors, and the proof that base 10 is not arbitrary. We introduce entanglement as bipolar inversion: if x + φ(x) = 9, knowing x determines φ(x) instantaneously at any distance — not by causal signal but by structural constraint. This is quantum entanglement without mystery. Einstein's objection to "spooky action at a distance" is resolved: the correlation is not action, it is structure. The minimum of relation is 2 = DR(11), the interface operator — the smallest cost of knowing the other. Keywords: Tsirelson's bound, quantum correlations, Bell inequality, CHSH, geometric projection, hidden variables, digital roots, inversion symmetry, entanglement, EPR, sevenfold convergence.

The Tsirelson Bound as Measurement Geometry of the Existence Equation

Jae-Ahn Shin

Evidence Paper VI of the Existence Equation series. From Born rule to Bell inequality: one observer to two. In the parent work (The Existence Equation), the Born rule P = |Ψ|² is not an axiom but a derived consequence: the condensation term α|Ψ|²Ψ projects the continuous phase of the deviation field onto discrete binary outcomes (±1), and time-averaging the projected phase recovers cos θ correlations — verified by simulation on a 256³ lattice (hydrogen s-orbital, 30,000 steps). The Born rule emerges from the measurement geometry of one observer. If the Born rule for one observer is a consequence of ED's condensation mechanism, then for two observers sharing a single conserved field (Ψ_A + Ψ_B = 0), the Tsirelson bound S = 2√2 follows as pure measurement geometry. The Bell inequality violation is not a separate mystery — it is the natural two-observer extension of the same mechanism that produces the Born rule. Input: 2 items. The structural reading of Bell violation: Standard quantum mechanics treats the Born rule as an axiom and calculates 2√2 through Hilbert space operator norms. The Existence Equation derives the Born rule from condensation, then explains 2√2 as the geometric consequence of applying that same mechanism to two observers sharing a conserved field. The Bell inequality violation is not evidence for non-locality — it is evidence for non-separability of a single conserved deviation field. The Bell inequality violation is not spooky. It is geometric. It measures the diagonal of the binary measurement lattice. The Bridge Hippasus–Tsirelson — How a Misread Diagonal Hid Quantum Geometry for 2500 Years

Filipe Bastos

Around 450 BCE, Hippasus of Metapontum computed the diagonal of the unit square and found it incommensurable with the side. The ratio √2 could not be expressed as a quotient of integers. According to tradition, he drowned for this discovery, and the category of irrational number entered mathematics as a negative qualification — a magnitude that fails to be a ratio of integers, evaluated against an arithmetical frame that was preserved unchanged. Twenty-five centuries later, in 1980, Boris Tsirelson proved that the maximum quantum correlation in the CHSH setup is exactly 2√2. Experiments from Alain Aspect (1982) to the loophole-free tests that earned the 2022 Nobel Prize in Physics have repeatedly confirmed this bound with increasing precision. It is one of the most precisely measured numbers in modern physics, and one of the most opaque to interpretation. This paper establishes that these two √2 are not independent. They are the same diagonal of the same square. Hippasus isolated the ratio from its geometric context; had he kept it in context, he would have seen that the diagonal of the square is the diameter of its circumscribed circle. This identity is elementary and verifiable by compass. Yet its consequences were never drawn — and the resulting arithmetical amnesia, extended by Stevin's decimal notation in 1585 and by Gauss's modular convention 9 ≡ 0 in 1801, has shaped Western mathematics ever since. The Tsirelson bound admits the exact factorization S_max = N × k_arc × d = 4 × (1/2) × √2 = 2√2, where each factor originates in a single geometric object: the square with its circumscribed circle. The four measurement configurations of CHSH form the vertices of a square. The constant 1/2 is the universal projection cost from the continuous sphere S² to the binary outcome {+1, −1}, derivable independently from Haar integration on S² and from the involution φ(x) = 9 − x on the cadastral set {1,...,8}. The √2 is the diagonal of the CHSH square — the same √2 Hippasus computed. The full geometric derivation is presented as an alternative to the standard Hilbert-space framework. Alice and Bob share a relational state λ uniformly distributed on the unit sphere S² (Haar measure). Alice measures A = sgn(a·λ); the state updates deterministically to λ' = −A·a; Bob measures B = sgn(b·λ'). This deterministic protocol reproduces the singlet correlation E(a,b) = −cos θ_ab exactly, and the CHSH bound 2√2 exactly, without invoking Hilbert space, operator algebras, or the Born rule. The bound is therefore a property of the projection geometry S² → Z₂, not of the quantum formalism. Five conjectures extend the geometric reading from CHSH to other quantum phenomena: spin 1/2 as the cadastral projection constant, Heisenberg uncertainty as minimal projection cost, the Born rule as statistical fingerprint of dimensional compression S² → Z₂, entanglement as simultaneous reading of a shared relational state rather than non-local communication, and quantum mechanics as cadastral geometry read at the scale where the cadastral structure is directly accessible to measurement. Section 7 generalizes the cadastral reading to higher Bell inequalities. The I3322 quantum bound, computed numerically by Pál and Vértesi (2010) at approximately 0.25087538, is identified as the cadastrally closed rational value 2 × k_arc³ = 1/4. The decimal tail is interpreted as a Stevin-representation artifact of a structurally closed ratio. The exponent of k_arc tracks the combinatorial depth of the measurement protocol: k_arc¹ for CHSH (two settings), k_arc³ for I3322 (three settings), generalizable to higher Bell inequalities. The framework is falsifiable on multiple channels: violation of 2√2 in CHSH, alternative geometric factorizations, base-dependent variations of the projection constant, deviations from 1/4 in high-precision numerical computations of I3322. Forty-four years of CHSH experiments have consistently approached 2√2 without violating it. The paper closes the historical arc opened by Hippasus's drowning. The √2 he isolated was not an irrational number to be tolerated within a frame that could not contain it. It was a closed geometric ratio between identified structural elements of a single figure, exact and verifiable by compass. Reading 2√2 as the geometric signature of the CHSH square restores what was lost when number was severed from structure. The mystery was never in the physics. It was in the arithmetical amnesia we inherited from a 2500-year-old misreading.

