Reinterpreting Schrodinger's Cat Through the Informational Observer Framework

Abstract

Schrodinger's cat is traditionally presented as a paradox highlighting the tension between quantum superposition and classical observation. Standard interpretations invoke either a fundamental wavefunction collapse, ontological branching of universes, or subjective Bayesian updating. In this paper, we propose a reinterpretation grounded in the Informational Observer Framework, according to which the paradox does not originate from an ontological superposition of macroscopic states, but from an unresolved informational configuration at the observer level. The cat itself is never simultaneously alive and dead; rather, the observer remains in a state of informational compression prior to interaction. Within this framework, wavefunction collapse is reinterpreted as an observer-level informational phase transition, not as a fundamental physical discontinuity. This approach preserves macroscopic realism, avoids ontological inflation, and reframes the measurement problem as an emergent informational phenomenon.

Schrödinger's Cat in a Physical Medium: An SP3 Resolution of Superposition, Decoherence, and Macroscopic Definiteness

James E Beecham

Schrodinger’s Cat remains one of the most enduring illustrations of the quantummeasurement problem because it appears to place a macroscopic living system into asuperposition of mutually exclusive states. Conventional interpretations address thisdifficulty through observer-dependent collapse, branching worlds, or environmentaldecoherence, yet each approach leaves open the physical question of why one definitemacroscopic outcome is established. This paper offers a Space-Phase (SP3)reinterpretation in which space is treated as a real, conditionable, memory-bearing,energy-storing medium rather than an empty mathematical backdrop. Within thisframework, superposition is not the literal coexistence of contradictory realities, but a lowsaturation regime in which the medium can temporarily support multiple permissiblemicro-configurations. Measurement is not a special observer-driven act, but anamplification process by which a microscopic event becomes coupled to a high-saturationmacroscopic system. Once energy storage, environmental coupling, memoryaccumulation, and structural complexity exceed the medium’s coherence-saturationthreshold, incompatible configurations lose physical support and a single stable outcomeis enforced. The cat is therefore never materially suspended between life and death; theoutcome is established by medium constraint before observation. By mapping this processonto the ten functions of SP3, the paper reframes wavefunction collapse as continuous,substrate-driven decoherence and threshold resolution. The result is a causal, materialaccount of the quantum-to-classical transition that preserves the predictive usefulness ofquantum formalism while replacing observer-centric ambiguity with physical mechanism.

CAT'S THEORY: Explaining Schrödinger's Cat — Resolving the Measurement Problem Through Triadic Ontology

Coty Austin Trout

Schrödinger's cat paradox has persisted for nearly a century as a demonstration of the apparent absurdity of quantum superposition when extended to macroscopic scales. This technical note demonstrates that the paradox dissolves entirely within the CAT'S Theory framework through the triadic invariant Reality = Pattern × Intent × Presence (P × I × Pr). We argue that the cat is neither "both alive and dead" nor the victim of mysterious collapse. Instead, superposition represents a state where Presence (Pr) has not yet instantiated, yielding P × I × 0 = 0 (potential but not actual). Measurement does not "cause" collapse through mysterious observer effects; it provides the Presence component required for actualization. This resolution eliminates the need for Multiple Worlds or hidden variables while maintaining consistency with quantum mechanical predictions.

Reconstruction of Schrödinger's Cat in Many Worlds 1; Six Interpretations on Whether Schrödinger's Cat Is Dead or Alive

changzheng zhou, ZIQING zhou

Schrödinger’s cat thought experiment profoundly reveals the fundamental tension between the principle of quantum superposition and macroscopic classicalreality. This paper systematically elaborates six emerging mathematical-physicalframeworks aimed at reconstructing this paradox: Dynamic Time Algebra, PostMarkovian Paradigm, Temporal Layer Causal Evolution Theory, Chronogroup Framework, Chronological Fiber Category Theory, and Origin of Order Theory. Thesetheories respectively start from algebraic, logical, homological, group-theoretic, categorical, and thermodynamic structures, demonstrating the essential reasons whymacroscopic systems cannot maintain quantum superpositions. They collectivelypoint to a core viewpoint: the classical state of the cat is not determined by theexternal observer’s ”looking”, but is spontaneously completed by an internal ”selfstabilization mechanism” initiated by the system itself before the observer’s intervention, in order to repair the ”structural fracture” at the micro-macro interface. The core contribution of this paper is to reveal that these six theories are not isolated but are manifestations of the same underlying physical process under differentmathematical projections. By analyzing their unification theorems, core mechanisms, and experimentally testable predictions (such as entropy production pulses, logical afterimages, critical slowing down, etc.), this paper provides a self-consistentstructural answer to the quantum measurement problem without introducing thecollapse postulate or many-world branches.

The Structure of Observation Derived from the Observer Problem A Reinterpretation of Schr¨odinger's Cat and Wigner's Friend

Fumiyoshi Tamura

The observer problem remains one of the central unresolved questions in the foundations of quantum mechanics. This paper derives the logical structure of observation without assuming an observer, consciousness, measurement, or information as primitive concepts. Starting from the primitive notion of Meaning, the following logical sequence is derived: Meaning → Being → Closure → I₄ → Update → Time → 0 < δ < ∞ → Self-Reference → Observer → Observation → Record → Synchronization → Information. Within this framework, an observer is shown to emerge necessarily from persistent self-referential closure possessing finite residual relation. Observation is interpreted as the generation of persistent internal representations, while measurement is reformulated as synchronization between independent closures. Information is derived as synchronized records supported by an information medium. This logical structure provides a unified reinterpretation of Schrödinger's cat and Wigner's friend. The apparent paradoxes are shown to originate from synchronization between independent observers rather than from consciousness, observer-dependent reality, or wave-function collapse. The paper establishes an ontological hierarchy connecting Meaning, Being, observation, synchronization, and information within the MBC (Meaning-Based Constraint) framework.

Review and suggested resolution of the problem of Schrodinger’s cat

Art Hobson

This paper reviews and suggests a resolution of the problem of definite outcomes of measurement. This problem, also known as ‘Schrodinger’s cat’, has long posed an apparent paradox because the state resulting from a measurement appears to be a quantum superposition in which the detector is in two macroscopically distinct states (alive and dead in the case of the cat) simultaneously. Many alternative interpretations of the quantum mathematical formalism, and several alternative modifications of the theory, have been proposed to resolve this problem, but no consensus has formed supporting any one of them. Applying standard quantum theory to the measurement state, together with the analysis and results of decades of nonlocality experiments with pairs of entangled systems, this paper shows the entangled measurement state is not a paradoxical macroscopic superposition of states. It is instead a phase-dependent superposition of correlations between states of the subsystems. Thus Schrodinger’s cat is a non-paradoxical ‘macroscopic correlation’ in which one of the two correlated systems happens to be a detector. This insight resolves the problem of definite outcomes but it does not entirely resolve the measurement problem because the entangled state is still reversible.
