Admissibility Physics — Quantum Structure from Finite Enforceability (Paper 5) This Zenodo community collects research outputs associated with Admissibility Physics, with primary focus on Paper 5 — Quantum Structure from Finite Enforceability and the derivation of quantum mechanics as an admissible representational regime. Paper 5 shows that the mathematical structure of quantum mechanics—Hilbert space, linearity, inner products, tensor products, unitary evolution, CPTP maps, and the Born rule—is not postulated, but forced by admissibility once coherent, jointly enforceable distinctions exist under finite correlation capacity. Quantum structure emerges as the unique bookkeeping required to represent interference, refinement, and recombination while preserving admissibility. The derivation does not assume probability, measurement postulates, dynamics, or spacetime geometry. Probability enters only as a secondary representation, with the Born rule arising uniquely from admissibility invariance and refinement consistency. Measurement is treated as a regime transition associated with saturation and record formation, not as a fundamental collapse mechanism. Quantum mechanics is shown to be conditionally valid: exact in regimes where coherence and non-saturation permit admissible composition, and structurally inapplicable where capacity is exhausted. Monogamy, entanglement limits, and decoherence follow from non-closure under composition and finite interface capacity, rather than from quantum axioms. All subsequent works in this community rely on the quantum-admissible representation established in Paper 5. Later papers show how variational dynamics and spacetime geometry arise as further conditional representations layered on top of quantum structure, and how quantum description itself fails at saturation boundaries, horizons, and measurement-like events. This community serves as a curated, citable archive centered on the derivation and limits of quantum structure within Admissibility Physics. Paper 5 functions as the representational keystone of the program: the point at which finite enforceability yields the quantum formalism without postulation. Core papers are frozen where noted; companion papers, mathematical appendices, figures, and computational artifacts document derivations, regime conditions, and testable consequences.

Technical Supplement to Paper 5 of the Admissibility Physics Framework (APF), Quantum Structure as Least-Cost Admissible Bookkeeping. Paper 5 derives the complete quantum formalism — linearity, complex Hilbert space, tensor products, Born's rule, unitary and CPTP dynamics, measurement as class change, spectral-action internalisation, and UV-completion closure — from PLEC (A1, MD, A2, BW) plus the capacity quantization Ctot = 61, deff = 102 imported from Papers 1–4. The supplement provides self-contained proofs of the theorems compressed to sketch form in the main paper. Linearity from coherent-distinction closure. Tlinearity: if sector states |ψ1⟩, |ψ2⟩ are admissible and coherent-distinction-closed, then their normalised linear combination α|ψ1⟩ + β|ψ2⟩ with |α|2 + |β|2 = 1 is admissible. Complex Hilbert space. THilbert: the state space is a complex Hilbert space ℋ with inner product induced by the cost functional, and the field selection 𝔽 = ℂ is inherited from Paper 1's field-selection tier. Tensor product. Ttensor: composite systems factorise as ℋAB = ℋA ⊗ ℋB under admissibility of joint distinction. Born's rule. TBorn: measurement outcome probabilities are Pr(k | ρ) = Tr(Pk ρ) with {Pk} the projective decomposition operators corresponding to admissible partition classes — derived, not postulated. Unitary and CPTP dynamics. THermitian and TCPTP: admissible state evolution is Hermitian-generated for closed systems and CPTP for open systems, both from minimum-cost bookkeeping. Measurement as class change. Tdecoherence: measurement is the transition from an admissible coherent superposition to an admissible classical register, formalised as a class change on the equivalence structure of admissible states. Spectral-action internalisation. Lspectral_action_internal: the Connes spectral action coincides with the APF partition function under the Boltzmann cutoff. Full proof in Paper 7 Technical Supplement §S.4. UV-completion closure. LQG_P1_closure: the admissibility framework remains consistent under Paper 1's structural extension to UV scales. Explicit countermodels exclude the main published quantum-reconstruction alternatives (Hardy 2001, Masanes–Müller 2011, d'Ariano–Chiribella–Perinotti 2010, Rovelli relational). Technical Supplement to