Abstract

Abstract We analyze the quantum correlations, the quantum-memory-assisted entropic uncertainty (QMA-EUR), and its lower bound in a quadruple quantum dot device for two charge qubits. Herein, we select incompatible Pauli operators σ ^ x and σ ^ z as a pair of observables of interest for the measurement of particle A, and the uncertainty can be predicted from the entanglement of particle A with quantum memory B . We explore the dynamics of quantum discord and QMA-EUR, taking into account the effects of electron temperature, energy offsets, tunneling coupling, and the strength of coupling (i.e., the Coulomb interaction between electrons). Interestingly, our results indicate that there are certain adjustable parameters that can be tuned to suppress the entropy uncertainty bound and enhance quantum correlations.

Quantum correlation and entropic uncertainty in a quantum-dot system

Ying-Yue Yang, Lijuan Li, Liu Ye +1 more

We explore the dynamical behaviors of the measurement uncertainty and quantum correlation for a vertical quantum-dot system in the presence of magnetic field, including electron-electron interaction and Coulomb-blocked systems. Stemming from the quantum-memory-assisted entropic uncertainty relation, the uncertainty of interest is associated with temperature and parameters related to the magnetic field. Interestingly, the temperature has two kinds of influences on the variation of measurement uncertainty with respect to the magnetic-field-related parameters. We also discuss the relation between the lower bound of Berta et al. and the quantum discord. It is found that there is a natural competition between the quantum discord and the entropy min Π i B S Π i B ( ρ A | B ) . Finally, we bring in two improved bounds to offer a more precise limit to the entropic uncertainty.

Probing the entropic uncertainty bound and quantum correlations in a quantum dot system

Soroush Haseli, Saeed Haddadi, Mohammad Reza Pourkarimi

Abstract The uncertainty principle is one of the most comprehensive and fundamental concepts in quantum theory and it states that it is not possible to simultaneously measure two incompatible observables with high accuracy. In particular, we show that the entropic uncertainty relation that uses quantum memory is one of the most useful entropic uncertainty relations. In this work, we consider a quantum dot system as a solid-state system which is in the thermal regime, and we then probe the quantum correlations and the quantum-memory-assisted entropic uncertainty bound in this type of system. Interestingly, our results show that there are some system parameters that can be adjusted to suppress the entropic uncertainty bound and improve quantum correlations.

Entropic Uncertainty Relations with Quantum Memory in Accelerated Frames via Unruh-DeWitt Detectors

Ming-Ming Du, Hong-Wei Li, Shu-Ting Shen +5 more

Quantum uncertainty is deeply linked to quantum correlations and relativistic motion. The entropic uncertainty relation with quantum memory offers a powerful way to study how shared entanglement affects measurement precision. However, under acceleration, the Unruh effect can degrade quantum correlations, raising questions about the reliability of QMA-EUR in such settings. Here, we investigate the QMA-EUR for two uniformly accelerating Unruh-DeWitt detectors coupled to a massless scalar field. Using the Kossakowski-Lindblad master equation, we calculate the entropic uncertainty, its lower bound, and the tightness of the relation under different Unruh temperatures. We find that acceleration does not always increase the lower bound on the uncertainty relation. Depending on the initial correlations between the detectors, it may either increase or decrease. This behavior results from the interplay between quantum discord and minimal missing information. Interestingly, a higher quantum discord does not necessarily lead to lower uncertainty.

Quantum-memory-assisted entropic uncertainty relation induced by encoding entanglement in two semiconductor microcavities

Heba Allhibi, Fahad Aljuaydi, Moteb K. Alotaibi +1 more

The quantum-memory-assisted entropic uncertainty relation (QMA-EUR) plays an important role in quantum information theory, as it provides insights into the fundamental limits of measurement accuracy in entangled quantum systems. This paper investigates the QMA-EUR, which is activated by the entanglement between two quantum dots (QDs) confined in semiconductor microcavities that are coupled by an optical fiber. The investigation focuses on the dynamic characteristics of the QMA-EUR under the effects of dissipation. Moreover, two distinct initial states of the two QDs are examined: correlated and uncorrelated. In the initial uncorrelated state, the evolution of the QMA-EUR and entanglement is influenced by the coupling strengths between the QDs and cavities, as well as between the fiber and cavities, and by the detuning. In contrast, if the two QDs are initially in a maximally correlated state, these couplings and the detuning considerably increase the stability of both the entanglement and the QMA-EUR. They also extend the time intervals during which Alice can precisely predict the measurement results. Notably, strong couplings, in conjunction with an initially maximally entangled state, increase the robustness of the quantum memory mechanism.

Decoherence of Entanglement and Quantum Memory Dynamics of Two Strongly Coupled Semiconductor Quantum Dots

Imed Kedim, Fahad Aljuaydi, Atta Ur Rahman +1 more

Abstract This study investigates the dynamics of two‐qubit quantum‐memory‐assisted (QMA) entropic uncertainty relation and entanglement in a system comprising two strongly coupled semiconductor pair quantum dots (SPQD). The influences of detuning, tunnel coupling, dipole‐dipole interaction, and intrinsic decoherence on the system's behavior are explored. Without decoherence, periodic fluctuations in entropic uncertainty driven by the inter‐dot coupling parameter , are observed, while entanglement remains negligible, reflecting the separable nature of the initial two‐qubit states. Introducing decoherence significantly alters these dynamics, with even low decoherence rates, an increased uncertainty and accelerated loss of coherence are observed when coupled with strong dipole interactions. The findings elucidate the complex interplay between entropic uncertainty and entanglement under intrinsic decoherence, highlighting challenges in maintaining quantum coherence. This work enhances the understanding of quantum dynamics in strongly coupled qubit systems and opens the doors for research to mitigate decoherence effects and improve quantum information processing.

Entropic Uncertainty for Two Coupled Dipole Spins Using Quantum Memory under the Dzyaloshinskii–Moriya Interaction

Ahmad N. Khedr, Abdel‐Baset A. Mohamed, Abdel‐Haleem Abdel‐Aty +3 more

-axis, the current study explores the quantum-memory-assisted entropic uncertainty relation (QMA-EUR), entropy mixedness and the concurrence two-spin entanglement. Quantum entanglement is reduced at increased temperature values, but inflation uncertainty and mixedness are enhanced. The considered quantum effects are stabilized to their stationary values at high temperatures. The two-spin entanglement is entirely repressed if the D-M interaction is disregarded, and the entropic uncertainty and entropy mixedness reach their maximum values for equal coupling rates. Rather than the concurrence, the entropy mixedness can be a proper indicator of the nature of the entropic uncertainty. The effect of model parameters (D-M coupling and dipole-dipole spin) on the quantum dynamic effects in thermal environment temperature is explored. The results reveal that the model parameters cause significant variations in the predicted QMA-EUR.
