Towards atom interferometry beyond the standard quantum limit with strontium atoms

Leonardo Salvi

\nIn this thesis, a method that allows for the generation of non-classical states of cold strontium atoms is described. These states are useful for the implementation of sensitive atom interferometers that measure gravity. The method is based on a cavity-aided measurement that prepares squeezed states of superpositions of momentum states.
