Control of entanglement between two atoms by the Stark shift

Abstract

Considering a quantum model consisting of two effective two-level atoms and a single-mode cavity, this paper investigates the entanglement dynamics between the two atoms, and studies the effect of the Stark shift on the entanglement. The results show that, on the one hand the atom–atom entanglement evolves periodically with time and the periods are affected by the Stark shift; on the other hand, the two atoms are not disentangled at any time when the Stark shift is considered, and for large values of the Stark shift parameter, the two atoms can remain in a stationary entangled state. In addition, for the initially partially entangled atomic state, the atom–atom entanglement can be greatly enhanced due to the presence of Stark shift. These properties show that the Stark shift can be used to control entanglement between two atoms.

Effect of the Stark shift on entanglement in a double two-photon JC model

Considering a double two-photon JC model, we investigate the entanglement between the two two-level atoms and that between the two cavity fields, and study the effect of the Stark shift on entanglement. The results show that, on the one hand the atom–atom and cavity–cavity concurrences evolve periodically with time and the periods are affected by the Stark shift; on the other hand, the two atoms are not disentangled at any time when the Stark shift is considered, and for large values of the Stark shift parameter, the two atoms can remain in a stationary entangled state. In addition, we find that the so-called entanglement sudden death can occur under appropriate conditions on the dynamic Stark shift for a certain initial state of the system.

Influence of Stark Shift on Entanglement of Two Qubits in the Two-Photon Tavis-Cummings Model

Michail S. Mastyugin, Eugene K. Bashkirov

Considering two-atom degenerate two-photon Tavis-Cummings model, we investigate the entanglement between two atoms prepared initially in the coherent disentangled states and cavity field prepared in few-photon Fock state, and study the effect of the Stark shift on entanglement. The results show that the atom–atom negativity evolve periodically with time and the periods are affected by the Stark shift and initial coherent atomic state and that the atom–atom entanglement can be greatly enhanced due to the presence of Stark shift. We also have shown that entanglement sudden death effect vanishes for some parameters of the considered system due to the presence of Stark shift. In addition, the entanglement sudden death effect vanishes due to the presence of Stark shift. We have derived that the dynamic Stark shift can be used to control entanglement between two initially disentangled atoms.

Entanglement between two atoms taking into account a Stark shift

Maria O. Guslyannikova, Eugene K. Bashkirov

We considered a quantum model consisting of two effective two-level atoms interacting with a single-mode thermal cavity field through two-photon transitions. We explored the entanglement dynamics between two atoms, and studied the effect of the Stark shift on the entanglement. The results showed that for a separable initial atomic state the Stark shift enhances the amount of atom-atom entanglement induced by the thermal field. For entangled atomic state the Stark shift reduces the the atom-atom entanglement oscillations.

Control of atomic entanglement by dynamic Stark effect

Biplab Ghosh, A. S. Majumdar, N. Nayak

We study the entanglement properties of two three-level Rydberg atoms passing through a single-mode cavity. The interaction of an atom with the cavity field allows the atom to make a transition from the upper most (lower most) to the lower most (upper most) level by emission (absoprtion) of two photons via the middle level. We employ an effective Hamiltonian that describes the system with a Stark shifted two-photon atomic transition. We compute the entanglement of formation of the joint two-atom state as a function of Rabi angle $gt$. It is shown that the Stark shift can be used to enhance the magnitude of atomic entanglement over that obtained in the resonant condition for certain parameter values. We find that though the two-atom entanglement generally diminishes with the increase of the two-photon detuning and the Stark shift, it is possible to sustain the entanglement over a range of interaction times by making the detuning and the Stark shift compensate each other. Similar characteristics are obtained for a thermal state cavity field too.

Abstract We considered a quantum model consisting of two effective two-level atoms not resonantly interacting with a single-mode thermal cavity eld through two-photon transitions. We explored the entanglement dynamics between two atoms, and studied the effect of the Stark shift and detuning on the entanglement. The results showed that for a separable initial atomic state the Stark shift and detuning enhance the amount of atom-atom entanglement induced by the thermal eld. For entangled atomic state these reduce the atom-atom entanglement oscillations.
