Abstract

Abstract We use the quantum-dots (QD) coupled with single-sided microcavities system to construct the error-rejecting controlled not (CNOT) gate of electronic spins system in QD; We have designed an error-rejecting entanglement purification protocol (EPP) of electronic spins system in QD by using the error-rejecting CNOT gate and unitary operation. It can extract the high entanglement from the mixed entanglement states of the electronic spins with low entangled states. This EPP can eliminate the operation errors caused by the nonideal interaction between photons and QD coupled with optical microcavities system, and improve the fidelity of the EPP through iteration. Our scheme is more practical in future long-distance quantum communications, especially providing significant benefits for solving decoherence problems in quantum networks and quantum repeaters.

Self-error-rejecting multipartite entanglement purification for electron systems assisted by quantum-dot spins in optical microcavities

Yong-Ting Liu, Yi-Ming Wu, Fang‐Fang Du

We present a self-error-rejecting multipartite entanglement purification protocol (MEPP) for N-electron-spin entangled states, resorting to the single-side cavity-spin-coupling system. Our MEPP has a high efficiency containing two steps. One is to obtain high-fidelity N-electron-spin entangled systems with error-heralded parity-check devices (PCDs) in the same parity-mode outcome of three electron-spin pairs, as well as M-electron-spin entangled subsystems (2 ≤ M < N) in the different parity-mode outcomes of those. The other is to regain the N-electron-spin entangled systems from M-electron-spin entangled states utilizing entanglement link. Moreover, the quantum circuits of PCDs make our MEPP works faithfully, due to the practical photon-scattering deviations from the finite side leakage of the microcavity, and the limited coupling between a quantum dot and a cavity mode, converted into a failed detection in a heralded way.

General Quantum Entanglement Purification Protocol using a Controlled‐Phase‐Flip Gate

Lu‐Cong Lu, Bao‐Cang Ren, Xin Wang +2 more

Abstract Entanglement purification is an important method to guarantee the fidelity of long‐distance quantum communication. Here, a general entanglement purification protocol (EPP) for mixed state with bit‐flip error and phase‐flip error is proposed, resorting to unilateral operations and a controlled‐phase‐flip (CPF) gate. The CPF gate is working with a high fidelity under balance condition of quantum dot embedded in a double‐sided optical cavity. This general EPP scheme can purify the mixed state with both bit‐flip error and phase‐flip error to a high fidelity entangled state relatively fast in some regimes, owing to the unilateral operations and high‐fidelity CPF gate, which can largely decrease the resource consumption. This general EPP provides a convenient way for increasing the entanglement of different quantum systems, which has great potential for guaranteeing the fidelity of long‐distance quantum communication in the future.

Deterministic CNOT gate and complete Bell-state analyzer on quantum-dot-confined electron spins based on faithful quantum nondemolition parity detection

Ling Fan, Cong Cao

The quantum controlled-NOT (CNOT) gate is a prototypical two-qubit quantum logic gate that provides the basic controlled logic for a set of gates for universal quantum computation. It has been shown that parity checking devices can be used to construct CNOT gates, and the fidelity of a CNOT operation is highly constrained by the fidelity of parity detection with this strategy. In this paper, a scheme to implement a CNOT operation on two stationary electron spins confined in quantum dots (QDs) inside double-sided optical microcavities is presented, based on the faithful parity detection achieved by a heralded and robust two-electron-spin quantum nondemolition (QND) parity detector. The QND parity detector is considerably different from previous implementations and experimentally more realizable, and works in the heralded and repeat-until-success fashion with robust fidelity, which enables our CNOT gate to be implemented deterministically with unity fidelity. Moreover, based on the features of the QND parity detector, a complete Bell-state analysis on two QD-confined electron spins can be realized without wrong judgment or any destruction of the analyzed entangled state. The efficiency of parity detection is also discussed by considering currently achievable system parameters.

Scheme for implementing nonlocal high-fidelity quantum controlled-not gates on quantum-dot-confined electron spins using optical microcavities and photonic hyperentanglement

Yu‐Hong Han, Cong Cao, Ling Fan +1 more

Quantum information networks can transmit quantum states and perform quantum operations between different quantum network nodes, which are essential for various applications of quantum information technology in the future. In this paper, a potentially practical scheme for implementing nonlocal quantum controlled-not (CNOT) gate operations on quantum-dot-confined electron spins between two quantum network nodes is presented. The scheme can realize parallel teleportation of two nonlocal quantum CNOT gates simultaneously by employing hyperentangled photon pairs to establish quantum channel, which can effectively improve the channel capacity and operational speed. The core of the scheme are two kinds of photon-spin hybrid quantum CNOT gate working in a failure-heralded and fidelity-robust fashion. With the heralded mechanism, the nonlocal CNOT gates can be implementated with unity fidelities in principle, even if the particularly ideal conditions commonly used in other schemes are not satisfied strictly. Our analysis and calculations indicate that the scheme can be demonstrated efficiently (with efficiency exceeding 99%) with current or near-future technologies. Moreover, the utilized photon-spin hybrid quantum gates can be regarded as universal modules for many other quantum information processing (QIP) tasks. Therefore, the scheme is potential for constructing elementary quantum networks, and realizing nolocal QIP with high channel capacities, high fidelities, and high efficiencies.

Imperfect-interaction-free entanglement purification on stationary systems for solid quantum repeaters

Guan-Yu Wang, Qing Ai, Fu‐Guo Deng +1 more

Solid quantum repeater is a core part in a large-scale quantum network. Entanglement purification, the key technique in a quantum repeater, is used to distill high-quality nonlocal entanglement from an ensemble in a mixed entangled state and to depress the vicious influence on quantum information carriers caused by noise. Here, we present an imperfect-interaction-free entanglement purification on nonlocal electron spins in quantum dots for solid quantum repeaters, using faithful parity check on electron spins. The faithful parity check can make correct judgement on the parity mode without destructing the nonlocal solid entanglement even with the imperfect interaction between a QD embedded inside a microcavity and a circularly polarized photon in the nearly realistic condition. Therefore, the imperfect-interaction-free entanglement purification can prevent the maximally entangled states from being changed into partially entangled ones and guarantee the fidelity of the nonlocal mixed state to a desired one after purification. As this scheme is feasible in the nearly realistic condition with imperfect interaction, the requirements for experimental implementation will be relaxed. These distinctive features make this imperfect-interaction-free entanglement purification have more practical applications in solid quantum repeaters for a large-scale quantum network.

Error-detected N-photon cluster state generation based on the controlled-phase gate using a quantum dot in an optical microcavity

Lei-Xia Liang, Yanyan Zheng, Yuan‐Xia Zhang +1 more

We propose a scheme for error-detected generation of an N -photon cluster state with a quantum dot (QD) embedded in a single-sided optical microcavity (QD-cavity system). The basic structure of this scheme is an error-detected controlled-phase (C-phase) gate on the hybrid electron-photon system. In this scheme, the fidelity of N -photon cluster state generation can be reached unity even if low- Q cavity and cavity leakage are considered. By using error detecting, the generation of an N -photon cluster state can be performed by repeating until success, which also leads to a high success probability, compared with other schemes assisted by the QD-cavity system. The error-detected generation of an N -photon cluster state in the highly controllable way may benefit on the quantum network in the future.
