The Schrödinger Cat Paradox as a Stability Problem in a Coercive Vacuum;

Abstract

The Schrödinger cat paradox is often presented as evidence that quantum mechanics fundamentally conflicts with macroscopic reality. This short conceptual paper proposes a resolution based on the TUO–NS (Theory of the Universe as an Operator – Navier–Stokes–like) framework. In this approach, physical states are interpreted as elastic deformations of a coercive vacuum field. The linear superposition principle is shown to be an effective property, valid only in the regime of small, linearized perturbations around a stable background configuration: $$\mathcal{L}[\delta\psi_1 + \delta\psi_2] \approx \mathcal{L}[\delta\psi_1] + \mathcal{L}[\delta\psi_2]$$ At macroscopic scales, the vacuum energy functional $\mathcal{E}[\Psi]$ is coercive and admits only isolated local minima. Superpositions of distinct macroscopic configurations correspond to energetically unstable states: $$\mathcal{E}[\Psi_{dead} + \Psi_{alive}] \gg \mathcal{E}[\Psi_{dead}] + \mathcal{E}[\Psi_{alive}]$$ These states relax dynamically toward one of the admissible minima. The apparent “collapse of the wave function” is thus reinterpreted as a physical relaxation process, rather than an observer-dependent or probabilistic axiom. This framework provides a physically grounded explanation for the absence of macroscopic superpositions, without invoking external observers, measurement postulates, or modifications of quantum dynamics. This document is intended as a conceptual clarification complementary to the main TUO–NS technical papers, rather than as a replacement for standard quantum mechanics.

Schrödinger's Cat Paradox Resolution

Jaykov Foukzon, A. A. Potapov, Менькова Елена Романовна

In his famous thought experiment, Schrodinger(1935) imagined a cat that measures the value of a quantum mechanical observable with its life. Since Schrodinger’s time,no any interpretations or modifications of quantum mechanics have been proposed which gives clear unambiguous answers to the questions posed by Schrodinger’s cat of how long superpositions last and when (or whether) they collapse?In this book appropriate modification of quantum mechanics is proposed.We claim that canonical interpretation of the wave function ψ=с1ψ1+с2ψ2 is correct only when the wave function supports ψ1 and ψ2 essentially overlap. When these ones have separated supports we claim that canonical interpretation of the wave function ψ is no longer valid for a such cat state.Possible solution of the Schrodinger’s cat paradox is considered. We pointed out that the collapsed state of the cat always shows definite and predictable outcomes even if the cat also consists of a superposition:|cat>=с1|alive cat>+с2|death cat>.Using new quantum mechanical formalism the EPRB-paradox is considered.We find that the EPRB-paradox can be resolved by nonprincipal and convenient relaxing of the Einstein’s locality principle.

Reinterpreting Schrodinger's Cat Through the Informational Observer Framework

Greco, Giuseppe Junior

Schrodinger's cat is traditionally presented as a paradox highlighting the tension between quantum superposition and classical observation. Standard interpretations invoke either a fundamental wavefunction collapse, ontological branching of universes, or subjective Bayesian updating. In this paper, we propose a reinterpretation grounded in the Informational Observer Framework, according to which the paradox does not originate from an ontological superposition of macroscopic states, but from an unresolved informational configuration at the observer level. The cat itself is never simultaneously alive and dead; rather, the observer remains in a state of informational compression prior to interaction. Within this framework, wavefunction collapse is reinterpreted as an observer-level informational phase transition, not as a fundamental physical discontinuity. This approach preserves macroscopic realism, avoids ontological inflation, and reframes the measurement problem as an emergent informational phenomenon.