Paper 5 of the Admissibility Physics Framework (APF), Quantum Structure as Least-Cost Admissible Bookkeeping. v5.97 (April 2026), 157pp, 36 sections, 235 theorem-class environments, 59 bibitems. The supplement gives a finite-regime reconstruction of the Hilbert–Born formalism from APF's enforcement-substance primitives: complex Hilbert space, the Born trace rule, tensor products, CPTP dynamics, and measurement as record-locking, all derived rather than postulated. Headline result. The Hilbert–Born endpoint is licensed by a chain of finite, certifiable gates traceable to a single APF primitive — closed-world ledger conservation paired with no-phantom-records. The framework derives what canonical quantum-reconstruction programs (Hardy 2001; Chiribella–D'Ariano–Perinotti 2011; Masanes–Müller 2011; Barnum–Wilce 2014) postulate. Core spine (sections in order): Quantum Admissibility Condition (QAC) — produced at branch-(IJC) record-complete coherent interfaces; coherent continuations whose Boolean record-locking incurs strictly positive preservation distortion. Branch taxonomy Sepstr / Sepadm / IJCstr / IJCadm / IJCpres / Seppres with forced inclusions Sepadm ⇒ Sepstr, IJCstr ⇒ IJCadm, and explicit anti-conflation: capacity-only failure (Sepstr + IJCadm) is structurally classical and does NOT trigger QAC. Operational radical via no-phantom-record quotient — every element of the operational radical does no record-distinguishing work and is quotient-eliminable; a Wedderburn bridge identifies ϱop = Jac(𝒜) under stable-simple completeness. Finite matrix-sector representation — the faithful semisimple quotient enters a finite ⊕-of-matrix-blocks structure via Artin–Wedderburn applied to the closed-world quotient. Field selection by SPLIT closed-world composite gates — APF-complete composite closure decomposes into two independently-derivable conditions: (i) finite tensor closure (rules out ℍ structurally because Mn(ℍ) ⊗ℝ Mm(ℍ) ≅ M2nm(ℝ), not quaternionic), and (ii) finite tomographic locality (rules out ℝ via Wootters–Hardy local-marginal parameter count: 2×2 joint dimension 10 < locally-reconstructible 15). ℂ is the unique field passing both legs; the selection is a conjunction of independently-derivable conditions, not a single black-box axiom. Born trace rule ⟨E, ρ⟩ = Tr(ρE) — every positive linear functional on Mn(ℂ) is a density-matrix-and-effect pairing; trace-rule positivity is licensed by upstream cone-preservation. Gate-certified Hilbert–Born pipeline — composite meta-theorem: four gates (positivity preservation under quotient + closed-ledger reciprocity + operational-radical-equals-Jacobson + split closed-world complex selection) jointly license the H–B endpoint. Each gate is independently necessary; no single gate is redundant. If any gate fails, the framework stops at the corresponding fallback rather than silently importing quantum formalism. The derivation chain. The standard "regime gates" — reciprocal calibration → self-duality + adjoint, stable simple-record completeness, APF-complete finite composite closure → ℂ selection — are not independent postulates. They are joint consequences of closed-world ledger conservation + no-phantom-records: Tclosed-ledger reciprocity derives reciprocal calibration → adjoint from no-hidden-debt symmetric pairing B(p, m) = ∑ pi mi on a finite ledger; the adjoint is the swap partner under B, not a postulated involution. Tno-phantom-record quotient + Toperational-radical-equals-Jacobson derive stable simple-record completeness on 𝒜 = ℝ[x]/(x3), giving a quotient 𝒜/(x) ≅ ℝ that is semisimple and eligible for matrix-sector classification. Tsplit-closed-world-complex-selection derives ℂ-selection through the explicit split into tensor closure + tomographic locality. Six countermodels and red-team. Explicit countermodels for Weinberg non-linear quantum mechanics, real-amplitude QM, Bohmian mechanics, Kochen–Specker hidden variables, GRW/CSL collapse, quaternionic QM. Red-team analyses for the three paper-specific hypotheses (H1 coherent-distinction closure, H2 tensor-product admissibility, H3 spectral-action compatibility). Description This paper develops a formal calculus of admissible correlation, providing the technical backbone for a constraint-first approach to physical description. Building on a conceptual framework in which enforceability and finite correlation capacity are taken as primitive structural requirements, the present work makes these notions explicit, operational, and compositional. Correlations are treated as primitive relational constraints enforced across interfaces endowed with finite capacity. Admissibility