3 Quantum Entanglement and the Tsirelson Bound(260524.3)

guobin ouyang

Based on the three axioms of Geometric Theory and all theorems in the 0.X series, this article reconstructs the theory of quantum entanglement with zero external assumptions. The work includes: (I) Within the framework of holographic screen pixel structure, strictly deriving the minimum resolvable angle Δξmin=π/(2√λ2); (II) Establishing the geometric definition of entanglement—two S-minima on the geometric constraint section Ση achieve geometric maximum entanglement through I-sector freezing and M-sector antipodal locking; (III) Proving the two-level theorem—the low-energy excitation space of a geometric maximum entanglement pair is exactly 2-dimensional, with its ground state spanned by the first zonal harmonic function of the M-sector; (IV) Under the physical mapping convention, deriving the correlation function C(→a,→b)=−→a⋅→b, where the readout directions →a,→b are unit vectors on the M-sector S3; (V) In the hypothetical limit λ2→∞, proving information field localization and that the algebraic upper limit of the CHSH combination is 2; (VI) With finite λ2 and accepting the correlation mapping, proving that the supremum of the CHSH combination is 2√2, with equality conditions →b1⊥→b2 and →a1∥(→b1+→b2), →a2∥(→b1−→b2); (VII) Under the external input assumption of double-slit topological defects, proving that a single S-minimum flowing around the double-slit topological defects produces a phase difference Δϕ=√λ1ΔL, with fringe spacing Δx=2πL/(√λ1d), and providing numerical verification after dimensional bridge conversion. The full text does not use wave function assumptions, does not use Bell's original derivation, and does not introduce Planck's constant as an external input.

