Improving the fidelity of teleportation through noisy channels using parity-time symmetric operation

Abstract

Abstract Quantum teleportation, a cornerstone of quantum information processing, faces critical challenges from environmental noise such as amplitude damping (AD), which degrades entanglement and reduces teleportation fidelity below the classical limit of 2/3. This study investigates the role of parity-time ( PT ) symmetric operations, a type of non-Hermitian operation, in enhancing teleportation fidelity under AD noise. We first derive the explicit dynamics of entangled states subjected to AD noise using Kraus operators, showing that the average fidelity decays monotonically with increasing decoherence strength. By introducing local PT symmetric operations, we show the average fidelity exhibits periodic linear oscillations, with minimum values increasing with non-Hermiticity and remaining above 2/3, while maximum fidelity consistently reaches the optimal value of 1. These results confirm that non-Hermitian operations effectively protect quantum teleportation fidelity, maintaining stability and optimal performance despite parameter variations. Experimental feasibility is discussed using nuclear magnetic resonance systems with duality quantum computing techniques.

Improving the fidelity of teleportation through correlated amplitude damping decoherence using parity-time symmetric operation

Yi-Ting Wen, Yang Leng

Abstract Quantum teleportation fidelity is severely degraded by environmental noise, especially correlated amplitude damping (CAD) decoherence with non-negligible memory effects, which is more practical in high-rate transmission. This paper investigates enhancing teleportation fidelity under CAD noise using parity-time ( PT ) symmetric operation, we first analyze teleportation dynamics under CAD, showing its average fidelity outperforms uncorrelated amplitude damping. Moreover, we show that the PT symmetric operation could drastically enhance the fidelity in CAD noise. Results demonstrate PT symmetric operation significantly boost average fidelity, which remains above the classical limit of 2/3. Optimized via adjusting non-Hermitian parameters, the fidelity can even reach 1. Our results extend the ability of PT symmetric operation as a technique in various quantum information processes which are affected by correlated noise.

Effect of parity-time symmetric operator on quantum teleportation under the non-Markovian environment

Fei Chen, Yang Leng

Abstract We investigate the effect of local parity-time ( PT ) symmetric operation on quantum teleportation in non-Markovian environments, focusing on resonant and off-resonant regimes. An exactly solvable two-qubit model with independent structured reservoirs is built to derive the average teleportation fidelity. We show that the PT symmetric operation lead to oscillatory fidelity decay with local revivals instead of monotonic decay, and optimally PT symmetric operation can stably keep the average fidelity above the classical 2/3 limit even in off-resonant non-Markovian regimes, effectively protecting the quantum advantage of teleportation.

Quantum teleportation under non-Hermitian operations

Yangchen Wu, Huangqiuchen Wang, Zi-Hao Li +4 more

We investigate the standard quantum teleportation protocol for a single-qubit state, focusing on the scenario where the qubit undergoes a class of non-unitary evolution governed by parity-time ( \mathcal{PT} 𝒫 𝒯 )-symmetric non-Hermitian Hamiltonians. Additionally, we examine the case where the entangled pair shared by Alice and Bob is exposed to a noise channel. In the \mathcal{PT} 𝒫 𝒯 -symmetric regime, the teleportation fidelity exhibits time-dependent oscillations. Compared to the conventional case without non-Hermitian operations, periodic enhancements in fidelity are observed, and we analytically derive their dependence on the parameters of both the non-Hermitian Hamiltonian and noise channel. When the \mathcal{PT} 𝒫 𝒯 symmetry is broken, the fidelity ceases to oscillate and instead decays to a steady value. Notably, even in this regime, non-Hermitian operations can yield fidelity improvements over conventional schemes. We further investigate the teleportation of quantum Fisher information (QFI) and find that its evolutionary behavior differs from that of fidelity. Analytical results reveal that QFIs corresponding to different estimated parameters exhibit distinct outcomes at Bob’s receiving end during teleportation. Furthermore, we derive a trade-off inequality between fidelity and QFI, offering a theoretical tool to coordinately optimize these two quantities in the teleportation process.

The fidelity of controlled quantum teleportation in a noisy environment

Wen-Jing Wei, Feng-Li Yan, Ting Gao

In this work, we investigate controlled quantum teleportation in the presence of noisy channels acting on the three-qubit resource state. We employ a series of generalized noisy channels that bridge the dephasing channels and amplitude damping channels while encompassing extensive intermediate scenarios. We provide an in-depth analysis of the degradation of the maximal average fidelity and the optimal average fidelity in controlled quantum teleportation induced by such noisy channels by deriving the analytical expression and examining several special cases. The analytical expression shows that attaining the optimal average fidelity requires Charlie's cooperation in performing a measurement at suitably chosen angles, and is also related to the initial state and the channel parameters. Our analysis reveals that the optimal average fidelity does not always decrease monotonically with the evolution parameter, instead, it first decreases and then increases. This non-monotonic behavior depends on the entanglement of the initial resource state, as well as on the parameters of the channel traversed by the first qubit.

The role of noisy channels in quantum teleportation

Sodeif Ahadpour, Фороузан Мирмасоуди

In quantum information theory, effects of quantum noise on teleportation are undeniable. Hence,we investigate the effect of noisy channels including amplitude damping, phase damping, depolarizing and phase ip on the teleported state between Alice and Bob where they share an entangled state by using atom-eld interaction state. We analyze the delity and quantum correlations as a function of decoherence rates and time scale of a state to be teleported. We observe that the average delityand quantum correlations accurately depend on types of noise acting on quantum channels. It is found that atom-eld interaction states are affected by amplitude damping channel are more useful for teleportation than when the shared qubites are affected by noisy channels such as AD channel and phase ip. We also observe that if the quantum channels is subject to phase ip noise, the average delity reproduces initial quantum correlations to possible values. On the other hand, not only all the noisy quantum channels do not always destroy average delity but also they can yield the highest delity in noisy conditions. In the current demonstration, our results provide that the average delity can have larger than 2/3 in front of the noise of named other channels with increasing decoherenc strength. Success in quantum states transfer in the present noise establishes the important of studing noisy channels.

The efficiency of quantum teleportation with three-qubit entangled state in a noisy environment

Chang-Yue Zhang, Zhu‐Jun Zheng, Zhao-Bing Fan +1 more

Quantum teleportation plays a significant role in the field of quantum communication. This paper investigates quantum teleportation through a noisy environment by using GHZ state and non-standard W state as quantum channels. We analyze the efficiency of quantum teleportation by solving analytically a master equation in Lindblad form. Following the quantum teleportation protocol, we obtain the fidelity of quantum teleportation as a function of evolution time. The calculation results show that the teleportation fidelity using non-standard W is higher in comparison to GHZ state at the same evolution time. Moreover, we consider the efficiency of teleportation with weak measurements and reverse quantum measurement under amplitude damping noise. Our analysis suggests that the teleportation fidelity using non-standard W is also more robust to noise than GHZ state in the same conditions. Interestingly, we found that weak measurement and its reverse operation have no positive effect on the efficiency of quantum teleportation by using GHZ and non-standard W state in the amplitude damping noise environment. In addition, we also demonstrate the efficiency of quantum teleportation can be improved by making minor modifications to the protocol.
