Abstract

Quantum networks, on the other hand, might help make hospital AI systems safer. Principles from the field of quantum physics are used by quantum networks to create communication channels that can't be changed or listened to. In this research, how healthcare workers are using quantum networks to make AI systems safer is looked into. The research talks about the main ideas behind quantum cryptography, such as quantum entanglement, quantum teleportation, and QKD methods. Integration issues and practical problems that come up when adding quantum networks to healthcare systems that are already in place are also talked about. When healthcare groups use quantum networks, they can make their defences stronger against cyber threats and data breaches. This will make people believe AI-powered healthcare solutions even more. In a world where healthcare is becoming more and more digital, our research adds to the ongoing conversation about cyber security in healthcare by suggesting quantum networks as a useful and effective way to keep private and sensitive patient data safe.

Utilizing Quantum Networks to Ensure the Security of AI Systems in Healthcare

T. R. Ramesh, Ambrish Kumar Sharma, Thotakura Balaji +1 more

In the field of healthcare, the development of artificial intelligence (AI) gives a tremendous opportunity for improving patient care and medical diagnostics. However, the safety of these artificial intelligence systems continues to be a major worry. There is a possibility that traditional encryption methods will not be able to withstand advanced cyber threats. This research proposes to improve the safety of artificial intelligence systems in the healthcare industry by utilizing the power of Quantum networks. Because quantum networks are based on the principles of quantum mechanics, which are comparable to those of traps and superpositions, they provide security in previously unforeseen conditions. It is possible to have sensitive case data transferred securely by implementing Quantum communication protocols into healthcare AI systems. This will protect the data from being intercepted and from being accessed by unwanted parties. When it comes to protecting AI operations in the healthcare industry, ensure patient sequestration, and the integrity of medical data.

Importance of Quantum Security in AI Systems

Rasheena Imtiyaz, Sanam Preet Kour, Diya Choudhary

This chapter looks at how combining quantum cryptography and artificial intelligence (AI) can help solve new cyber security problems caused by powerful quantum computers. It first explains the basics of quantum cryptography, focusing on Quantum Key Distribution (QKD), which uses the rules of quantum physics to create secure communication channels. The chapter also shows how AI can make these systems even stronger by handling large amounts of data, finding patterns, and helping security systems adapt to new threats. The research is based on two methods: direct data from organizations like NIST and a detailed review of existing studies. It also explains how quantum computing, using ideas like superposition and entanglement, can lead to new ways to protect data and detect cyber threats quickly. In the end, the chapter shows that using AI and quantum technologies together is a smart and necessary step to keep our digital world safe.

Quantum-Inspired Optimization in AI for Healthcare Networks

Aayushi Arya, Mercy Sharon Devadas, T. V. Hyma Lakshmi +3 more

Quantum mechanics-inspired optimisation techniques show hope for getting past these problems because they quickly look through the solution space by using ideas from quantum computers. The main focus of this research is on improving healthcare networks that are run by AI, with help from quantum physics. When it comes to healthcare network optimisation, the first things that are talked about are allocating resources, planning routes for patients and medical staff and tools, and making plans for treatment. This essay looks at the pros and cons of these methods and how they might be used to solve different planning problems in healthcare networks. In the end of this research, the interesting role of quantum mechanics-based planning in the creation of AI applications for healthcare networks is explained. This could lead to future healthcare systems that are more sensitive, flexible, and effective.

Quantum cryptography and cybersecurity in healthcare data

Deepika Bhatia, Tanya Singh, Harsh Bhasin

Using quantum cryptography can significantly support cybersecurity in healthcare, paving the way for safer digital environments. As the sector evolves, ongoing research and innovation in quantum technologies will be essential for ensuring the confidentiality and integrity of patient information, ultimately enhancing the quality of care delivered in an increasingly interconnected world. The chapter explores the evolution of quantum cryptography to strengthen cybersecurity in the healthcare sector. As reliance on digital technology increases, protecting sensitive patient information becomes more important. Quantum cryptography offers a new way to create secure communication using the principles of quantum mechanics. These briefs highlight the critical need for security measures that can prevent devastating cyber threats. The second section describes the role of quantum algorithms, particularly quantum key distribution (QKD) and quantum-resistant algorithms. QKD allows encryption keys to be exchanged securely, ensuring that any eavesdropping attempts are detected, thus preserving the integrity of communications. Quantum-resistant algorithms have also been designed to prevent quantum computer attacks that could compromise cryptographic systems. By integrating these technologies, healthcare organizations can reduce the negative impacts associated with traditional processes and protect patient information from unauthorized access to interventions and research reports. As these technologies continue to mature, their integration with healthcare systems provides an opportunity to build trust and cost-effectiveness in these digital health solutions. This integration not only increases data security but also supports the development of AI applications that can analyze large amounts of medical data. The digital environment is more secure. As the industry evolves, continued research and innovation in quantum technology will be necessary to ensure the confidentiality and integrity of patient data and ultimately improve the quality of care in an ever-changing world.

Quantum artificial intelligence for cyber threat mitigation

Deepika Bhatia, Pranav Bhardwaj, Jayati Ahuja

Applying quantum artificial intelligence (QAI) to protect healthcare systems includes several technologies that improve data security and protect against threats. The chapter emphasizes the need for advanced cybersecurity techniques in healthcare, integrating QAI to protect sensitive data. Traditional defense frameworks are insufficient, and QAI, a combination of quantum computing and artificial intelligence (AI), is needed to address the complexities of cyber threats and establish enduring cybersecurity frameworks. The chapter describes the cybersecurity problems of the healthcare sector. Digital transformation has revolutionized the healthcare sector by introducing electronic health records, connected medical devices, and telemedicine which now provide a bigger target for cyber adversaries. The delicacy of health data is the reason why it is the major target of ransomware, data breaches, and other hacking techniques. As the threats grow more complicated, traditional security solutions may become less effective. This chapter presents QAI as a novel technique for taking care of these issues using the incredible computational power of quantum computing combined with the pattern recognition and decision-making skills of AI. Furthermore, the chapter reviews the field of quantum resistance, which is defined as the capability of algorithms to deliver secure encryption even in the face of quantum computers; under this context, the chapter presents lattice-based and hash-based cryptography as critical to protecting healthcare data from future quantum cyberattacks. These encryption techniques protect against threats from quantum computing and most of today’s common encryption methods such as the Rivest-Shamir-Adleman (RSA) and Elliptic Curve Cryptography (ECC) are vulnerable to breakage by quantum machines.

Preparing AI-Powered Healthcare Security Systems to be Resilient Against Quantum Computing Threats

Gaurang Deshpande

Healthcare powered by artificial intelligence is revolutionising the way patients are treated: AI helps diagnose intelligently and lets one manage data intelligently. Nevertheless, this is under threat with the emergence of quantum computing, which threatens to crack all established cryptographic protection in these systems. Currently, this study aims to explore how ready AI-powered healthcare security systems are to counter attacks based on quantum computing. It discusses present vulnerabilities, and considerations of post-quantum cryptographic protections and provides quantum resilience strategic measures. Based on secondary data analysis, literature review, and case studies, the study highlights the major gaps and offers a road map to make safe AI applications in healthcare. Research results underline the importance of implementing quantum-resistant technologies in the short term to maintain long-term data integrity and protection against the system.
