From Quantum to Reality: Gravity-Induced Quantum Decoherence, Arrow of Time, Matter Self-Assembling, Life, Intelligence, Consciousness, and Free Will (Part Two: From Matter Self-Assembling to Life: Bounded Probabilism Beyond Determinism and Probabilism)
This study seeks to establish a consistent theoretical foundation to address enduring open questions in physics—such as the origins of life, free will, the subjective experience of time, consciousness, and biological intelligence—by exploring the connection between the stochastic quantum hydrodynamic model (SQHM) and the order generation in systems far from thermodynamic equilibrium, all converging in the manifestation of physical reality. It offers novel insights into the emergence of order, biological systems, and associated functions such as biological intelligence, free will, consciousness, and the behavior of social structures. These insights are grounded in the assumption of a discrete spacetime structure, enabling an analogy of the universe as a running discrete computation, where emergent physical laws arise from the computation’s intrinsic problem-solving goals. This perspective carries profound implications for physical evolution, suggesting that everyday reality, the origin of life, social interactions, and consciousness itself are intrinsic features of the universal physics. It introduces the idea that free will may emerge as a functional mechanism guiding the universe’s progression toward increasingly efficient and organized states, states in which order is preserved to the greatest extent possible. This view embodies a form of bounded probabilism, standing in sharp contrast to the concept of total, unconstrained randomness, which reduces the universe to a mere cosmic game of dice. It also offers a novel perspective through which artificial intelligence can be framed and its limitations, as well as its differences from biological intelligence, can be better understood. This view highlights how the quantum foundations of the universe contribute to the expression of consciousness, outlining potential avenues for advancing AI toward a more faithful emulation of conscious experience.

This work aims to address unresolved questions in physics through a coherent framework built upon a unified understanding of the interdependence of gravity, quantum physics, and classical mechanics, ultimately leading to the emergence of physical reality. The approach builds upon Madelung’s quantum hydrodynamic representation, extending it by incorporating stochastic perturbations from gravitational background noise (GBN). The consequent stochastic quantum hydrodynamics model (SQHM) bridges the quantum and classical domains, unveiling a natural quantum-to-classical coexistence. For the first time, the model provides a theoretical foundation for the Lindemann constant and can be experimentally tested via a photon entanglement experiment. It also accurately reproduces the experimental data for the fluid–superfluid transition in helium. The framework resolves long-standing theoretical conflicts between quantum mechanics and classical mechanics, addresses the EPR paradox, and provides novel insights into the emergence of flowing time in 4-D spacetime and the evolution of the universe, potentially accommodating free will. The proposed framework highlights the inadequacy of both deterministic laws and a purely measure-dependent conception of reality governed by unpredictable probabilistic evolution.
The Simulation analogy presented in this work enhances the accessibility of abstract quantum theories, specifically the stochastic hydrodyanimc model (SQHM), by relating them to our daily experiences. The SQHM incorporates the influence of fluctuating gravitational background, resembling dark energy, into quantum equations. This model successfully addresses key aspects of Objective-Collapse Theories, including resolving the 'tails' problem through the definition of quantum potential length in addition to the De Broglie length, beyond which coherent Schrödinger quantum behavior and wavefunction tails cannot be maintained. The SQHM emphasizes that an external environment is unnecessary, asserting that the quantum stochastic behavior leading to wave-function collapse can be an inherent property of a system in a spacetime with fluctuating metrics. Embedded in relativistic quantum mechanics, the theory establishes a coherent link between the uncertainty principle and the constancy of light speed, aligning seamlessly with finite information transmission speed. Within a fluctuating quantum system, the SQHM derives the indeterminacy relation between energy and time, offering insights into measurement processes impossible within a finite time interval in a truly quantum global system. Experimental validation is found in confirming the Lindemann constant for solid lattice melting points and the transition from fluid to superfluid states. The SQHM's self-consistency lies in its ability to describe wavefunction collapse and the measure process. Additionally, the theory resolves the Pre-existing Reality problem by showing that large-scale systems naturally decay into decoherent states stable in time. Continuing, the paper demonstrates that the physical dynamics of SQHM can be analogized to a computer simulation employing optimization procedures for realization. This perspective elucidates the concept of time in contemporary reality and enriches our comprehension of free will. The overall framework introduces an irreversible process impacting the manifestation of macroscopic reality at the present time, asserting that the multiverse exists solely in future states, with the past comprising the formed universe after the current moment. Decoherence at the present time functions as a reduction of the multiverse to a single universe. The macroscopic reality, characterized by fractal consistency where microscopic domains with quantum properties coexist, provides insights into how our consciousness apprehends dynamic reality, the spontaneous emergence of gravity in discrete spacetime evolution, and the attainment of the classical General Relativity limit in Quantum Loop Gravity and Causal Dynamical Triangulation. The Simulation Analogy highlights a strategy focused on minimizing information processing, facilitating the universal simulation in solving its predetermined problem. From within, reality becomes the manifestation of specific physical laws emerging from the inherent structure of the simulation devised to address its particular issue. In this context, the reality simulation appears to employ an entropic optimization strategy, minimizing information loss while efficiently compressing data in line with the simulation's intended purpose.
