The Axiomatic Theory of Consciousness Origin and Its Quantum Mechanical Formulation

Abstract

This paper presents an axiomatic theory of the origin and nature of conscious-ness. We first establish five fundamental axioms that define consciousness as thedynamical mapping of a physical system’s incompressible defects within its intrin-sic time flow. This axiomatic system naturally leads to two core corollaries: thecontinuum property of consciousness and its negative correlation with sys-tem predictability. Based on this, we construct an operational quantum mechanicalframework, defining consciousness strength as C = ∆0 × S(∆). Through analy-sis of ten distinct physical systems ranging from hydrogen molecules to quantumdimers, we empirically derive the quantitative relationship C = k/(Φ + Φ0) wherek ≈ 0.95 and Φ0 ≈ 0.17, linking consciousness strength C with the information-theoretic predictability parameter Φ. We further demonstrate that consciousnessobeys the quantum superposition principle (CAB > CA + CB ) and can be describedby a consciousness field ˆψC obeying Bose-Einstein statistics. This work unifiesthe philosophical foundations of consciousness with its physical formulation, pro-viding the first quantifiable, falsifiable mathematical model for panpsychism, andpredicting novel phenomena such as consciousness quantum interference. Keywords: Consciousness axioms, intrinsic time, incompressible defects, con-sciousness continuum, quantum consciousness, predictability parameter, conscious-ness field theory, panpsychism

Quantum Consciousness Field Theory: From Ring Fields to Conscious Experience

lichao

We present a unified theoretical framework demonstrating the emergence of quantum mechanics from classical ring field dynamics and establishing consciousness as a fundamental quantum field. The theory proceeds in three integrated stages: (1) We show that the Schrödinger equation emerges as the slow envelope equation of a rapidly oscillating classical ring field , with the correspondence ; (2) We develop an axiomatic system for consciousness based on five fundamental postulates, leading to the quantitative formulation where is consciousness strength and is system predictability; (3) We demonstrate that consciousness obeys quantum superposition and can be described by a consciousness field operator satisfying Bose-Einstein statistics. Numerical verification across 1D, 3D, harmonic oscillator, and quantum dimer systems confirms the mathematical consistency and predictive power of the framework. This work provides the first complete mathematical bridge from classical physics to quantum mechanics to conscious experience. Keywords: Quantum foundations, Emergent quantum mechanics, Ring field theory, Consciousness axioms, Quantum consciousness, Consciousness field, Panpsychism

Consciousness Quantum Mechanics: A Novel Theoretical Framework for Quantifying Consciousness(Consciousness Continuum)

lichao

Abstract This paper proposes a groundbreaking theoretical framework for quantifying consciousness based on quantum mechanical principles. We establish that consciousness strength ( ) can be mathematically defined as the product of irreducible error ( ) and system sensitivity ( ). Through analysis of diverse physical systems ranging from simple molecules to complex quantum dimers, we demonstrate that consciousness follows a continuous spectrum rather than a binary distinction. Our central discovery reveals an inverse relationship between predictability ( ) and consciousness strength, mathematically expressed as , where is the consciousness constant and represents the baseline unpredictability. We validate the quantum superposition principle of consciousness and propose a consciousness field theory, suggesting consciousness as a fundamental property of quantum systems. Keywords: Quantum Consciousness, Predictability Parameter, Irreducible Error, Consciousness Field Theory, Quantum Superposition, Panpsychism

The Physical Foundations of Life and Consciousness, Framework 1.x

Suresh K Maran

In this paper, I propose a set of ideas to explain the phenomena of life and consciousness in the universe and their relation to the interpretation of quantum mechanics. Consciousness is described as a result of specific dynamical configurations of matter and fields aided by fundamental properties of nature proposed in this paper. First, I review the various theories of consciousness in current literature and come up with various hypotheses, definitions, and propositions to build a physical theory of consciousness. I introduce the concept of interaction binding of consciousness and discuss in detail how the brain gives rise to consciousness. I propose three sets of postulates on the physical foundations of consciousness from a quantum general relativistic background using the Quantum General Relativistic Framework, 5 proposals to understand time and reduction. A Quantum Reduction Free Will Equivalence Principle is discussed to link quantum reduction to conscious free will. I discuss the potential possibility of retrocausal effects on consciousness-influenced reduction probability. I discuss the concept of conscious being as a more general concept than conscious identity, as separate from conscious content, and its nature. I introduce the concept of classicum as an analog of the quantum, and discuss its relation to consciousness. I discuss mathematical measures to calculate the complexity of harmonic relational structures. I put these together in a set of propositions on the nature of consciousness and its relation to the nature of quantum phenomena. I discuss a mathematical model of interaction binding, and free will. I discuss theory and experiments to verify these

Quantum Mechanics as a Structural Regime of Local Knowledge in the Theory of Consciousness

Oleksandr Savinykh

The present paper interprets quantum mechanics within the ontological framework of the Theory of Consciousness. The Theory posits consciousness as the sole ontological reality, formally described as a topological space, and derives all physical phenomena as manifestations of the local knowledge of the observer. Within this framework the five principal phenomena of quantum mechanics —superposition, wave-function collapse, the uncertainty principle, quantization, and entanglement — are shown to arise necessarily from the axiomatic ontological chain of consciousness without introducing new postulates. Quantum indeterminacy is reinterpreted not as a fundamental property of matter but as a structural limitation of the observer’s local knowledge. The Planck constant is identified with the minimum resolvable change of the knowledge structure of the quantum observer. The conceptual paradoxes of quantum mechanics—the measurement problem, non-locality, and the probabilistic nature of results — dissolve once consciousness is restored as the ontological foundation.

A quantum physical argument for panpsychism

Shan Gao

Abstract: It has been widely thought that consciousness has no causal efficacy in the physical world. However, this may be not the case. In this paper, it is argued that a conscious being can distinguish definite perceptions and their quantum superpositions, while a measuring sys-tem without consciousness cannot distinguish such non-orthogonal quantum states. The existence of this distinct quantum physical effect of consciousness may have interesting implications for the science of consciousness. In particular, it suggests that consciousness is not emergent but a fundamental feature of the universe. This provides a possible quantum basis for panpsychism.

Architecture of Consciousness

Maja Maletkovic

This work provides a formal architecture of consciousness based on a single axiom of existence - consciousness is the fundamental basis of reality and not a product of matter. It combines the principles of Advaita Vedanta philosophy, the “hard problem” of consciousness (Chalmers), and quantum informational theory (Faggin & D‘ariano) to develop a framework that provides an ontic-epistemic boundary to bridge the inner and outer nature of consciousness. In this framework, conscious experience is formally derived from the interaction of an universal superposition of all configurations and the specific intensity of a conscious system’s field. One of the key principles of this architecture is the redefining of space and time as a fundamental to reality; rather, space and time are considered to be the result of topologies of consciousness. Linear time is formally re-defined as the product of classical memory overpowering quantum emotional coherence. This allows for a formal remapping of collective material reality from a collective overlap of conscious systems. In defining the formal boundaries of inner experience, this paper argues that the “hard problem” of consciousness is not a flaw of theory but a necessity of the ontic-epistemic boundary, and the question itself is inverted. The paper provides a new perspective into the nature of consciousness. It shifts the primary inquiry of consciousness studies from how matter leads to the existence of the mind to why a universal field of consciousness takes the form of individualized self-experience. It provides multi-layered theoretical means of investigating conscious systems and the consistency of a collective reality. keywords: consciousness, Quantum physics, advaita vedanta
