Probabilistic quantum key distribution

Tzonelih Hwang, Chia‐Wei Tsai, Song‐Kong Chong

This work presents a new concept in quantum key distribution called the probabilistic quantum key distribution (PQKD) protocol, which is based on the measurement uncertainty in quantum phenomena. It allows two mutually untrusted communicants to negotiate an unpredictable key that has a randomness guaranteed by the laws of quantum mechanics. In contrast to conventional QKD (e.g., BB84) in which one communicant has to trust the other for key distribution or quantum key agreement (QKA) in which the communicants have to artificially contribute subkeys to a negotiating key, PQKD is a natural and simple method for distributing a secure random key. The communicants in the illustrated PQKD take Einstein-Podolsky-Rosen (EPR) pairs as quantum resources and then use entanglement swapping and Bell-measurements to negotiate an unpredictable key.

Adaptive Quantum Key Distribution Algorithm

Jincheng Zhang

This paper introduces an Adaptive Quantum Key Distribution (QKD) algorithm designed to dynamically adjust key distribution strategies based on the current state of the key distribution. Traditional QKD algorithms rely on static parameters, limiting their adaptability and potential for improved security and efficiency. Our proposed algorithm leverages the inherent dynamic properties of quantum key distribution to automatically adjust key distribution based on observed key characteristics, offering enhanced robustness and operational performance.

Quantum key distribution based on Orbital Angular Momentum

Yuan Qian, Shengmei Zhao

How to improve the key distribution efficiency is key technique in quantum key distribution. An efficient quantum key distribution (QKD) protocol based on Orbital Angular Momentum (OAM) states in the d-dimension Hilbert space is presented in this paper. In the protocol, each photon carries log2d bits information, and the key distribution efficiency is improved greatly. In addition, the numerical simulation for this key distribution protocol are also given to show the availability of the protocol.
