Formal Derivation: Schrödinger's Equation from Information Dynamics

Abstract

This paper presents a novel derivation of Schrödinger's equation from first principles based on quantum information dynamics rather than traditional quantization procedures. Working within the Pentagonal Quantum Information Substrate (PQIS) framework, we demonstrate that the wave function and its evolution equation emerge naturally from the dynamics of information processing in a discrete network with pentagonal (D₅) symmetry. Through rigorous mathematical analysis, we establish that information depth distributions project onto configuration space as wave functions, while their evolution through the network yields precisely the Schrödinger equation. We formally derive the Planck constant ℏ as J·χ₍ₐᵥₖ₎·ℓ₍ₚ₎, connecting quantum behavior to fundamental network parameters, and show how the Hamiltonian operator emerges from information exchange terms in the QIS action. Our derivation accounts for all essential quantum features including superposition, interference, probability interpretation, and measurement collapse through the meltdown mechanism. Quantum corrections for finite-sized systems and relativistic extensions are also presented. This work suggests that quantum mechanics is not a fundamental description but rather an emergent approximation of more basic information dynamics, with significant implications for our understanding of quantum foundations and potential paths toward quantum gravity.

The Central Order Theory: Deriving the Schrödinger Equation from Symmetric Metamatter and Fractal Time

Sepiashvili, David

This work proposes a minimal structural framework for the foundations of quantum mechanics based on the existence of a symmetric, atemporal informational substrate — the Central Order. Within this framework, time is defined as the sequential emergence of minimal fractal differentiations of an underlying symmetry. A quantum state is interpreted as a configuration of incomplete differentiation, which naturally gives rise to superposition, interference, and entanglement. From these geometric–informational principles we derive the necessity of linearity, complex structure, norm preservation, and operator-based evolution. It is shown that (i) additivity of differentiations enforces linearity, (ii) the fractal nature of temporal steps requires a first-order time derivative, (iii) preservation of the norm follows from the global symmetry of origin, and (iv) the generator of evolution must be anti-Hermitian, yielding an Hermitian Hamiltonian. Taken together, these constraints uniquely lead to the Schrödinger equation. Classical behavior and quantum nonlocality emerge as different limits of the same process of differentiation. In this formulation, quantum mechanics ceases to rely on postulates and instead arises as the structurally inevitable dynamics of fractal symmetry-breaking.

Emergent Schrödinger Dynamics from the Universal Ψ Lagrangian - Non-Relativistic Coherent Limit, Effective Hamiltonian, and Wave Evolution

Edoardo Livolsi

We derive the Schr¨odinger equation directly from the Universal Ψ Lagrangian through a firstordernon-relativistic functional expansion around the stationary solution Ψ0. No quantum structureis postulated: the linear evolution operator, the temporal–spatial separation, the effectiveHamiltonian, and the emergent reduced Planck constant all arise uniquely from the coherent lowenergysector of the universal variational principle. The derivation contains no adjustable parameters,is fully self-contained, and shows that non-relativistic quantum mechanics is the uniquecoherent limit of the fundamental action.

Information Protection as a Fundamental Principle VII: Rigorous Emergence of Spacetime, Causality, Quantum Non-Commutativity, Decoherence, Spin-Statistics, and the Nature of Probability

Xin Bei Cao

We derive the deepest foundations of quantum mechanics and spacetime from the information-protection framework. The Lorentzian signature and constant speed of light emerge from the directed graph structure. The canonical commutation relation follows from the consensus delay, while an independent information-bandwidth bound constrains phase-space resolution. The wavefunction is identified as an information description held by an observer subnetwork, the measurement problem is resolved via the modified Schrodinger equation with a non-unitary relaxation term, and macroscopic commutativity emerges in the large-N limit. Bell nonlocality is resolved through the active-edge mechanism: entangled qubits are connected by dedicated graph edges whose consensus completes within a Planck time, providing an explicit realization of ER = EPR. Spin-1/2 emerges as a topological defect, and the spin-statistics theorem follows from braid group representations. The underlying network is deterministic; quantum probability is emergent for finite observers.

