Multipartite magnon entanglement and collective steering in cavity magnonics

Abstract

In this paper, we propose a scalable scheme to prepare multipartite entanglement and collective steering of four magnons, which are placed into four separate transmission line resonators. When the four cavity modes are coupled to a common superconducting qubit, the strong coherent coupling between the magnons and qubit can be established through virtual photon exchange. In the dressed picture, it is of interest to explore two types of interaction under different frequency-matching conditions, being responsible for the continuous-variable quadripartite Greenberger-Horne-Zeilinger and cluster entanglement. Furthermore, the generation of collective steering originates from the dissipation channel of Bogoliubov mode rather than from the conventional asymmetry of the system parameters. The multipartite entanglement in this solid-state device may find potential applications in constructing macroscopic quantum networks and the collective steering may be useful in one-sided device-independent quantum secret sharing.

Controlling magnon-magnon entanglement and steering by atomic coherence

Lili Zheng, Wenxing Shi, Kang Shen +2 more

Here we show that it is possible to control magnon-magnon entanglement in a hybrid magnon-atom-cavity system based on atomic coherence. In a four-level V-type atomic system, two strong fields are applied to drive two dipole-allowed transitions and two microwave cavity modes are coupled with two dipole forbidden transitions as well as two magnon modes simultaneously. It is found that the stable magnon-magnon entanglement, one-way steering and two-way EPR steering can be generated and controlled by atomic coherence according to the following two points: (i) the coherent coupling between magnon and atoms is established via exchange of virtual photons; (ii) the dissipation of magnon mode is dominant over amplification since one of the atomic states mediated one-channel interaction always keeps empty. The coherent control of magnon-magnon correlations provides an effective approach to modify macroscopic quantum effects using the laser-driven atomic systems.

Parametric controllable one-way quantum steering induced by four-wave mixing in cavity magnonics

Nan Wang, Zhi‐Bo Yang, Shiyan Li +2 more

Abstract Quantum steering plays a crucial role in quantum communication and one-way quantum computation. Here, we study quantum steering between two magnon modes in a cavity-magnonics system by applying a two-photon drive field to the microwave cavity. The two magnon modes are entangled and the one-way steering can be implemented when the four-wave mixing is triggered. Different from most schemes that use the dissipation of the system to control quantum steering, in our scheme the one-way steering can be modulated on demand by adjusting the coherent coupling ratio between the two magnons and the cavity, which provides a flexible and feasible way in experiments. We also reveal that the directionality of quantum steering is related to the mode populations, i.e., the mode with a larger population dominants the steering. Our study has high manipulability and may provide a promising platform for one-way quantum computing and communications based on macroscopic entanglement state.

Multipartite entanglement and one-way steering in magnon frequency comb

Qianjun Zheng, Yunshan Cao, Peng Yan

Abstract We theoretically demonstrate that multipartite entanglement and one-way Einstein–Podolsky–Rosen (EPR) steering in a magnon frequency comb (MFC) can be generated in a hybrid magnon–skyrmion system. When the system is driven by two microwave fields at the magnonic whispering gallery mode (mWGM) and the skyrmion, the skyrmion can be simultaneously entangled with three magnon modes of the MFC and the entanglement of the first-order magnon pair in the MFC also appears. The results show that the perfect one-way steering between the skyrmion and the three magnons can be obtained. Interestingly, the steering direction can be manipulated by controlling the amplitudes of two drive fields, which provides flexibility in controlling the asymmetry of the EPR steering and may well have practical applications. Moreover, the genuine tripartite entanglement among the skyrmion and the first-order magnon pair can be achieved with appropriate parameters in the steady state. Our work exhibits that the MFC has great potential in preparing multi-mode entanglement resources, with promising applications in quantum communication.

Generating entanglement between microwave photons and qubits in multiple cavities coupled by a superconducting qutrit

Chui‐Ping Yang, Qi-Ping Su, Shi‐Biao Zheng +1 more

We discuss how to generate entangled coherent states of four microwave resonators (a.k.a. cavities) coupled by a three-level superconducting device (qutrit). We also show that a Greenberger-Horne-Zeilinger (GHZ) state of four superconducting qubits embedded in four different resonators can be created with this scheme. In principle, the proposed method can be extended to create an entangled coherent state of $n$ resonators and to prepare a (GHZ) state of $n$ qubits distributed over $n$ cavities in a quantum network. In addition, it is noted that four resonators coupled by a coupler qutrit may be used as a basic circuit block to build a two-dimensional quantum network, which is useful for scalable quantum information processing.

Remote asymmetric Einstein-Podolsky-Rosen steering of magnons via a single pathway of Bogoliubov dissipation

Deyi Kong, Jun Xu, Ya Tian +2 more

We propose a scheme to generate remote asymmetric Einstein-Podolsky-Rosen (EPR) steering of two magnon modes in a hybrid ferromagnet-superconductor system. In our scheme, the indirect coherent coupling between two distant magnons and a $\mathrm{\ensuremath{\Delta}}$-type superconducting atom is established via exchange of virtual photons in two dispersive cavities. As a consequence, the artificial atom acting as a reservoir can produce asymmetrical magnon-magnon steering via a single dissipation channel. Interestingly, we find that the steering directivity is determined by cooling either Bogoliubov mode selectively rather than increasing the extra noise as in conventional schemes. This provides a novel idea to prepare remote EPR steering in solid devices, which may find potential applications in quantum information processing.

Controlling Stationary One-Way Quantum Steering in Cavity Magnonics

Zhi‐Bo Yang, Xuan-De Liu, Xin‐Yi Yin +3 more

We show how to implement stationary one-way quantum steering with strong entanglement in a cavity magnonic system that consists of two magnon modes and a microwave cavity. The cavity is driven by a squeezed vacuum field generated by a flux-driven Josephson parameter amplifier and coupled to two Kittel modes via magnetic dipole interaction. We find that the steering directivity only depends on the ratio of two coupling rates (i.e., the ratio of coherent information exchange frequencies) and is barely affected by the dissipation of the system. Meanwhile, the entanglement and steering can be significantly enhanced due to the squeezed vacuum field and thus are more robust against thermal noises. This provides an active method to manipulate the steering directivity instead of adding asymmetric losses or noises to subsystems at the cost of reducing steerability.
