DIY Innovations in Quantum Physics: Proving Light Dualism with Photoelectric Effect and Double Slit Experiments

This research aims to prove the dualism of the nature of light with the photoelectric effect experiment and the double slit experiment using simple tools. The experimental analysis method was used for this research. The photoelectric effect experiment that has been carried out successfully proves that light behaves as a particle, this is evidenced by f> f0, light emitted as small particles called photons. The double slit experiment conducted with one of the wave properties, namely interference, also proved that light behaves as a wave, resulting in the formation of dark and bright patterns. Both experiments can be conducted using simple tools, despite the limited facilities of the laboratory, so this experiment can still be done by utilizing existing tools and materials as an alternative.

Study on the diffraction-like and interference-like mechanisms of particle flow

Jiqing Zeng, Tianhe Zeng

Abstract The Young's double slit experiment and the electron double slit experiment are generally considered to prove the wave nature of light and electrons. The most obvious sign of the double-slit experiment is that there are bright and dark stripes on the screen. However, people have not carefully studied the causes of the light and dark stripes. Here, we demonstrates that the light and dark fringe in Young's double-slit experiment is not actually the diffraction and interference pattern of light wave, and tries to reveal the real reason for its formation. We have studied the scattering phenomenon of particle flow after passing through the gap, and found that the scattering type and scattering degree of freedom of particle flow are determined by the physical parameters of particles and the gap, and the uniform scattering of particle flow can form a "yes" and "no" discrete distribution pattern on the receiving screen. Based on the "diffraction like" and "interference like" mechanism of particle flow, this paper explains the electron diffraction and interference experiment, as well as the Young's double-slit interference experiment and the diffraction of light through circular holes and plates. This paper negates the wave-particle duality and the de Broglie material wave hypothesis, fundamentally shaking the foundation of modern quantum mechanics, and has great scientific significance.

Comprehensive Double Slit Experiments Showing that Light Is Photons

Hui Peng

Young’s double slit experiments have been descripted by wave theories, i.e., before and after passing through a double slit, the light is waves. To test the wave description, we extend the double slit experiments to the comprehensive double slit experiments which are the classical double slit experiments with added either Shield, or Blocker, or Metal tube, or Combination of Shield and Blocker, or Photon-Chamber, or Lens. We propose both “Postulate on light: light is photons before and after passing through double slit” and “Postulate on lens: light behaves same before and after passing through lens”. Then, we show the novel phenomena of the comprehensive double slit experiments: (1) the light is photons, not waves, before and after passing through a double slit; (2) it is the photons that form both the non-interference patterns and interference patterns in the same experiment; (3) the non-interference patterns gradually evolve to the interference patterns in the same experiment. We refer to the novel phenomena as “PhotoWave phenomena” that are universal. The comprehensive double slit experiments provide the novel phenomena for developing theoretical model to study: (1) the nature of the light; (2) the wave theories of the light; (3) the quantum theory of the light. A complete explanation is demanded and should describe all the comprehensive double slit experiments consistently.
