The integration of QA with PPO led to a 25% increase in total return, a 15% enhancement in Sharpe ratio, a 10% reduction in maximum drawdown, and a 20% decrease in transaction costs. These results highlight the effectiveness of combining quantum optimization techniques with reinforcement learning for superior trading strategy development. The significance of this study lies in its contribution to advancing real-time trading strategy optimization through the synergistic use of machine learning and quantum computing. This approach offers potential applications across various financial sectors and domains requiring sophisticated real-time decision-making and optimization. Future research is suggested to further explore the scalability and practical implementation of this integrated methodology in more complex and larger-scale optimization problems.

This article explores the transformative role of quantum-inspired AI in optimizing financial practices, particularly within high-frequency trading (HFT) in the financial sector. As HFT operates in an environment of rapid transactions and significant market volatility, the need for advanced optimization techniques becomes paramount. Quantum-inspired algorithms leverage principles from quantum mechanics, such as superposition and tunneling, to enhance various aspects of trading strategies. These algorithms enable rapid optimization of asset allocation, real-time trade execution, and proactive fraud detection, effectively addressing the challenges posed by traditional financial models. By facilitating simultaneous evaluation of multiple strategies and enabling real-time analysis of complex trading patterns, quantum-inspired AI significantly improves decision-making speed and accuracy. The financial implications of this advancement are profound, leading to higher profitability, improved market integrity, and enhanced trust among market participants. Ultimately, integrating quantum-inspired AI in finance represents a crucial step towards harnessing cutting-edge technology to reshape trading dynamics, paving the way for innovative strategies that can adapt to the evolving landscape of financial markets. This study underscores the potential of quantum-inspired AI to redefine operational efficiency in finance, ensuring competitiveness in an increasingly complex trading environment.
We propose a hybrid quantum-classical reinforcement learning framework for sector rotation in the Taiwan stock market. Our system employs Proximal Policy Optimization (PPO) as the backbone algorithm and integrates both classical architectures (LSTM, Transformer) and quantum-enhanced models (QNN, QRWKV, QASA) as policy and value networks. An automated feature engineering pipeline extracts financial indicators from capital share data to ensure consistent model input across all configurations. Empirical backtesting reveals a key finding: although quantum-enhanced models consistently achieve higher training rewards, they underperform classical models in real-world investment metrics such as cumulative return and Sharpe ratio. This discrepancy highlights a core challenge in applying reinforcement learning to financial domains-namely, the mismatch between proxy reward signals and true investment objectives. Our analysis suggests that current reward designs may incentivize overfitting to short-term volatility rather than optimizing risk-adjusted returns. This issue is compounded by the inherent expressiveness and optimization instability of quantum circuits under Noisy Intermediate-Scale Quantum (NISQ) constraints. We discuss the implications of this reward-performance gap and propose directions for future improvement, including reward shaping, model regularization, and validation-based early stopping. Our work offers a reproducible benchmark and critical insights into the practical challenges of deploying quantum reinforcement learning in real-world finance.
This Paper shows information about the High Speed Stock Trading, In todays era the normal computers are struggling to identify and find the complex market patterns and strategies. So in order to solve this issue we built a new system that is a combination of quantum computing and classical computing in which Reinforcement Learning (a way for computers to learn with trial and error) is used with Quantum Machine Learning to make smarter trading decisions and strategies. Specially, we have used a quantum model (called a Variational Quantum classifier) as a part of Deep Q Network agent to help the system learning better trading strategies. Our goal is to use the superior representational power of quantum feature spaces for financial decision making. The hybrid agent was trained in a high-fidelity simulation environment that includes realistic market frictions and a risk-adjusted reward function. Backtesting results on unseen data indicate that the hybrid agent consistently performs better than its traditional counterpart. It achieves a total return of 21.2%, which is higher than the 18.5% return from the classical model. Additionally, risk-adjusted performance has clearly improved. The hybrid agent’s Sortino Ratio is 32.6% higher and its Sharpe Ratio is 26.4% higher. Its maximum drawdown is also lower. These findings demonstrate that quantum models are able to detect minute market relationships that conventional approaches might miss. As a result, trading tactics become more reliable and successful. This research marks a substantial breakthrough in the application of quantum technologies to challenging computational finance problems.
This paper presents an Adaptive Quantum Annealing Algorithm (AQA), designed to enhance the solution efficiency of complex optimization problems. The core idea is to dynamically adjust parameters within the quantum annealing process, such as the annealing rate and path, using a machine learning-based feedback mechanism. Specifically, a reinforcement learning algorithm is employed to monitor the quantum annealing process in real-time, analyzing its state and adjusting the annealing parameters accordingly. This adaptive approach allows the algorithm to tailor its behavior to the specific characteristics of each problem, potentially overcoming limitations of traditional, static quantum annealing methods. The algorithm's performance is evaluated through simulation, demonstrating its ability to achieve improved results compared to standard quantum annealing strategies. The key contributions of this work lie in the integration of quantum annealing with adaptive optimization, enabling a more robust and efficient solution for diverse optimization challenges. The algorithm's design provides a framework for future research in hybrid quantum-classical optimization techniques.
This paper addresses the critical challenge of optimizing resource allocation within dynamic quantum networks (QNs). The inherent complexities of QNs, including fluctuating demands, evolving topologies, and the fragility of quantum states, necessitate adaptive resource management strategies. We propose a novel algorithm leveraging reinforcement learning (RL) to dynamically adjust resource allocation based on real-time network conditions. The algorithm learns an optimal policy by iteratively interacting with a simulated QN environment, maximizing the overall quantum channel throughput while minimizing the probability of quantum error. Specifically, the core mechanism involves formulating the resource allocation problem as a Markov Decision Process (MDP), where the state represents the network's current configuration, the action represents the allocation of quantum resources (e.g., qubits, entanglement), and the reward reflects the successful completion of quantum communication tasks. The RL agent utilizes a Q-learning algorithm to estimate the optimal Q-function, guiding the allocation process. We demonstrate, through simulation, that our algorithm significantly outperforms static allocation strategies in terms of throughput and reliability, even under highly dynamic network conditions. The key contributions of this work lie in the integration of RL with the unique characteristics of QNs and the development of a practical algorithm for adaptive resource management. Further research will explore the scalability of this approach and its application to larger, more complex QN topologies.
This paper proposes a novel approach to quantum annealing optimization by integrating quantum annealing's inherent properties with machine learning-driven adaptive parameter tuning. The core idea revolves around a machine learning agent – typically a reinforcement learning model – which dynamically monitors the quantum annealing process, specifically tracking parameters such as amplitude, time scale, and the transfer matrix. Based on the observed characteristics of the optimization problem, the agent autonomously adjusts these parameters in real-time, aiming to significantly improve both the efficiency and accuracy of solving complex optimization problems. This adaptive methodology contrasts with traditional quantum annealing, which relies on pre-defined parameters, offering increased flexibility and adaptability. We demonstrate a theoretical framework and a conceptual outline of this adaptive quantum annealing algorithm, highlighting its potential advantages and future research directions. The key mathematical formulations and notations used throughout the paper are presented in plain text.
