Qubit-Qutrit Correlations Under Modulated Interactions

Abstract

We address the dynamics and generation of quantum correlations by modulating the spin exchange and magnetic field by standing waves and Josephson junction in a mixed-spin model. The resultant dynamical maps reveal intricate dependencies between physical parameters, associated modulations, and quantum correlations. Most importantly, our employed model remains highly favorable for quantum correlations generation compared to general mixed-spin models.

Quantum correlations dynamics in qubit–qutrit system under magnetic and dephasing field

Muhammad Noman, Khushnood Shah, Lionel Tenemeza Kenfack +2 more

Abstract We investigate a hybrid qubit–qutrit system exposed to both a magnetic field and classical dephasing noise. The quantum system’s characteristics encompass diverse parameters, including spin-exchange interaction, dephasing, and the magnetic field. To incorporate thermal effects, we employ the system’s Hamiltonian to generate an initial qubit–qutrit density matrix within the framework of the Gibbs density operator. Furthermore, we model dephasing effects on the initial thermal state of the system using an Ornstein–Uhlenbeck process. We employ geometric discord, negativity, and entropic coherence functions to depict the quantum correlations across various parameter settings. Our results reveal that initially, quantum correlations attain non-maximal values, with their dynamics intricately reliant on the underlying system parameters. Specifically, when the system is primarily characterized by the magnetic field, we observe heightened levels of quantum correlations. Additionally, temperature-based characterization is found to have the most detrimental effect on the state. Geometric discord is observed to capture a higher degree of quantum correlations, albeit saturating rapidly at zero compared to entanglement and coherence. Finally, we investigated the effects of common environmental coupling and more pronounced non-Markovian dynamics in the system, revealing an enhanced preservation of quantum correlations. These modifications allow for prolonged coherence and entanglement, underscoring the potential of structured environmental interactions to mitigate decoherence effects and sustain quantum correlations over time.

Engineering Correlation and Entanglement Dynamics in Spin Systems

Toby S. Cubitt, J. I. Cirac

We show that correlation and entanglement dynamics of spin systems can be precisely controlled and engineered using only a small number of external physical control parameters. We first point out that the correlation dynamics of such systems can be understood in terms of spin-wave propagation, giving a simple physical explanation of the behavior seen in a number of recent works. We then extend this picture to more realistic translationally invariant systems prepared in product states. Since spin waves propagate according to a system's dispersion relation which typically depends on external physical parameters, this insight provides a convenient way to understand how dynamics can be controlled. We demonstrate these ideas in a simple example system, showing that correlations can be made to propagate in well-defined packets whose speed can be engineered in advance, controlled during the evolution, or even stopped altogether.

Measurement-induced disturbance and nonequilibrium thermal entanglement in a qutrit-qubit mixed spin XXZ model

Chen, LI ., Shao +3 more

We investigate the dynamics of nonequilibrium thermal quantum correlation of a qutrit-qubit mixed spin system coupled to two bosonic reservoirs at different temperatures using measurement-induced disturbance. The effects of initial states of the spins and temperatures of the reservoirs on measurement-induced disturbance and entanglement are discussed. The results demonstrate that measurement-induced disturbance is more robust than entanglement against the influence of both these factors and there is no sudden death phenomenon for measurement-induced disturbance. The dependences of steady-state measurement-induced disturbance and entanglement on coupling constant and anisotropy parameter are also studied. Steady-state entanglement vanishes for a ferromagnetic qutrit-qubit model, while steady- state measurement-induced disturbance exists for both the antiferromagnetic and ferromagnetic cases. Appropriately modulating the coupling constant and anisotropy parameter can strengthen quantum correlation.

Correlation power of Hamiltonian interactions

Luis Roa

We analyze the appearance of quantum correlations of two qubits prepared in a classical state. One qubit is locally coupled to a bath through a Hamiltonian interaction. We find that the generated correlations is related to the presence of virtual excitations of qubit-bath interaction.
