Abstract

We investigate the dynamics of nonequilibrium thermal quantum correlation of a qutrit-qubit mixed spin system coupled to two bosonic reservoirs at different temperatures using measurement-induced disturbance. The effects of initial states of the spins and temperatures of the reservoirs on measurement-induced disturbance and entanglement are discussed. The results demonstrate that measurement-induced disturbance is more robust than entanglement against the influence of both these factors and there is no sudden death phenomenon for measurement-induced disturbance. The dependences of steady-state measurement-induced disturbance and entanglement on coupling constant and anisotropy parameter are also studied. Steady-state entanglement vanishes for a ferromagnetic qutrit-qubit model, while steady-state measurement-induced disturbance exists for both the antiferromagnetic and ferromagnetic cases. Appropriately modulating the coupling constant and anisotropy parameter can strengthen quantum correlation.

Measurement-induced disturbance and thermal entanglement in a two-qutrit spin system with a uniaxial field

Xue-Min Bai, Jun‐Qi Li, J.-Q. Liang

We investigate in this paper measurement-induced disturbance (MID) and negativity in a two-spin-qutrit model by considering the influence of the external magnetic field, nonlinear coupling parameter, the uniaxial field and temperature. It is shown that all of these parameters play a significant role in negativity and MID. We make an explicit comparison between the negativity and MID and disclose some interesting results. By the way, we find that negativity is a better measure than MID to detect the sudden point in a finite temperature, which is obviously different from the previous findings.

Quantum correlation of correlated two qubits interacting with a thermal field

A-B A Mohamed

The quantum correlation (QC) of two qubits coupled to a thermal field is investigated based on measurement-induced disturbance. It is found that QC does not exist only in the entangled state. Due to the thermal parameter, QC is inhibited from vanishing and the phenomenon of the death and birth of entanglement occurs. Due to the field-mode structure, QC is equal to zero for separated qubits, whereas for a maximally entangled state, it has a periodic asymptotic behavior which does not vanish. QC and entanglement differ when the qubit state is initially in the separated or entangled state.

Dynamics of Measurement-Induced Disturbance for a Qubit-Qutrit System in Noninertial Frames

Hao Yuan, Lian-Fu Wei

We investigate the dynamics of measurement-induced disturbance (MID) for a qubit-qutrit system in noninertial frames under various multi-local decoherence channels (i.e., dephasing, phase-flip, bit-(trit-) flip, bit-(trit-) phase-flip, and depolarizing channels). We find that, for any acceleration, the MID can decay in a monotonic way to zero or to a nonzero steady value (i.e., residual MID exists). Consequently, no sudden death of the MID occurs, which is different from entanglement.

Correlation dynamics of two-parameter qubit—qutrit states under decoherence

Hao Yuan, Lian-Fu Wei

We investigate the dynamics of correlations for two-parameter qubit-qutrit states under various local decoherence channels including depahsing, phase-flip, bit- and trit-flip, bit- and trit-phase-flip, and depolarizing channels. We find that, under certain conditions, the classical correlations may not be affected by the noise or decay monotonically. The quantum correlations measured by measurement-induced disturbance (MID) show three types of dynamical behaviors: (i) monotonic decay to zero, (ii) monotonic decay to a nonzero steady value, (iii) increase from zero and then decrease to zero in a monotonic way. Consequently, we find that, differing from the dynamics of entanglement, the present classical and quantum correlations do not reveal sudden death behavior.

Dynamics of Entanglement and Measurement-Induced Disturbance for a Hybrid Qubit-Qutrit System Interacting with a Spin-Chain Environment: A Mean Field Approach

Mojtaba Jafarpour, Fazlollah Kazemi Hasanvand, Davood Afshar

Abstract We use the mean field method to study the dynamics of thermal entanglement and also the measurement-induced disturbance for a mixed qutrit-qubit system coupled to an environment, comprised of an Ising spin-chain with long range interactions, embedded in a transverse magnetic field. It is revealed that both quantities die down in long enough time and the fade out time is a decreasing function of temperature; however, the environmental magnetic field holds back the decoherence, and increases the fade out time; thus, providing a means to control and postpone the decoherence process. Moreover, it is observed that the discrepancy between the interaction strength of the qubit and the qutrit with the environment, substantially affects the decoherence behavior of the system.