From Primitives to the Bell–Tsirelson Bound

Allen Proxmire

In 1964, John Bell showed that any local hidden‑variable theory must satisfy a specific inequality on correlations between distant measurements. In its CHSH form (Clauser, Horne, Shimony, Holt 1969), the inequality reads |S| = |E(a,b) + E(a,b′) + E(a′,b) − E(a′,b′)| ≤ 2, where E(a,b) is the correlation between measurement outcomes at two separated parties using settings a and b. Any local realist theory respects this bound. Quantum mechanics violates it. Experiments confirm the violation. The standard quantum prediction for a maximally entangled state with optimal measurement angles is |S| = 2√2 ≈ 2.828. In 1980, Boris Tsirelson proved that 2√2 is not just one quantum prediction — it is the *maximum* value any quantum correlation can produce. No quantum state, no measurement scheme, no clever protocol can push |S| beyond 2√2. The bound is sharp, the value is exact, and it has been measured in laboratories around the world to experimental precision. The Tsirelson bound is one of the deepest empirical structures in physics. It tells us that quantum correlations exceed classical correlations by a specific, finite amount — there is room to violate Bell’s inequality, but only so much room. The number 2√2 has no obvious physical interpretation. It does not appear in the formulation of quantum mechanics. It emerges from the mathematics of the bipartite Hilbert space when the CHSH operator is constructed and bounded. The question is where it comes from. In standard QM, the answer is that it falls out of the Hilbert‑space structure plus Cauchy–Schwarz plus an operator‑norm bound on the CHSH operator. Technically correct, and Tsirelson’s 1980 proof remains the canonical derivation — but it leaves the deeper structure unanswered. The Hilbert space is postulated. The inner product that makes Cauchy–Schwarz available is postulated. The bipartite tensor‑product structure on H_A ⊗ H_B is postulated. The 2√2 value is what those postulates produce when run through the CHSH operator. This walkthrough shows how the Event Density framework derives the Tsirelson bound from a smaller set of structural commitments. The Hilbert‑space structure, the inner product, and the bipartite tensor‑product structure all emerge as forced consequences of the substrate ontology rather than being postulated. With those structures forced rather than assumed, Tsirelson’s 1980 argument applies directly, and the 2√2 value is no longer the output of a chain of postulates but the output of a chain of derived theorems. Like Heisenberg, Bell–Tsirelson is a place where the framework’s contribution is upstream. The bound itself is mathematical physics already in the literature; what changes is the foundational status of the structures the argument requires. ED does not produce a new derivation step beyond standard QM here — it removes the postulational status of the structures the standard derivation already uses. The 2√2 value is now a derived consequence of the substrate ontology, all the way down.

FINDING: CHSH correlations are bounded by Tsirelson's 2√2, and a 2025 reformulation derives this bound from indivisible stochastic processes via causal locality rather than no-signaling alone. | MATH: CHSH operator S = A₀B₀ + A₀B₁ + A₁B₀ − A₁B₁; classical (local hidden variable) bound |S| ≤ 2; quantum (Tsirelson) bound |S| ≤ 2√2 ≈ 2.828427. Tsirelson Bound as Qubit Geometry's Unit Square Diagonal — E8 Intelligence Research

Andrew Stewart Caldin

FINDING: The Tsirelson bound (2√2 ≈ 2.828) for CHSH quantum correlations emerges from the geometric structure of the qubit manifold, specifically tied to the unit square's diagonal and rotation matrices in SU(2). | MATH: CHSH classical bound = 2; quantum bound = 2√2 = √(2² + 2²) — the diagonal of a unit square. Rotation matrix R(θ) = [[cosθ, −sinθ], [sinθ, cosθ]]; Pauli matrices σ_x, σ_y, σ_z generate SU(2) with quaternion equivalence (iσ_x, iσ_y, iσ_z ↔ i, j, k). The bound arises from maximal angle between measurement bases: θ = π/4, giving cos(π/4) = sin(π/4) = 1/√2 = 0.7071. | CONNECTION: **Direct geometric harmony**: 2√2 = 2 × 1.414 = 2 × √2. The ratio 1/√2 = 0.7071 is the sine/cosine at 45°, and its reciprocal √2 = 1.414. Note: 1/√2 ≈ 0.7071, and 1 − 1/√2 ≈ 0.2929; the golden ratio φ = 1.618 satisfies φ − 1/φ = 1, but here the key is √2, not φ. However, **2√2 = 2.828** and **2.828 − 1.618 = 1.210** (no direct φ link).
Maximal violation angle: measurement settings at 45° increments (π/4), giving correlation E(θ) = −cos(2θ) for singlet state, yielding S = 2√2. | CONNECTION: 2√2 = 2·√2 is the diagonal of a 2×2 square (Pythagorean), and √2 is the fundamental ratio of the square lattice / octahedral root system B₂. The factor 2√2 = √8 relates to the 45° rotation symmetry of the CHSH setting plane. No direct appearance of 0.618/1.618 family, but the extremal configuration is a 45°-rotated square — a crystallographic C₄ symmetry. | DEPTH: 7 FINDING: Loophole-free photonic entanglement has been demonstrated over ~1200 km via satellite (Micius), with detector efficiency Author: Andrew Stewart Caldin, Independent Researcher, UK.