Modern physics faces a constellation of foundational puzzles: the Big Bang singularity, time's arrow, dark matter and dark energy, the cosmological constant problem, fine-tuning, quantum measurement, and quantum gravity unification. This Perspective proposes a unified resolution grounded in complexity-driven selection from diverse quantum paths. Prior to the Big Bang, reality comprises a pre-temporal quantum substrate (lacking classical time coordinate but governed by unitary quantum evolution), evolving reversibly across multiple trajectories—including opposing time arrows. The Big Bang marks an emergence threshold (λ) where decoherence locks spacetime parameters, yielding our classical universe as a "survivor" of local emergence rather than a closed totality. Dark matter and dark energy represent unevolved quantum paths—residuals exerting gravitational influence without full manifestation. This framework reframes cosmology as the study of layered emergence, dissolving "why" questions into "when/how" selection dynamics, with testable predictions in CMB perturbations, quantum decoherence experiments, and gravitational wave observations. By shifting from reductionism to emergentism, it suggests a universal pattern: threshold-gated emergence from diverse substrates, applicable from the cosmos to consciousness.
Perceived reality is an illusion. We exist in a universal quantum geometrical system that operates because of consciousness, not in isolation from it.Consciousness is not a byproduct of matter.Matter is arguably a by-product of consciousness, as matter is essentially structurally indistinct and far less tangible than what classical, materialist science has led us to believe.Consciousness stimulates excitations and changes in the quantum field; the omnipresent energy baseline field of the universe. This facilitates quantum collapse of probability waveforms that existed in super-position prior to this process.Reality is manifested initially via sound, and secondarily, via light, both of which are fundamentally quantum information data streams that encode holographic, atomic/quantum field geometrical constructs. These encoded quantum/sound/light geometrical formations, are essentially, reality. The classical physical world that we perceive and experience, and the nebulous, nonlinear, and exceptional nature of quantum mechanics, are potentially irreconcilable.Arguably, the only way this is not the case, is if an intermediary processing modality of physics can be found, one that bridges the diametrically opposed features of classical and quantum physics by incorporating and embodying, to varying extents, aspects from both. This research offers an appellation and classification for this third discipline: synthesist mechanics. If synthesist mechanics can be discovered, as our technological measuring capabilities continue to improve, which may render such a discovery possible, the inherent reality of both our perceived, classical reality, and the mechanics of quantum physics, will be affirmed. However, if synthesist mechanics cannot be found, as has proved to be the case thus far, we must accept the logical, deductive revelation this will pose, that ultimately, our perceived reality is nothing more than an interpretative illusion; a cognitive, translational impression that life subconsciously provides itself with in order to foster reflective, spatiotemporal, geometry-based interactions and experiences. This research confirms that we live in a self-rendering, generative illusion, which exists so that individualised shards of consciousness may interact with others.Ultimately, perceived reality is an illusion derived from the constant quantum interpretations that are made by consciousness via the quantum field. This process provides the unified consciousness behind reality with opportunities to experience, acknowledge, actualise, remove, or refine all possible variances of itself.Existence is the quantum dance consciousness performs in the darkness so that it may illuminate itself.
A completely non-statistical non-linear non-unitary framework in which "God does not play dice ..." (Einstein) that describes the physical foundations of consciousness is presented for the first time. At its core is the insight that the missing link between current physical descriptions of reality and a credible physical framework for consciousness is provided by post-quantum mechanics (PQM): the extension of statistical linear unitary quantum mechanics for closed systems to a locally-retrocausal[i] non-statistical non-linear non-unitary theory for open systems through the introduction of a back-reaction potential and its implications. PQM is to orthodox QM as General Relativity (GR) is to Special Relativity (SR). PQM and GR both share the same metaphysical organizing principle that one-way actions without a compensating reaction or back-reaction means an incompleteness in the theoretical model leaving out important physical phenomena. We gleaned the final piece in the puzzle of how consciousness arises from the material world from a result relating to long range collective excitations in microtubules described by Stuart Hameroff in a recent Fetzer Foundation conference in London. Herbert Fröhlich suggested that almost any many-particle system when properly pumped far off thermodynamic equilibrium can be put into a robust macro-quantum coherent state immune from environmental decoherence. Indeed, we suggest that all life forms are an example of Frohlich coherence that is intimately connected with locally-retrocausal PQM back-reaction's violation of the de Broglie guidance equation that was assumed by Bohm in his 1952 pilot wave theory. Using nature as a guide combined with nano-technology points the way to the construction of naturally conscious artificial intelligence machines capable of hacking into current-day quantum cryptographic networks. Furthermore, one can imagine attaining the transhumanist agenda. For example, the consciousness of a genius like Stephen Hawking could be uploaded to the post-quantum Cloud and then downloaded to a healthy body or android.
