Abstract

Communication technology is increasingly evolving, and the new generation of 5G is characterized by three main features: high capacity, high speed, and low latency. With the vigorous promotion and application of 5G communication technology in industrial automation, smart city, smart grid, healthcare and other fields, the security transmission problem of 5G network continues to receive widespread attention, how to utilize powerful encrypted communication algorithms to ensure the secure transmission of heterogeneous information data between massive devices is an urgent problem to be solved nowadays. Based on the basic principle of quantum key distribution, this paper proposes a quasi-real-time virtual key pool construction strategy, which improves the whole process of encryption service bearing through the quasi-real-time virtual key pool, and ensures the secure transmission of horizontal and vertical quantum keys of the distribution terminal.

Research on Grid Communication Encryption Quantum Key Encryption Transmission System Based on 5G Communication Terminal

Yanhua He, Yun Ren, Liwei Zhang +2 more

Based on 5G communication, this paper proposes a quantum key encryption method for the physical layer of power grid communication that uses single quantum key encryption to generate a key matrix to achieve the effect of improving the security of the communication system. The innovation of this method is that it can calculate the quantum key update frequency and distribution strategy of each power business by itself. At the same time, the power grid communication encryption algorithm can optimize the quantum key management control process of the quantum security encryption transmission equipment. It can solve the problems of low-key application efficiency or insufficient key that may exist in the current application due to the singleness of the quantum key strategy. Simulation studies show that this scheme can enhance the security and practicability of sensitive information in the power grid.

Research on Key Technologies of Quantum Key Distribution in 5G Power Private Network Communication Under Smart Grid

Yun Ren, Lei An, Gang Yang +5 more

This paper proposes a distribution network application scheme based on quantum secure communication and 5G hard slicing private network. The method can calculate the quantum key update frequency and distribution strategy of each power business by itself. The system performs the key self-evolution of the synchronization between the sender and the receiver by transmitting the random quantity of short length generated in the communication in the quantum channel. It replaces the traditional update method where a new full key must be sent and received after each update must be renegotiated. Finally, this paper proposes the key reading mode between the service terminal and the quantum key mobile storage device, the interface protocol between the service terminal device and the quantum key mobile storage device, and the key management method suitable for the power distribution service terminal. The experimental results show that the described method can realize the automation and intelligence of the optimal distribution of quantum keys for accurate data protection of various power services. This method can construct a precise and secure data protection mechanism based on quantum keys.

Hui Xiang, Yuxiang Lv, Julong Chen +4 more

The fifth-generation mobile communication (5G) has the advantages of high bandwidth, low time delay and low power consumption, and it can play an important role in all aspects of power transmission, substation, power distribution and electricity consumption, effectively making up for the disadvantages of traditional optical fiber communication and profoundly transforming the power communication network. However, the information security problems brought by the application of 5G technology are gradually becoming prominent. Based on this, a quantum key distribution strategy based on the quality of service (QoS) is proposed to improve the confidentiality of 5G electric power private network application scheme. Finally, the feasibility of quantum communication application in power dispatching system is verified. The test results show that the service quality of 5G private network meets the communication requirements of power grid services, the actual transmission delay of the power grid simulation dispatching data is about 1s, and there is no packet loss.

5G-Enabled Quantum-Secure Authentication Scheme for Distribution Network Communications

Julong Chen, Yu Wang, Yizhao Luo +2 more

The digitization of distribution networks necessitates robust, quantum-resistant communication protocols to secure end-to-main-station interactions amid escalating connectivity and quantum computing threats. Traditional cryptographic schemes, susceptible to Shor’s algorithm, prove inadequate in wireless settings marred by fading and interference, while prior QKD-5G hybrids neglect hierarchical architectures and service diversity. This paper proposes an innovative framework that fuses quantum key distribution (QKD) with 5G primitives—such as beamforming and network slicing—to realize stratified authentication, adaptive one-time-pad key distribution, and service-tailored protocols. Core innovations encompass threshold-based edge key pooling for enhanced scalability, channel state information (CSI)-driven QKD adaptations for noise mitigation, and convex-optimized slicing for isolating ultra-reliable low-latency (URLLC) and enhanced mobile broadband (eMBB) services. Security analysis establishes information-theoretic assurances against semi-honest adversaries, with simulations demonstrating superior key rates, low latencies, and large-scale terminal support—outperforming baselines in resilience. This framework propels quantum-secure smart grids forward, alleviating post-quantum vulnerabilities and promoting resilient energy systems.
