QUANTUM DISCORD AND ENTANGLEMENT FOR TWO ATOMS IN A KERR MEDIUM AND STARK SHIFT

Abstract

. This study analyzes the effect of the Kerr medium and Stark shift on the entanglement between two two-level atoms and a single-mode cavity in a quantum model. The findings demonstrate that the entanglement between the atoms varies periodically over time, with the periods affected by the Kerr medium and Stark shift. The Kerr medium and Stark shift hinder atom disentanglement, resulting in a prolonged stationary entangled state. The Stark shift can also enhance atom-atom entanglement for partially entangled states. These findings reveal that the Kerr medium and Stark shift can effectively control the entanglement between two atoms. Moreover, weak measurement strength impacts quantum particles' entanglement, which decreases over time. Quantum discord is more affected by weak measurement strengths than entanglement, decreasing until a critical point and increasing with a further rise in weak measurement strengths.

Control of entanglement between two atoms by the Stark shift

Yao-Hua Hu, Mao-Fa Fang

Considering a quantum model consisting of two effective two-level atoms and a single-mode cavity, this paper investigates the entanglement dynamics between the two atoms, and studies the effect of the Stark shift on the entanglement. The results show that, on the one hand the atom–atom entanglement evolves periodically with time and the periods are affected by the Stark shift; on the other hand, the two atoms are not disentangled at any time when the Stark shift is considered, and for large values of the Stark shift parameter, the two atoms can remain in a stationary entangled state. In addition, for the initially partially entangled atomic state, the atom–atom entanglement can be greatly enhanced due to the presence of Stark shift. These properties show that the Stark shift can be used to control entanglement between two atoms.

Effect of the Stark shift on entanglement in a double two-photon JC model

Yao-Hua Hu, Mao-Fa Fang, Cai Jian-Wu +2 more

Considering a double two-photon JC model, we investigate the entanglement between the two two-level atoms and that between the two cavity fields, and study the effect of the Stark shift on entanglement. The results show that, on the one hand the atom–atom and cavity–cavity concurrences evolve periodically with time and the periods are affected by the Stark shift; on the other hand, the two atoms are not disentangled at any time when the Stark shift is considered, and for large values of the Stark shift parameter, the two atoms can remain in a stationary entangled state. In addition, we find that the so-called entanglement sudden death can occur under appropriate conditions on the dynamic Stark shift for a certain initial state of the system.

Influence of Stark Shift on Entanglement of Two Qubits in the Two-Photon Tavis-Cummings Model

Michail S. Mastyugin, Eugene K. Bashkirov

Considering two-atom degenerate two-photon Tavis-Cummings model, we investigate the entanglement between two atoms prepared initially in the coherent disentangled states and cavity field prepared in few-photon Fock state, and study the effect of the Stark shift on entanglement. The results show that the atom–atom negativity evolve periodically with time and the periods are affected by the Stark shift and initial coherent atomic state and that the atom–atom entanglement can be greatly enhanced due to the presence of Stark shift. We also have shown that entanglement sudden death effect vanishes for some parameters of the considered system due to the presence of Stark shift. In addition, the entanglement sudden death effect vanishes due to the presence of Stark shift. We have derived that the dynamic Stark shift can be used to control entanglement between two initially disentangled atoms.

Entanglement analysis of a two-atom nonlinear Jaynes–Cummings model with nondegenerate two-photon transition, Kerr nonlinearity, and two-mode Stark shift

Hamid Reza Baghshahi, Mohammad Kazem Tavassoly, Mohammad Javad Faghihi

An entangled state, as an essential tool in quantum information processing, may be generated through the interaction between light and matter in cavity quantum electrodynamics. In this paper, we study the interaction between two two-level atoms and a two-mode field in an optical cavity enclosed by a medium with Kerr nonlinearity in the presence of a detuning parameter and Stark effect. It is assumed that the atom–field coupling and third-order susceptibility of the Kerr medium depend on the intensity of the light. In order to investigate the dynamics of the introduced system, we obtain the exact analytical form of the state vector of the considered atom–field system under initial conditions which may be prepared for the atoms (in a coherent superposition of their ground and upper states) and the fields (in a standard coherent state). Then, in order to evaluate the degree of entanglement between the subsystems, we investigate the dynamics of the entanglement by employing the entanglement of formation. Finally, we analyze in detail the influences of the Stark shift, the deformed Kerr medium, the intensity-dependent coupling, and also the detuning parameter on the behavior of this measure for different subsystems. The numerical results show that the amount of entanglement between the different subsystems can be controlled by choosing the evolved parameters appropriately.

Effect of the Stark shift on entanglement in a double Jaynes-Cummings model in thermal environment

Yao-Hua Hu

Considering a double two-photon Jaynes-Cummings (J-C) model, we study the effects of Stark shift and mean photon number on entanglement between two two-level atoms when the atoms are initially in a maximally entangled state and the fields are in the single-mode thermal fields. The results show that the two atoms evolve periodically into a disentangled separable state when Stark shift is not considered. However, in the presence of Stark shift, the two two-level atoms are no longer disentangled and long-lived entanglement can be obtained. For a larger value of the Stark shift parameter and a smaller mean photon number, the two atoms can remain in a stationary entangled state. These properties show that the Stark shift can be used to control entanglement in the double two-photon J-C model under the influence of thermal environment.

Entanglement Dynamics of Three and Four Level Atomic System under Stark Effect and Kerr-Like Medium

Syed Jamal Anwar, Muhammad Asif Ramzan, M. Usman +1 more

We investigated numerically the dynamics of quantum Fisher information (QFI) and entanglement for three- and four-level atomic systems interacting with a coherent field under the effect of Stark shift and Kerr medium. It was observed that the Stark shift and Kerr-like medium play a prominent role during the time evolution of the quantum systems. The non-linear Kerr medium has a stronger effect on the dynamics of QFI as compared to the quantum entanglement (QE). QFI is heavily suppressed by increasing the value of Kerr parameter. This behavior was found comparable in the cases of three- and four-level atomic systems coupled with a non-linear Kerr medium. However, QFI and quantum entanglement (QE) maintain their periodic nature under atomic motion. On the other hand, the local maximum value of QFI and von Neumann entropy (VNE) decrease gradually under the Stark effect. Moreover, no prominent difference in the behavior of QFI and QE was observed for three- and four-level atoms while increasing the value of Stark parameter. However, three- and four-level atomic systems were found equally prone to the non-linear Kerr medium and Stark effect. Furthermore, three- and four-level atomic systems were found fully prone to the Kerr-like medium and Stark effect.