is defined as joint enforceability under these capacity limits and is shown to be inherently non-closed under composition. Correlation capacity is formalized as a finite, interface-localized resource whose saturation and redistribution determine which correlation sets can coherently exist. This yields a precise, pre-dynamical criterion for physical feasibility that precedes probability, stability, and dynamical law. Within this calculus, regime transitions arise when admissible correlation sets change due to capacity reallocation rather than dynamical evolution. The ordered loss of descriptive structures—global states, subsystem factorization, metric geometry, and time itself—is characterized as a consequence of finite enforceability rather than as a breakdown of physical law. Geometry emerges as an efficient representation of coordination cost where capacity gradients are smooth, while entropy is identified with interface capacity governing record formation and exclusion. The calculus introduces no new dynamics, modifies no existing physical theories, and commits to no microscopic ontology. Its role is structural: to delineate the kinematic envelope within which any coherent physical dynamics must operate. Quantum mechanics and general relativity are shown to function as admissibility-preserving frameworks within the regimes where their descriptive assumptions remain enforceable. This work is intended to stand alone as a technical contribution while serving, together with its companion foundational paper, to clarify the limits of physical description and the conditions under which familiar physical structures emerge, persist, and fail. About the series. Admissibility Physics derives the Standard Model gauge group, fermion content, quantum formalism, Lorentzian spacetime, the Einstein field equations, the cosmological constant, and the neutrino, strong-CP, and dark sectors from a single assumption — that enforcement is finite at every causally connected region — with zero free parameters. The core derivation runs Papers 0–11; the extension papers carry the individual sectors. Admissibility Physics — Entropy, Time, and Accumulated Cost (Ledger Works) This Zenodo community collects research outputs associated with Admissibility Physics, with primary focus on Paper 3 — Entropy, Time, and Accumulated Cost as Capacity Accounting and the ledger structure it establishes. Paper 3 introduces the accounting layer of the framework. Building on the finite enforceability principle (Paper 1) and non-closure under composition (Paper 2), it defines entropy as irreversibly committed correlation capacity at interfaces. Entropy is not treated as uncertainty, probability, or coarse-grained ignorance, but as a pre-probabilistic ledger quantity: capacity that has been committed to stabilizing distinctions and can no longer be freely reallocated. From this definition, Paper 3 derives irreversibility as a structural consequence of record formation. When correlations become redundantly enforced across interfaces, the capacity supporting them becomes locked, restricting future admissible configurations. The accumulation of such irreversible commitments induces a partial ordering on admissible states, which is identified with time. Time is not assumed as a background parameter; it emerges wherever irreversible ledger commitments occur and is undefined where they do not. No assumptions are made about dynamics, spacetime geometry, probability, or quantum mechanics. The paper establishes the ledger constraints that any subsequent representation must respect, regardless of the formalism used. Area laws, saturation behavior, and Page-like transitions arise directly from interface-localized capacity and non-closure, without appeal to microstates or statistical ensembles. All subsequent works in this community rely on the ledger structure introduced in Paper 3. Later papers show how quantum probabilities, variational dynamics, and geometric description become admissible only in regimes where ledger commitments are smooth and locally additive, and how these representations fail at saturation boundaries, horizons, and measurement-like transitions. This community serves as a curated, citable archive centered on the ledger foundations of Admissibility Physics. Paper 3 functions as the accounting backbone of the program: the point at which finite enforceability becomes entropy, irreversibility, and temporal structure. Core papers are frozen where noted; companion papers, mathematical appendices, figures, and computational artifacts document derivations, regime conditions, and structural consequences.
