Robust Long-Distance Quantum Key Distribution Using Proxy Encryption and Secure Cloud-Based Solutions

Rashmita Routray, Shuthanshu Marwaha, Srikrishna Baskar Rao +3 more

The secure communication system called Quantum Key Distribution (QKD) needs improvements in long-distance implementation because energy loss and eavesdropping threats exist. The authors present the Multi-layer Proxy Encryption Scheme (MPES) which combines proxy re-encryption together with entangled quantum particles to achieve security enhancements along with distant QKD transmission capability. Quantum repeaters within the MPES model conduct multiple encryption and decryption operations which guards fiber-optic channel data transfers. The trust-based shortest path algorithm enables more efficient photon transfer which leads to decreased transmission loss and improved efficiency. The experimental data shows that key errors decreased by 62.5% while energy efficiency increased by 90.90% when implementing the MPES against standard BB84 protocol operation. Optimal conditions for photon mean free path required keeping wavelengths at 0.0051 nm and determined the most efficient photon energy span to be between 0.01 MeV. The new modeling system enhances quantum communication protection and simultaneously achieves satisfactory key transmission speeds. The conducted research shows MPES presents itself as an effective solution for quantum-secure communication at extended ranges within cloud environments.

CCA-Secure Type-Based Proxy Re-Encryption Without Pairings

Linru Ma

Type-based proxy re-encryption is an effective and efficient cryptographic solution to ciphertext delegation and distribution, which also enables the ciphertext owners to carry out fine-grained delegation control. In this paper,we propose a new type-based proxy re-encryption scheme without pairings and prove it against the chosen-ciphertext attack(CCA) in the random oracle model.Compared with the existing type-based proxy re-encryption schemes constructed with pairings, our scheme owns better efficiency as well as the master key security.

Lattice‐based unidirectional Proxy Re‐Encryption and Proxy Re‐Encryption + schemes

Kunwar Singh, Chandrasekharan Pandu Rangan, Samir Sheshank +1 more

Abstract The concept of Proxy Re‐Encryption (PRE) was introduced by Blaze, Bleumer and Strauss at Eurocrypt in 1998. In this concept, a semi‐trusted proxy user acquires a re‐encryption key from the delegator. Then the proxy can easily convert the encrypted message under Alice's public key into an encrypted message under Bob's public key, without knowing the content of the message. For a unidirectional PRE, a master secret security (MSS) has been proposed as another security requirement by Ateniese et al. MSS provides security to the secret key of the delegator from computation by association with a malicious delegatee and dishonest proxy. In this study, first we have shown that Aono et al.'s scheme is not secure under the MSS model. Second, we have designed a unidirectional PRE scheme, based on Aono et al.'s study, and proved its security under the MSS model. In Table 2, we have shown that our scheme is more efficient in terms of computational and communication costs. Third, we have constructed a lattice‐based unidirectional PRE + scheme, similar to the scheme proposed by Wang et al. In this scheme the encryptor itself works as the delegator.
