Enhancing cyber security using quantum computing and Artificial Intelligence: A review

Abdullah Hill Hussain, Md Masud Hasan, Nayem Uddin Prince +3 more

The rapid development of cyber threats calls for solutions to bolster cyber security frameworks. This article reviews how Quantum Computing (QC) and AI are already beginning to address the criticisms cyber security systems typically take. Classical computing, which processes data sequentially using algorithms that are based on deterministic logic, confronts constraints from both scales and is efficient when dealing with massive datasets, resulting in slower threat detection times and a higher frequency of false positives. What's different is that quantum computing uses quantum mechanics to make data processing faster and more accurate. Using techniques like superposition and quantum-enhanced algorithms can deliver more precise threat analysis in a shorter period than can be achieved with classical methods. Quantum Machine Learning (QML) techniques such as quantum support vector machines (SVM) and variational quantum circuits handle big datasets much more efficiently than classical methods, so they enable better threat detection. Entrepreneurs also benefit from AI methods based on artificial intelligence via learning mechanisms that can automatically detect anomalies in a synergistic relationship with quantum developments to improve the accuracy of threat classification and response. With the combination of quantum algorithms and AI, cybersecurity is expected to see significantly enhanced speed, accuracy, and scalability, especially in large-scale deployment scenarios. However, problems still exist in the implementation of quantum technology - such as the need for compatible hardware and developing cryptographic methods that are in quantum times ahead. This paper points out how QC and AI could reinvent cyber security and provides an agenda that future research must take up in these areas.

Integrating Quantum Computing and NLP for Advanced Cyber Threat Detection

Ponnada Naga Ramya, R. Anitha, J. Rajalakshmi +1 more

The exponential growth of digital data and the increasing sophistication of cyber threats demand more advanced methods for threat analysis. This paper explores the integration of quantum computing and natural language processing (NLP) to enhance cyber threat analysis. Traditional computing methods struggle to keep up with the scale and complexity of modern cyber threats, but quantum computing offers a promising avenue for accelerated data processing, while NLP provides sophisticated tools for interpreting and understanding human language, crucial for analysing threat intelligence. Our proposed framework leverages quantum algorithms for rapid anomaly detection and advanced NLP techniques for precise threat identification and analysis. The methodology includes data collection from diverse sources, pre-processing for normalization, quantum-assisted data processing using Grover's search and Quantum Approximate Optimization Algorithm (QAOA), NLP analysis with transformers and BERT-based models, and integration of findings to build comprehensive threat profiles. Experimental results demonstrate significant improvements: quantum algorithms reduced data processing time by up to 50%, NLP models achieved 92% accuracy in threat identification, and the false positive rate was reduced by 30%. These findings indicate a promising direction for next-generation cybersecurity solutions, enabling more proactive and efficient threat mitigation. Future work will focus on refining quantum algorithms, enhancing NLP models, and expanding the framework for real-time threat detection capabilities.

Quantum Computing Applications to Enhance Cryptographic Techniques for Cybersecurity Decision Systems

Deepak Dasaratha Rao, Reghunath K, Senduru Srinivasulu +3 more

Quantum computing has introduced both new and intriguing possibilities and challenges to the cybersecurity industry. Quantum algorithms pose a threat to conventional encryption methods since they can optimize search queries (Grover's algorithm) or factor integers (Shor's algorithm), two formerly difficult operations. Quantum technologies also offer ways to secure data and communications, making them impenetrable to prying eyes. In this study, we look at quantum computing's possibilities in cybersecurity, first as a substitute for traditional cryptographic techniques and second as a way to speed up the development of solutions that are resistant to or even better than quantum-level attacks. Quantum Key Distribution (QKD) further strengthens encryption by automatically detecting eavesdropping and using keys generated by Quantum Random Number Generation (QRNG). Organizations construct future-proof infrastructures that improve threat detection, secure data transfer, and safeguard sensitive information by integrating these cryptographic technologies based on quantum theory into their cybersecurity decision systems. Intentionally adjusting cybersecurity frameworks to integrate quantum technologies while lowering new dangers is emphasized in the study.
