The Metaverse integrates virtual reality, augmented reality, and decentralized economies, but its security foundations are increasingly threatened by quantum computing. Classical cryptography used in blockchain systems is vulnerable to quantum attacks, while existing blockchain-based frameworks lack quantum resistance. Quantum Key Distribution (QKD) offers provably secure communication, but has not been systematically applied to Metaverse security. To address this gap, we propose Q-CryptChain, a hybrid framework that combines QKD with blockchain to deliver quantum-safe confidentiality, tamper-proof integrity, and continuous authentication. We formalize the system and threat model, define explicit security properties, and present strengthened algorithms for handshake, transaction validation, and session monitoring. Q-CryptChain provides a future-proof security foundation for Metaverse ecosystems, enabling trustworthy interactions against emerging quantum-era threats.

Quantum computing's development poses a significant threat to the cryptographic security of current blockchain technologies, potentially undermining the integrity of digital transactions. Quantum computers can break the complex mathematical problems that algorithms like RSA and ECC rely on, which could lead to vulnerabilities such as double-spending and fraud. To address these risks, the blockchain community is exploring quantum-resistant protocols that employ post-quantum cryptographic algorithms, which are designed to withstand quantum computing attacks. Quantum-secure blockchain protocols integrate quantum key distribution (QKD) and post-quantum cryptography (PQC) to enhance security. QKD uses quantum mechanics principles to secure communication channels, ensuring that any attempt to intercept the key introduces detectable anomalies. PQC involves algorithms like lattice-based, hash-based, or multivariate polynomial-based algorithms that are believed to be secure against quantum attacks. These protocols aim to maintain the confidentiality, integrity, and security of data transmitted over the blockchain, ensuring the longevity and reliability of blockchain systems in the face of evolving computational advancements. A quantum-secure blockchain scheme (QSB) utilizes a consensus mechanism, QPoA, and IQS. The QPoA is leveraged for block generation while the IQS is deployed in transaction verification1. Furthermore, the integration of quantum computing with blockchain can address current limitations, such as slow transaction speeds and lack of scalability, by optimizing calculations and enabling smarter, more sophisticated smart contracts. The development and implementation of quantum-resistant blockchains are essential for future-proofing digital transactions and maintaining trust in decentralized systems
The integration of quantum cryptography and blockchain offers a transformative approach to enhance data security in cloud environments. Quantum cryptography, leveraging principles of quantum mechanics such as quantum key distribution (QKD), ensures unbreakable encryption by enabling secure key exchange. Simultaneously, blockchain technology introduces decentralization, transparency, and immutability, ensuring data integrity and preventing unauthorized tampering. This research explores the synergy between these technologies to develop a novel framework for cloud security. The proposed model leverages QKD for secure communication channels and blockchain-based distributed ledgers for verifying transactions and access control. Key contributions include a hybrid encryption mechanism using quantum keys, a consensus algorithm optimized for cloud operations, and integration strategies to mitigate quantum attacks. Performance evaluations demonstrate enhanced resilience against data breaches, improved key management, and seamless scalability for modern cloud architectures. This study establishes a secure, future-proof infrastructure that addresses emerging threats in the post-quantum era while ensuring trust, confidentiality, and data integrity in cloud ecosystems.
The advent of quantum computing poses a threat to the bases of classical cryptographies and thus the RSA and ECC are susceptible to attacks at the time of a poly with Shors algorithm. The present paper proposes QUBE-Crypto (Quantum Unbreakable Blockchain-Enhanced Cryptography) which is a new multi-layered protocol that facilitates a synergistic combination of Quantum Key Distribution (QKD) that can provide information-theoretic key protection, Post-Quantum Digital Signatures (Dilithium-5, SQIsignHD) that offer computational authentication resilience, blockchain-based immutable identity anchoring and Pseudorandom Quantum State (PRS) challenges that can provide unforgeable verification. Unlike existing approaches that address quantum threats in isolation, QUBE-Crypto provides end-to-end quantum-safe communication by combining provably secure key exchange, quantum-resistant signatures, decentralized trust, and clone-proof authentication. The protocol is formally specified through a five-phase algorithm encompassing initialization, QKD-based session key establishment, PRS-based challengeresponse authentication, blockchain-anchored verification, and encrypted message exchange. Applications span IoT security, smart cities, digital voting, and decentralized identity systems requiring resilience against both classical and quantum adversaries.
