Abstract

The main focus of this paper is to find out the emerging and future scope of cryptography. Using the principles of quantum physics, quantum cryptography is a revolutionary technique that enables two parties to protect network communications. The theory of quantum cryptography and how this technology improves network security are the main topics of this research study. This article encapsulates the state of quantum encryption at present, practical application implementations of this expertise, and ultimately the future course that quantum cryptography will take. The ease of authentication via fingerprint, eye, voice, palm, and other biometrics is expressly stated by biometric cryptography. Biometric verification provides more security than would be comfortably provided by conventional cryptography-based confirmation. A rapidly developing field of technology is DNA cryptography, which uses DNA computing principles.

Quantum cryptography: An emerging technology in network security

Mehrdad S. Sharbaf

The uses of computer communications networks technologies have increased the incidents of computer abuse. Because of these incidents, most organizations facing pressure to protect their assets. Most digital networks generally rely on modern cryptosystems to secure the confidentiality and integrity of traffic carried across the network. The current modern cryptosystems based on mathematical model introduce potential security holes related to technological progress of computing power, the key refresh rate and key expansion ratio, the most crucial parameters in the security of any cryptographic techniques. For that reason efforts have been made to establish new foundation for cryptography science in the computer communications networks. One of these efforts has led to the development of quantum cryptography technology, whose security relies on the laws of quantum mechanics [1,2,3,20, 24]. This research paper concentrates on quantum cryptography, and how this technology contributes to the network security. The scope of this research paper is to cover the weaknesses, and the security pitfalls in modern cryptography, fundamental concepts of quantum cryptography, the real - world application implementation of this technology, finally the future direction in which the quantum cryptography is headed forwards.

Quantum Cryptography: Advancements and Applications in Securing Networking Systems

Mohan Garg, Kambam Vedantan, I. Rexiline Sheeba +3 more

Quantum cryptography is an advanced technology that applies the principles of quantum mechanics to provide secure communication networks. Quantum crypto differs from other forms of cryptographic security that rely on mathematical theory because this allows quantum mechanics, the uncertainty principle and entanglement to enhance secure communication. Quantum cryptography has made significant progress recently and can effectively be used for networking system protection. Such advancement is the quantum key distribution protocol, where two parties generate the secret key to secure communication completely unshakable by any third party. One more advancement is the use of quantum teleportation, which allows transferring information between distant quantum systems without physically moving there. These developments have provided abundant opportunities for applications of quantum cryptography to secure networking systems. It helps maintain the secure transmission of sensitive information online or protects financial transactions and government and military communications. Quantum cryptography can also be used for secure authentication and access control, useful in cross-industry applications. Quantum cryptography is the best technology for implementing secure networking systems; thanks to its crypt-like harmony, it can be integrated into the most insecure networks with very rare error rates.

Abstract: Quantum-cryptography represents a revolutionary advancement in the field of secure correspondence, leveraging the principles of quantum-mechanics to ensure unprecedented levels of security. This review paper provides a comprehensive exploration of both the foundational principles and advanced techniques underpinning quantum cryptographic systems. We begin by examining the theoretical foundations, including quantum key distribution (QKD) protocols such as BB84 and E91, and the critical role of entanglement and superposition in these processes. The paper then delves into the latest advancements and techniques in the field, including device-independent QKD, quantum cryptographic networks, and post-quantum cryptographic methods designed to be resilient against quantum computer attacks. Additionally, we discuss practical implementation challenges and the current state of experimental quantum cryptography. By synthesizing recent research findings and technological developments, this review aims to provide a thorough comprehension of the current environment and future directions of quantum cryptography, highlighting its potential to revolutionize secure communications in the quantum era.

A study on the development of quantum cryptography and some challenging issues

Malinka Ivanova, Emanuil Ilchov

Quantum cryptography is a revolutionary field that applies the principles of quantum mechanics to provide secure communication channels. One of the most popular techniques in quantum cryptography is Quantum Key Distribution, which uses quantum states to deliver secure keys. The main advantage of quantum cryptography is that it offers protection against eavesdropping and tampering, which is not possible with classical encryption methods. This is because copying data in a quantum state is virtually impossible, and any attempt to intercept or manipulate the data will result in its complete alteration. As a result, any third-party interference can be detected quickly. Traditional cryptographic algorithms used in modern cryptography are vulnerable to attacks due to the evolution of quantum computers and mathematical advances in the decomposition of large integers. Therefore, the solution to address this vulnerability is to apply the principles of quantum physics to cryptography. The aim of the paper is to survey the current scientific achievements in the field of quantum cryptography and to present some challenging issues.

A Comprehensive Study on Advancements and Challenges in Quantum Cryptography

Sahil Sapeiya, Suhana Taneja, Enjula Uchoi +1 more

Quantum cryptography is an emerging field that ensures secure communication by leveraging principles of quantum mechanics. Unlike classical cryptography methods that rely on mathematical complexity, quantum cryptographic protocols, Quantum Key Distribution (QKD) protocols derive their security from the fundamental laws of physics. Among these, the BB84 protocol is widely recognized for enabling secure key exchange between communicating parties, with any eavesdropping attempts being inherently detectable. The invention of quantum computing poses a significant threat to classical encryption algorithms, and thereby necessitating both post-quantum cryptography and quantum-based approaches. This paper presents a comprehensive overview of quantum cryptography, emphasizing its theoretical principles foundations of quantum cryptography, emphasizing its advantages over traditional encryption methods, implementation challenges, and real-world application. It also outlines the limitations of quantum technology, e.g., hardware limitations and interference by noise, which restrict large-scale application. A detailed comparison between classical, quantum, and hybrid cryptographic approaches is presented to highlight the key advancement, including improved eavesdropping detection, enhanced key generation rates, and security through quantum entanglement. As quantum networks evolve rapidly, quantum cryptography is poised to become a cornerstone of nextgeneration ultra-secure communication systems.
