Abstract

Abstract We report about some obvious and severe flaws in Chen Yang’s paper titled ‘Wave-like variables of a classical particle and their connections to quantum mechanics,’ published in the Eur. J. Phys. 38 015401, (2017) and in a follow-up paper of the same author, where the errors are repeated, namely Eur. J. Phys. 39 035406, (2018).

Reply to Comments on ‘Wave-like variables of a classical particle and their connections to quantum mechanics’ ( Eur. J. Phys. 2017, 38 , 015401)

Chen Yang

Abstract In the commentary (Comments on ‘Wave-like variables of a classical particle and their connections to quantum mechanics’ Eur. J. Phys. 2017, 38, 015401), the authors only consider the trivial solution (e.g. real constant) of the dynamical variables and did not see the non-trivial solution that carried the magnitude and phase. The validation of wave-like solution is provided as a simple example from complex analysis.

Comment on “Weak values and the past of a quantum particle”

Lev Vaidman A

In a recent paper, Hance et al. [Phys. Rev. Res. 5, 023048 (2023)] criticized recent proposals connecting weak values and the past of a quantum particle. I argue that their conclusion follows from a conceptual error in understanding the approach to the past of the particle they discuss.