This paper tells the quantum-mechanical account of Admissibility Physics in one place, from the first declared fact to the last committed record. From a single finite-capacity axiom (A1) plus one declared occupancy fact, the story runs through the Δ calculus that prices jointness (Δ = ε(J − R), derived, with two fences: Δ is not an information functional, and Δ > 0 is not a quantum criterion); the separable / irreducibly-joint fork, decided by an exact Boole-polytope feasibility test; the Boolean-defender bridge that forces noncommutativity where the global Boolean section fails; the gate pipeline that earns complex Hilbert space and the finite Born trace rule as endpoint theorems rather than postulates; the correlation ladder from product states to Tsirelson, with a native family ceiling 2√2·102/103 carried at honest reading grade with a live falsifier; resolution as a class transition, with the free/spend/permanent triad proved as a composition of banked theorems and measurement, decoherence, the Page curve, and the Diósi–Penrose scale as four worked instances of one mechanism; and the arrow of time as the one-way ratchet of the admissibility floor — confinement, the second law, and the quantum as one axis read at graded strengths. Every load-bearing step is anchored to a named, machine-verified check function in the APF theorem bank; the grade of each step is stated where the step is made; and everything the story does not claim is stated in one place. The Technical Supplement (deposited alongside and linked from this record) is self-contained for this paper: every definition, proof, and grade the story rests on, in one document, with a worked end-to-end instance and a reproducibility appendix pinning the theorem bank to a public repository and an archived release. About the series. Admissibility Physics is a structural realist reconstruction program built on a single commitment: any bounded region of the world can hold only finitely many distinctions. A principle of least enforcement cost then selects, among all the ways those distinctions might be arranged, the configurations a finite world can sustain. From this the content of physics is reconstructed rather than postulated: the Standard Model's gauge group and matter content, the Hilbert-space and Born-rule architecture of quantum mechanics, the geometry and field equations of general relativity, the four laws of thermodynamics, and the large-scale budget of cosmology emerge as different readings of one finite-capacity ledger. The unification is quantitative as well as conceptual: the framework's dimensionless constants appear not as free parameters but as counts read off that ledger — among them the dark-energy fraction ΩΛ = 42/61 and the weak mixing angle sin2θW = 3/13 — fixed, in the strongest cases, to within current measurement. The core derivation runs Papers 0–11; the extension papers carry the individual sectors. Each paper's main text and Technical Supplement is deposited separately; every quantitative claim traces to a named, executable check in the public theorem bank (over 3,800 bank-registered theorems, 48 quantitative predictions); and each result is carried at an explicit, graded level of confidence — from analytically forced to structurally grounded — with the measurements that would refute it named. Admissibility Physics is offered as a candidate, not a finished theory. If the program holds, the laws of physics could not have been otherwise: they are what a finite world permits. This paper introduces a constraint-first framework for physical law based on a single structural requirement: that distinctions and correlations be enforceable without contradiction under finite capacity. Rather than proposing new dynamics, entities, or microscopic mechanisms, the work reframes foundational questions in physics by asking a prior question—under what conditions is physical description itself possible? Central to the framework is the recognition that correlation enforcement cannot be unlimited. From this finiteness follows a notion of admissibility, separating correlation structures that can be jointly realized from those that are structurally incoherent, independent of probability or dynamics. Geometry, time, entropy, and global state descriptions are treated not as universal primitives, but as regime-dependent representations that emerge when enforcement constraints can be smoothly distributed—and fail when they cannot. Within this perspective, long-standing foundational puzzles—such as the arrow of time, entropy bounds, horizon paradoxes, and the breakdown of global descriptions—are reinterpreted as signals of regime mismatch rather than failures of physical law. Apparent paradoxes arise when descriptive tools are extrapolated beyond the regimes in which their enforcement is possible. The paper is deliberately pre-dynamical. It does not modify quantum mechanics or general relativity, nor does it derive specific equations or predictions. Its contribution is structural: to articulate the minimal conditions that any coherent physical description must satisfy, and to clarify why familiar physical structures appear where they do, persist where they can, and fail where they must. This work serves as the conceptual foundation for a companion technical paper that formalizes admissibility and finite correlation capacity as a calculus. Together, the papers aim to delineate the boundary between meaningful physical description and questions that cannot be consistently posed. Each paper's main text and Technical Supplement is deposited separately, and every quantitative claim traces to a named, executable check in the public theorem bank (over 3,800 bank-registered theorems across roughly 450 modules, 48 quantitative predictions).
