Abstract

Quantum teleportation, one of the most significant protocols in quantum information processing, allows the unembodied transfer of an unknown quantum state from one location to another distinct location. Here, we propose a scheme of continuous-variable quantum teleportation, wherein the two-mode Gaussian entangled state generated by a correlated spontaneous emission laser (CEL) system is used as a quantum resource. Initially, the two quantized cavity fields, in the form of single-mode Gaussian states characterized by the non-classicality and purity of the states, along with a strong classical field, are coupled to the gain medium of the CEL system. We consider a squeezed coherent state (SCS) for the teleportation process and calculate the time-dependent expression for its teleportation fidelity using the Wigner function formalism. In this framework, we thoroughly analyze the teleportation of the SCS, using its fidelity, for various parameters of the proposed system. We show that the amplified entanglement generated by the CEL system leads to an optimized fidelity for the teleportation of SCS.

Continuous variable quantum teleportation via entangled Gaussian state generated by a linear beam splitter

Haleema Sadia Qureshi, Shakir Ullah, Fazal Ghafoor

Abstract We theoretically implement the protocol of continuous variable quantum teleportation wherein Alice and Bob share a state built by a linear beam splitter as general two-mode Gaussian entangled state. Using the non-classicality and purity of the two single-mode Gaussian states employed initially at the input of the beam splitter, the unknown state teleportation protocol is explicitly implemented in terms of squeezing and phase space quadratures. We show that fidelity of the teleported state is maximal when the gain factor g is equal to 1 and gradually decreases when g deviates from 1 on either side. We further find that teleportation fidelity decreases when one of the input states of the beam splitter is replaced by the state of thermal photons.

Non-Gaussian entangled states and quantum teleportation of Schrödinger-cat states

Kaushik Parasuram Seshadreesan, Jonathan P Dowling, G. S. Agarwal

In continuous-variable quantum information, non-Gaussian entangled states that are obtained from Gaussian entangled states via photon subtraction are known to contain more entanglement. This makes them better resources for quantum information processing protocols, such as, quantum teleportation. We discuss the teleportation of non-Gaussian, non-classical Schrödinger-cat states of light using two-mode squeezed vacuum light that is made non-Gaussian via subtraction of a photon from each of the two modes. We consider the experimentally realizable cat states produced by subtracting a photon from the single-mode squeezed vacuum state. We discuss two figures of merit for the teleportation process, (a) the fidelity, and (b) the maximum negativity of the Wigner function at the output. We elucidate how the non-Gaussian entangled resource lowers the requirements on the amount of squeezing necessary to achieve any given fidelity of teleportation, or to achieve negative values of the Wigner function at the output.

A phase-space approach for performing continuous-variable quantum teleportation with a non-Gaussian resource

Ankita, Arpita Chatterjee

We present a detailed phase-space analysis of continuous-variable quantum teleportation using a photon-subtracted two-mode squeezed Fock state (PS-TMSFS) as an entangled resource. We investigate the performance of PS-TMSFS within the Braunstein-Kimble teleportation protocol. The resource-state preparation is described and the success probability related to the photon-subtraction process is derived analytically. The Wigner characteristic function of PS-TMSFS is calculated and then employed to determine the fidelity for input Gaussian and non-Gaussian states. The dependence of the success probability and the teleportation fidelity on the squeezing parameter and the beam-splitter transmissivity is analyzed for both symmetric and asymmetric photon-subtraction scenarios. This results that the symmetric photon subtraction consistently outperforms the corresponding asymmetric configurations with the $(2,2)$ configuration providing the highest teleportation fidelity among the considered PS-TMSFS resources. A significant improvement over the Gaussian two-mode squeezed vacuum (TMSV) resource is observed for teleporting Gaussian input states, particularly in the low-squeezing regime, whereas the relative advantage for non-Gaussian input states depends on the functioning resource parameters and gradually diminishes as squeezing increases.

Time-dependent quantum teleportation via a parametric converter

Haleema Sadia Qureshi, Shakir Ullah, Fazal Ghafoor

Abstract Quantum state teleportation is an important protocol that plays a pivotal role in various quantum information tasks. Here we theoretically investigate quantum state teleportation by exploiting a general two-mode Gaussian entangled state produced by a parametric converter when two single-mode Gaussian states (SMGSs) in terms of the non-classicality and purity are employed as inputs to the parametric converter. In particular, the time-dependent teleportation fidelity is analyzed with respect to the squeezing parameter and phase-space quadratures of the teleported squeezed coherent state. We show that the teleportation fidelity is maximal when ratio of the expectation values of photon number in the two modes of the evolved Gaussian entangled state is equal to 1. Quantum state teleportation in terms of the purity and non-classicality of the general two SMGSs seems to be a good choice for experimental realization of quantum communication and information processing.

Performance of a two-mode coherent superposed channel in continuous-variable quantum teleportation

Deepak, Arpita Chatterjee

Glauber's coherent state is denoted by $\ketα$ and its two-mode extension is represented by $\ket{α,β}$. In this work, we introduce a two-mode superposition operator $A=tab+ra^\dagger b^\dagger$, whose action on the two-mode coherent state produces the two-mode coherent superposed quantum state $\ketψ=(tab+ra^\dagger b^\dagger)\ket{α,β}$. We investigate the nonclassicality and quantum non-Gaussianity of this state by means of the Wigner distribution and Wigner logarithmic negativity. Once its intrinsic nonclassical and non-Gaussian structure is established, the state is employed as the entangled resource in the Braunstein-Kimble continuous-variable (CV) teleportation protocol. We compute the ideal teleportation fidelity for coherent and squeezed inputs and analyze how the strengths of nonclassicality and non-Gaussianity influence the teleportation efficiency. Our results identify specific parameter regimes where enhanced non-Gaussian features or increased nonclassicality enable fidelities beyond the classical threshold, thereby revealing the operational significance of engineered two-mode quantum states in CV quantum information processing.

Optimizing realistic continuous-variable quantum teleportation with non-Gaussian resources

Ankita, Arpita Chatterjee

In this work, we investigate the performance of non-Gaussian entangled resources in continuous-variable quantum teleportation within a realistic setting. We describe the characteristic functions of three distinct entangled resources, a two-mode squeezed vacuum state, a two-mode photon-subtracted squeezed state, and a two-mode photon-added squeezed state. We extend the theoretical analysis by Yang et al. to include the realistic experimental conditions such as photon losses, imperfect measurements which typically affect continuous-variable quantum teleportation. Our results demonstrate that even in non-ideal situations, the photon-subtracted squeezed state outperforms the other two resources in the low squeezing regime, keeping fidelity above the classical threshold that suggests the robustness of photon-subtracted squeezed state in practical teleportation applications. We further analyze the EPR correlations of these entangled resources, revealing that the photon-subtracted squeezed state exhibits stronger EPR correlations than the original two-mode squeezed vacuum state and the two-mode photon-added squeezed state. This study merges theoretical models with realistic imperfections and utilizes non-Gaussian entanglement into high-fidelity quantum teleportation.