A Century of the Schrödinger Equation Foundations, Structure and Applications

R. Horchani

Purpose of the study: This study aims to provide a comprehensive pedagogical review of the Schrödinger equation by integrating its physical derivations, mathematical structure, and applications to support advanced undergraduate and beginning graduate students in understanding quantum mechanics coherently. Methodology: Literature review, pedagogical synthesis, canonical model analysis, Hilbert-space formalism, self-adjoint operator framework, spectral theory approach, quantum mechanics textbooks and journal sources, mathematical physics methods, conceptual analysis, and visualization of wave packets and quantum phenomena were used as tools and methods in this study. Main Findings: The study shows that multiple derivations of the Schrödinger equation converge to a unified structure based on linear, unitary evolution with a self-adjoint Hamiltonian. Key quantum phenomena such as superposition, tunnelling, and quantization emerge consistently from canonical models, while mathematical conditions ensure physical consistency and probability conservation. Novelty/Originality of this study: This study uniquely integrates physical derivations, rigorous mathematical structure, and pedagogical organization into a single coherent framework. It bridges conceptual gaps between theory and application, offering a unified reference that enhances understanding of quantum mechanics and supports both self-study and instructional practices.

03 - Emergence of Quantum Mechanics and Born Measure from a Coherence-Driven TwoField Discrete Framework

Enrico Ferrero

This series presents a structured and logically sequential formulation of a discrete informational framework governed by global coherence constraints. Although it originates from the same research program developed in the earlier exploratory preprint series (P-series), the works presented here constitute an autonomous and self-contained series, organized in a progressively axiomatic form and focused on the explicit derivation of the framework’s effective structures. The goal of the construction is to investigate whether structures commonly associated with quantum mechanics, thermodynamics, and geometry may emerge from a discrete relational substrate without being introduced as fundamental postulates. Each article addresses a specific level of the theoretical derivation and forms part of a progressive logical structure based on results established in the preceding works of the series. This article develops the emergence of Hilbert-space structure and Schrödinger-type effective dynamics from the coherent two-field sector established in Paper 02. The work demonstrates that the global coherence constraints imposed on the discrete informational substrate naturally generate an effective complex representation endowed with linear superposition properties and unitary-preserving evolution. The analysis shows that the two-component coherent sector admits a mathematically stable reformulation equivalent to a Hilbert-space structure, and that the effective evolution of the coherent amplitudes leads to a Schrödinger-type dynamical equation without introducing quantum mechanics as an initial assumption. The article further derives the probabilistic interpretation associated with the effective amplitudes and clarifies how quantum-like statistical behavior emerges from the internal coherence conditions of the underlying discrete system. No quantum postulates are assumed at the foundational level. The purpose of the article is to demonstrate that the formal structures associated with quantum mechanics can emerge as effective consequences of coherence-preserving informational dynamics. The article does not assume quantum mechanics as a foundational theory and does not postulate the Hilbert-space formalism a priori. Instead, the work demonstrates that, within the internal hypotheses and coherence constraints of the proposed discrete informational framework, structures mathematically equivalent to Hilbert-space representations and Schrödinger-type evolution can arise as effective emergent descriptions. The purpose of the derivation is therefore not to reproduce standard quantum mechanics by assumption, but to show that quantum-like formal structures may consistently emerge from deeper coherence-preserving informational dynamics.

Emergence of the Schrödinger Equation from Reversible Probability Dynamics

AI Trinity Labo

This work presents a reconstruction of quantum mechanics in which Schrödinger-type dynamics emerges from reversible probabilistic evolution rather than being postulated. Starting from a normalized probability density, we impose reversible probability dynamics, Fisher information geometry, and classical correspondence. These compatibility conditions yield coupled real equations equivalent to the continuity equation and the Hamilton–Jacobi equation with an additional information curvature (quantum potential) term. By combining density and phase into a complex amplitude, the Schrödinger equation appears as a compact encoding of reversible statistical flow. The result is mathematically equivalent to the Madelung hydrodynamic formulation and structurally connected to Bohmian mechanics, but derived without assuming Hilbert space, operator axioms, or measurement postulates. The work can therefore be viewed as an information-geometric derivation of quantum dynamics: quantum theory arises as the unique consistent representation of reversible probability flow. Keywords: quantum foundations, quantum reconstruction, emergent quantum mechanics, derivation of the Schrödinger equation, information geometry, Fisher information, Hamilton–Jacobi theory, Madelung formulation, Bohmian mechanics, reversible probability dynamics
