Abstract

The correlation of inhomogeneous broadening and the efficiency of locking of stimulated photon echo signals in the three-level resonance medium are investigated in this article. It is shown, that relative inten-sity of the photon echo signals essentially depends on the size of the factor of inhomogeneous broadening correlation on different frequency transitions.

Frequency–time correlation of inhomogeneous broadening in a three-level system and the stimulated photon echo locking effect

L. A. Nefedev, Э. И. Низамова, Guzel I. Garnaeva

The frequency–time correlation of inhomogeneous broadening on different transitions in a threelevel resonant medium in the presence of external spatially nonuniform electric fields is considered. It is shown that, under a certain relationship between the magnitudes of gradients of external nonuniform electric fields acting at different moments of time, it is possible to control the magnitude of the frequency–time correlation on different frequency transitions. An increase in the frequency–time correlation coefficient with certain strengths of external spatially nonuniform electric fields leads to the recovery of the phase memory of the system and an increase in the stimulated photon echo intensity.

This paper discusses the data-locking efficiency when data is recorded by means of stimulated-photon echo and the dependence of the frequency–time correlation coefficient of inhomogeneous broadening in various regions of the excitation of an inhomogeneously broadened line. It is shown that the rate of change of the correlation coefficient depends on the region of excitation of the inhomogeneously broadened line, as well as on the gradients of the external spatially inhomogeneous electromagnetic fields.

The correlation of inhomogeneous broadening and the efficiency of data locking in optical echo processors

L. A. Nefedev, G. I. Khakimzyanova

The formation of responses of stimulated photon echo and the efficiency of data locking under the action of a spatially inhomogeneous electric field on a resonance medium are analyzed. It is shown that the action of a spatially inhomogeneous electric field on a resonance medium between the first and second excitation laser pulses leads to the reversible destruction of the phase memory of the medium, which manifests itself in a change in the time-frequency correlation of inhomogeneous broadening. The possibility of controlling the efficiency of data locking by varying the gradient of an external nonuniform electric field is considered.

The effect of locking of a long-lived photon echo is investigated in the case where non resonant laser ra-diation (traveling wave with an artificially created spatial inhomogeneity) serves as an inhomogeneous external perturbation, which results in random shifts or splitting of the initial monochromatic components of the inhomogeneously broadened line.

The effect of uncorrelatedness of inhomogeneous broadening on the formation of transient optical processes in multilevel systems

L. A. Nefedev, Э. И. Низамова, S. V. Taktaeva

The correlation of inhomogeneous broadening at various frequency transitions in three-level systems is investigated, as is its effect on the intensity of a stimulated photon echo. It is shown that the correlation coefficient of inhomogeneous broadening at two different transitions and the response intensity of the stimulated photon echo depend on the parameter of the random interaction of an optical electron with a local field, as well as on the distribution width of additional frequency shifts owing to a partial fixation of transition energies. In this case, an insignificant variation of the correlation coefficient results in a considerable decrease in the response intensity.
