Black Hole Information Loss and Quantum Measurement Collapse as the Same Admissibility Transition in Modal Triplet Theory

Abstract

This paper develops a rigorous Modal Triplet Theory language for projected information, effective dynamics, and restricted recovery. An autonomous projected map exists exactly when the upper evolution preserves projection fibers; it is invertible exactly when the fiber equivalence is preserved in both time directions. Fiber splitting, effective merger, and restricted recovery are therefore distinct mechanisms. Quantum measurement is treated as an ordinary physical instrument followed by retention or loss of a record. Black-hole exterior restriction is a separate physical channel whose identification with an MTT admissibility boundary remains a model assumption. Island and entanglement-wedge results are represented by recovery on a code subspace or observable algebra, not by a partial right inverse between different state spaces. No common origin for Born and Hawking weights is claimed without an explicit measure and both pushforwards. The surviving MTT result is a rigorous language for projected information and recovery, together with a falsifiable source contract; it is not yet a solution of either the measurement problem or the black-hole information problem.

Projection, Probability, and Irreversibility in Modal Triplet Theory

Peter Nero

We present a unified framework connecting quantum measurement collapse, black hole information loss, and the origin of probability in cosmology within Modal Triplet Theory (MTT). In this framework, effective four-dimensional physics arises as a shadow of deterministic dynamics on a higher configuration space under a generally noninvertible coherent projection. We define admissibility barriers—loci where this projection fails to be stably invertible due to spectral gap closure, projector discontinuity, or basin rearrangement—and prove that crossing such barriers necessarily destroys global reconstructability of the induced four-dimensional dynamics. Quantum measurement collapse and black hole information loss are shown to be distinct physical realizations of this same mechanism. We further show that Born probabilities, Hawking thermal weights, and cosmological initial-condition measures arise from a single basin-measure functional evaluated across different admissibility barriers within the coherent universality class. Inflationary attractors, decoherence, POVM updates, and island constructions are identified as partial shadows that detect basin structure but cannot restore global invertibility. Finally, results on computational irreducibility imply that information loss across some admissibility barriers is principled rather than merely practical.

Modal Triplet Theory and Pilot–Wave Dynamics: A Regime-Limited Configuration-Space Reconstruction

Peter Nero

This paper asks a deliberately narrower question than its predecessor: when does a Modal Triplet Theory (MTT) description reconstruct the standard nonrelativistic de Broglie-Bohm dynamics? We first specify the complete lower pilot-wave record. In addition to a complex Hilbert space and self-adjoint Schrodinger Hamiltonian, that record contains a physical configuration manifold, an actual configuration, a selected probability current, a guidance field and maximal flow, an equilibrium measure, subsystem and instrument data, a locality contract, and source and error certificates. For a regular spinless scalar Schrodinger model the standard current obeys a continuity equation, and velocity equals current divided by density away from nodes. Equivariance then propagates an initially chosen wavefunction-squared distribution. These facts are standard lower-level mathematics: continuity alone neither selects the actual configuration nor derives the initial equilibrium distribution, and it does not uniquely select the current because divergence-free modifications preserve the same continuity equation. The MTT result is therefore conditional. If one selected upper state emits the full pilot-wave record and its state, dynamics, configuration decoder, current, instruments, and records form commuting descent diagrams, then MTT reconstructs Bohmian trajectories and their operational statistics on the declared interval. The current canonical geometry is a ten-dimensional bundle over a four-dimensional Lorentzian base with a compact six-dimensional fibre; the former literal product of four-dimensional spacetime and three independent internal factors is not used. Failure of the reconstruction means that a required current, decoder, flow, or stable continuation is unavailable. It does not follow from the absence of a right inverse, and it does not establish that Bohmian mechanics is globally impossible. Standard global-existence results cover broad Hamiltonian classes for almost every equilibrium initial configuration. Entangled guidance is explicitly nonlocal in physical configuration space. Operational no-signalling can nevertheless hold in quantum equilibrium, while an MTT claim of upper-world locality requires a separate descent theorem preserving settings, local algebras, records, and independence assumptions. Measurement is treated as an ordinary system-apparatus interaction with an effective conditional wavefunction, not automatically as an admissibility-barrier crossing. The selected q=79 binary recorder provides an exact stopped operational output measure on its declared commuting Fock domain, but it does not yet source arbitrary Bohmian equilibrium ensembles or one uniquely actual history. The paper thus establishes a precise regime-limited reconstruction and a finite completion contract, not a universal derivation or a no-hidden-variable theorem.

Closure and Inevitability in Modal Triplet Theory

Peter Nero

Modal Triplet Theory (MTT) has established the emergence of quantum mechanics, quantum field theory, spacetime geometry, irreversibility, and cosmology from a common projection-based architecture. While these results are rigorous, their logical necessity has remained distributed across multiple constructions. This paper provides conceptual closure to the MTT corpus. We extract the minimal structural axioms already implicit in the theory, identify a single invariant admissibility margin—coherence capacity—and state a projection–admissibility obstruction theorem from which irreversibility, probability, universality, Hilbert-space structure, and geometric response follow as unavoidable consequences. No new dynamics, degrees of freedom, or assumptions are introduced. The analysis shows that once noninjective projection and finite admissibility are admitted, the qualitative form of observed physics cannot be otherwise. The paper clarifies what MTT does and does not claim, delineates universality classes and breakdown modes, and makes explicit the inevitability that was enforced by the theory’s own internal consistency.