The metaverse has profoundly altered the conventional online landscape and has attracted significant interest from researchers and industry professionals. As the metaverse changes quickly, it needs strong and safe cryptographic solutions to make sure that transactions are fair and safe in its highly connected world. This paper presents a novel blockchain-assisted fair exchange signature protocol leveraging quantum key distribution (QKD) to ensure security against both classical and quantum adversaries. The suggested protocol combines blockchain technology with quantum key distribution to create an exchange framework that can’t be changed, is clear, and can’t be tampered with. It also uses quantum mechanics to create keys that are always safe. By incorporating a fair exchange mechanism, the protocol guarantees that either both parties fulfill their obligations or neither party benefits, addressing trust issues in decentralized metaverse transactions. Furthermore, we provide a detailed analysis of the protocol’s security, efficiency, and scalability, highlighting its resistance to quantum attacks and its suitability for real-time applications in the metaverse. Simulation results demonstrate that the protocol significantly enhances exchange fairness, minimizes latency, and ensures robust authentication, making it a promising candidate for securing transactions in next-generation digital ecosystems. Web 3.0 technologies provide a resolution by facilitating a decentralized metaverse ecology. The suggested protocol utilizes quantum fundamentals to facilitate safe communication, while the incorporation of quantum cryptography with Web 3.0 improves the efficiency, security, and authenticity of metaverse environments. We test the proposed quantum signature scheme both theoretically and practically using QuantumSim simulations, demonstrating strong signature performance in comparison to other schemes. The results indicate a computational cost of0.815ms, and communication costs of 1312 bits, demonstrating the protocol’s resilience and performance by conducting a thorough safety and efficiency analysis and demonstrating compliance with essential security features, including unforgeability, undeniability, verifiability, and traceability.
Quantum computing is progressing at a fast rate and there is a real threat that classical cryptographic methods can be compromised and therefore impact the security of blockchain networks. All of the ways used to secure blockchain like Rivest–Shamir–Adleman (RSA), Elliptic Curve Cryptography (ECC) and Secure Hash Algorithm 256-bit (SHA256) are the characteristic of the traditional cryptographic techniques vulnerable to attack by quantum algorithms: Shor’s and Grover’s algorithms: can efficiently break asymmetric encryption and speed up brute force attacks. Because of this vulnerability, there exists a need to develop an advance quantum resilient blockchain framework to protect the decentralized ledgers from the future threats of the quantum. This research proposes Post-Quantum Cryptography (PQC), Quantum Key Distribution (QKD) and Quantum Random Number Generation (QRNG) as a formidable architectural integration, to fortify security of blockchain. Classical encryption is replaced with PQC, QKD with secure key exchange by detecting eavesdropping, and QRNG with improving cryptographic randomness to remove the predictable key vulnerability. Only with a small loss of transaction efficiency, we increase transaction encryption accuracy, key exchange security, and resistance to quantum attacks. In this quantum enhanced blockchain design, the idea is to preserve the decentralization, transparency and security and at the same time overcome the future quantum threat. By going through rigorous analysis and comparative evaluation, we demonstrate that the approach saves blockchain networks from the emerging quantum risks to make sure that the decentralized finance, smart contracts and cross chain transactions.
The fast growth of quantum computing makes the old modes of cryptography, be it RSA or ECC, weak to quantum attacks, especially when it employs Shor's algorithm. Threatening also builds up on the post-quantum age regarding blockchain technology and its external cryptography, which secures reliable transactions and authentication. This study will address the importance of quantum resistant blockchain authentication protocols for the security of decentralized systems against any forward-looking quantum-enabled attacks. This paper goes through different classifications of post-quantum cryptography like lattice-based, hash-based, multivariate polynomial, and code-based cryptography, taking an effort to analyze their compatibility with blockchain use cases.[8] Moreover, we also introduce the innovative quantum-resistant authentication model designed to enhance security while not compromising upon efficiency.[2] [3] Our proposed model would ensure scalability and less computational overhead by partially providing immunity to quantum adversaries through its underlying use of post-quantum signature schemes and lightweight key exchange mechanisms. This research aims at laying the foundation for developing a secure blockchain ecosystem against quantum threats, heading toward a resistant future-proof decentralized infrastructure. [4] [5]