Schrödinger's Cat in a Physical Medium: An SP3 Resolution of Superposition, Decoherence, and Macroscopic Definiteness

James E Beecham

Schrodinger’s Cat remains one of the most enduring illustrations of the quantummeasurement problem because it appears to place a macroscopic living system into asuperposition of mutually exclusive states. Conventional interpretations address thisdifficulty through observer-dependent collapse, branching worlds, or environmentaldecoherence, yet each approach leaves open the physical question of why one definitemacroscopic outcome is established. This paper offers a Space-Phase (SP3)reinterpretation in which space is treated as a real, conditionable, memory-bearing,energy-storing medium rather than an empty mathematical backdrop. Within thisframework, superposition is not the literal coexistence of contradictory realities, but a lowsaturation regime in which the medium can temporarily support multiple permissiblemicro-configurations. Measurement is not a special observer-driven act, but anamplification process by which a microscopic event becomes coupled to a high-saturationmacroscopic system. Once energy storage, environmental coupling, memoryaccumulation, and structural complexity exceed the medium’s coherence-saturationthreshold, incompatible configurations lose physical support and a single stable outcomeis enforced. The cat is therefore never materially suspended between life and death; theoutcome is established by medium constraint before observation. By mapping this processonto the ten functions of SP3, the paper reframes wavefunction collapse as continuous,substrate-driven decoherence and threshold resolution. The result is a causal, materialaccount of the quantum-to-classical transition that preserves the predictive usefulness ofquantum formalism while replacing observer-centric ambiguity with physical mechanism.

CAT'S THEORY: Explaining Schrödinger's Cat — Resolving the Measurement Problem Through Triadic Ontology

Coty Austin Trout

Schrödinger's cat paradox has persisted for nearly a century as a demonstration of the apparent absurdity of quantum superposition when extended to macroscopic scales. This technical note demonstrates that the paradox dissolves entirely within the CAT'S Theory framework through the triadic invariant Reality = Pattern × Intent × Presence (P × I × Pr). We argue that the cat is neither "both alive and dead" nor the victim of mysterious collapse. Instead, superposition represents a state where Presence (Pr) has not yet instantiated, yielding P × I × 0 = 0 (potential but not actual). Measurement does not "cause" collapse through mysterious observer effects; it provides the Presence component required for actualization. This resolution eliminates the need for Multiple Worlds or hidden variables while maintaining consistency with quantum mechanical predictions.

Reconstruction of Schrödinger's Cat in Many Worlds 2; Structural Stability of the Quantum–Classical Boundary: A Non-Interpretational Resolution of Schrödinger's Cat Paradox

changzheng zhou, ZIQING zhou

This paper proposes a quantum measurement framework based on structuralstability theory, aiming to resolve the logical dilemma of the quantum–classicaltransition in Schrödinger’s cat paradox. Traditional quantum mechanics relies onexternal mechanisms such as “observer introduction” or “decoherence” to explainmacroscopic reality, leading to vague ontological commitments. We argue that thefundamental reason macroscopic quantum states cannot maintain coherent superpositions lies in the self-organizing critical behavior constrained by the system’sinternal structural stability. The core mechanism is: when a quantum system couples with a classical measuring device, its Hilbert space representation is forced toproject from a high-dimensional unitary representation onto a low-dimensional classical representation, a process driven by the extremization of a structural stabilityfunctional, not by external observation. We rigorously prove that when the system’sstructural information density exceeds a critical threshold, the quantum superposition state cannot satisfy self-consistency constraints mathematically; the systemmust select a classical eigenstate through an “algebraic filtration” mechanism. Thetheory yields three testable predictions: (1) a microscopic entropy production pulseat the moment of coupling between the measuring device and the quantum system,of order 10−21 J/K; (2) a deviation of the quantum Zeno suppression factor fromstandard quantum mechanical predictions on microsecond scales; (3) a scaling-lawdivergence of the decoherence time of macroscopic superpositions at critical parameters. These effects can be tested in coupled superconductor qubit–mechanicalresonator systems. The framework does not modify unitary evolution, does not relyon many-worlds assumptions, and does not introduce collapse postulates; instead,it transforms the measurement problem into a question of compatibility betweenquantum information structure and geometric–topological constraints.
