Multi-dimensional multiplexing optical secret sharing framework with cascaded liquid crystal holograms

Keyao Li, Yiming Wang, Dapu Pi +6 more

Secret sharing is a promising technology for information encryption by splitting the secret information into different shares. However, the traditional scheme suffers from information leakage in decryption process since the amount of available information channels is limited. Herein, we propose and demonstrate an optical secret sharing framework based on the multi-dimensional multiplexing liquid crystal (LC) holograms. The LC holograms are used as spatially separated shares to carry secret images. The polarization of the incident light and the distance between different shares are served as secret keys, which can significantly improve the information security and capacity. Besides, the decryption condition is also restricted by the applied external voltage due to the variant diffraction efficiency, which further increases the information security. In implementation, an artificial neural network (ANN) model is developed to carefully design the phase distribution of each LC hologram. With the advantage of high security, high capacity and simple configuration, our optical secret sharing framework has great potentials in optical encryption and dynamic holographic display.

Channel shared information encoding with wavelength multiplexed metasurface

Zhenfei Li, Weiren Zhu

Multi-channel information encryption technology has been implemented by metasurfaces owing to their superior capability in manipulating phase, amplitude, wavelength and polarization of incident light. However, any non-full-channel decoding may lead to the leakage of secret information. To further improve the security of information, in this paper, we propose a channel shared information encoding scheme by integrating visual secret sharing scheme with metasurface-based phase-encoding technique. The secret information can be reconstructed only by decoding all the wavelength channels of the metasurface, whiles meaningless images would be extracted in other channel decoding processes, without revealing any original information. The simulated results show the feasibility and adjustability of our encryption system, which can be potentially applied in future optical information security systems.

Multi-users Quantum Key Distribution Via Wavelength Routers in an Optical Network

Preecha P. Yupapin, Somsak Mitatha

We propose a new system of a continuous variable quantum key distribution via a wavelength router in the optical networks. A large bandwidth signal is generated by a soliton pulse propagating within the micro ring resonator, which is allowed to form the continuous wavelength with large tunable channel capacity. Two forms of soliton pulses are generated and localized, i.e. temporal and spatial solitons. The required information can be transmitted via the spatial soliton while the continuous variable quantum key distribution is formed by using the temporal one. This is formed by using an optical add/drop multiplexer incorporated in the optical network, where the localized soliton pulses are available for add/drop signals to/from the optical network. The high security and capacity information can be performed. Keywords: Wavelength router, quantum router, quantum network, high capacity network

A perfect secure optical-network with an anti-correlated noise

Il-Pyeong Hwang, Chang-Hee Lee

We propose a perfect secrecy optical communication with an anti-correlated noise between wavelength-division-multiplexed (WDM) channels. The anti-correlated noise carries confidential information. By sending the different WDM channels to different communication paths in optical communication networks (wired and/or wireless), the achievable signal-to-noise ratio for eavesdroppers can be restricted to much less than that of a target receiver. We demonstrate a perfect secrecy optical network with a three-channel anti-correlated noise generated by using a Fabry–Perot laser diode and a broadband light source. The secure data-rate of 3.95-Gb/s was achieved against an eavesdropper on a single path. We also investigate a secrecy capacity as a function of the number of eavesdropped paths. Finally, security enhancement methods for the proposed system are introduced.

We demonstrate an all-optical solution for secret sharing based on metasurface holography. Metasurfaces are used as separable shares that reconstruct a secret after combination. The inherent alignment sensitivity can be used to build optical rulers.