Entanglement, Locality, and Measurement from Coherent Sector Dynamics

Peter Nero

Algebraic quantum field theory (AQFT) enforces relativistic locality at the level of observable algebras while allowing globally entangled states, but it does not explain why physically realized states are typically entangled, how entanglement propagates, or how measurement reduces entanglement without enabling superluminal signaling. We present an AQFT-compatible framework in which physically admissible states are restricted to those induced by coherent-sector dynamics in Modal Triplet Theory (MTT), characterized by bounded geometry, a uniform spectral gap, bounded coherent projectors, and disturbance–damping stability. Within this restricted state class, entanglement is interpreted as a global coherence constraint in configuration space, while microcausality, isotony, and the time-slice property remain exact on spacetime. Measurement is modeled as localized disturbance followed by stabilization into admissible basins, yielding partial disentanglement. Standard Bell/CHSH and temporal Bell (Leggett–Garg) violations are recovered without nonlocal influence, and entanglement spreading via mediated interactions is explained as causal propagation through common ancestors subject to finite-speed bounds. The framework unifies AQFT locality with the MTT analyses of measurement and Bell phenomena without modifying quantum field theory axioms.

Black Holes, Information, and Admissibility: Reframing the Information Paradox Without Loss or Preservation (IM-D003, v0.3)

Anders Nils Gunnar Widgren

This document is part of the Informational Mechanics (IM) framework and is published in the IM-D (Core Physics) series within the IM v0.3 corpus. The paper addresses the black hole information problem by re-examining the physical meaning of information under extreme gravitational collapse. Rather than treating the problem as a conflict between information loss and information preservation, the analysis argues that both alternatives presuppose the continued admissibility of operator-defined information in regimes where the structural conditions required to define information may no longer hold. Within Informational Mechanics, information is defined only where admissible structure exists: stable distinctions, persistent identities, and reproducible correlations supported by operational comparability under disturbance. Under gravitational collapse and evaporation, these conditions fail. In such regimes, the operators required to define, track, or recover information cease to be physically implementable, rendering questions of loss or preservation physically undefined rather than false. This admissibility-based perspective reframes the black hole information paradox without introducing new dynamics, modifying quantum mechanics, or invoking observer-dependent ontologies. Formal unitarity may remain intact at the level of mathematical description, while the physical content of information-bearing correlations becomes inadmissible. The firewall paradox is treated as a direct corollary, arising from an inadmissible demand for simultaneous operator-defined access to interior, exterior, and horizon-spanning descriptions. The paper synthesizes and clarifies the distinct insights associated with Penrose, Hawking, and Susskind by showing that each applies within a different admissible regime. Black holes are treated as local admissibility boundaries, analogous to cosmological regime boundaries analyzed in Regime Condensation Cosmology (IM-D002). This work introduces no new dynamics, models, or experimental fits. Its contribution is disciplinary and structural: to clarify the regime conditions under which “information” is physically defined, and to reclassify the paradox as an inadmissible demand for simultaneous operator-defined access across incompatible regimes.

The Black Hole Information Problem as a Channel Theorem - Exterior recovery, remnants, and the Page curve, decided by a complementary channel

Marc Maibom

The black hole information problem contains distinct questions about the continuation of the hole, the reversibility of the complete physical evolution, recovery from exterior radiation, and the feasibility of decoding. For a finite collapse code and a specified exterior channel, exact recovery is equivalent to input independence of its complete complementary channel. We establish the exact recovery criterion, the exhaustive loss/storage/recovery trichotomy, the strong-complete-evaporation corollary, the remnant and baby-universe classification, the entropy counterexample and the approximate information–disturbance criterion. The current LP architecture makes the addressed bearer and physical cut explicit before these questions are evaluated. Constitution identity is distinct from Q2a and Q2b, and a code-recovery theorem is not automatically a theorem about the complete identity of a physical bearer. We prove this independence with two different hidden coupling profiles that have identical, perfectly recoverable exterior channels. We also strengthen the Page-curve obstruction: two globally isometric evolutions have the same prescribed radiation entropy curve for every pure code input, while one is perfectly recoverable and the other erases the entire code from the exterior. A reference-system decoupling test distinguishes them exactly. The approximate result now gives dimension-independent diamond-norm bounds with explicit normalization, and separates a sufficient identity-margin certificate from a verdict of actual identity loss. Strong complete evaporation forces exterior recovery only when the complete complement is input independent and global reversibility is established. The cessation of the black hole alone establishes neither premise. The results decide these questions for a fully specified finite model; they do not supply an evaporation mechanism or choose the realized four-dimensional channel.
