A Review on Quantum Computing for Business Applications

Sneha Nej, Subhasree Bhattacharjee, Sudakshina Mandal +3 more

Quantum Computing is gradually gaining importance as a transformative technology with the potential to revolutionize business applications by solving complicated problems beyond the capabilities of classical computers. Using basic principles such as superposition and entanglement, quantum systems can concurrently handle a wide range of combinations of possibilities. It offers several benefits in optimization, financial modeling, supply chain management, risk analysis, and machine learning. Despite the limitations of existing hardware in the NISQ era, rapid developments are enhancing scalability and reliability. This study analyses the practical implications, opportunities, and challenges of integrating quantum computing into business environments, spotlighting its capacity to drive innovation, competitive advantage, and long-term strategic growth throughout industries. By situating quantum computing within a transdisciplinary engineering and business ecosystem, this review demonstrates that quantum technologies are not merely enablers of computational speed but catalysts for systemic innovation.

Impact of quantum computing on organizations and their technological infrastructure

Diego León Betancur Pérez, Anny Carolina Betancur Taborda, Leydi Johanna Henao Tamayo

This article investigates the impact of quantum computing (QC) as an emerging technology with the potential to benefit businesses and their technological infrastructure. The main objective is to describe the challenges organizations face when adopting it, as well as the opportunities it offers in increasingly competitive and strategically complex markets driven by exponential growth. The study also identified that, while quantum computing promises to revolutionize areas such as resource optimization, productivity efficiency, and the simulation of future scenarios—enabling better-informed decision-making and risk mitigation—its implementation encounters significant obstacles: high costs, the need for specialized talent, and new security risks. To address these barriers, hybrid models combining cloud and local infrastructure, as well as microservices, have emerged as practical alternatives, enabling organizations to access this technology without requiring substantial initial investment. Ultimately, this research contributes to the academic discussion that quantum computing is not a replacement but rather a complement that can be integrated gradually and carefully. The path forward requires efforts in education and policy to ensure accessible and ethical development, preventing it from becoming a tool reserved for only a few.

Quantum computing and secure business models

Shrutika Mishra, Priyanshu Mishra

The evolution of quantum computing and its transformative impact on modern business models. Beginning with its theoretical foundations in the 1980s, quantum computing has progressed toward hardware development and, more recently, commercialization. With the advent of Quantum Computing as a Service (QCaaS), this cutting-edge technology is redefining industries such as finance, healthcare, supply chain management, and artificial intelligence. By analyzing real-world case studies and drawing insights from industry reports, the study highlights the measurable advantages of quantum computing in business, including enhanced optimization, cost savings, and accelerated problem-solving. The paper also addresses challenges, such as scalability and accessibility, while outlining future directions for research and adoption.
