Abstract

Abstract We consider Yangians of gℓ(n) type, the L operators of Jordan-Schwinger form and corresponding Yang-Baxter relations. We discuss explicit forms of R operators and applications to Yangian symmetric correlators and operators of representation parameter permutations.

Integrable chains with Jordan - Schwinger representations

R. Kirschner

The restiction to the class of Jordan - Schwinger representations of sℓ ( n + 1) results in simple relations for the L matrices and in explicit expressions for the general Yang-Baxter operators as products of two parameter permutation operators. Limits are studied which are related to the finite dimensional representations and to degenerate Yangians. The analogy to the sℓ (2) case leads to analogous forms of global spin chain operators.

Yang-Baxter relations with orthogonal or symplectic symmetry

David Roudolph Karakhanyan, R. Kirschner

Solutions of the Yang-Baxter relations with orthogonal or symplectic symmetry are studied emphasizing the analogies of both cases. Starting from Jordan-Schwinger representations the distinguishing features of the spinor representation and its symplectic analogon are shown. The corresponding L matrix and the spinorial R operator are discussed.

Yang-Baxter solutions from commuting operators

Pramod Padmanabhan, Kun Hao, V. E. Korepin

We construct $R$-matrices (with a multidimensional spectral parameter) that include additive as well as non-additive parameters. They satisfy the colored Yang-Baxter equation. The solutions depend on a set of commuting operators. They change with the representation of the latter. The associated Yang-Baxter algebra and the spectrum of the transfer matrix are also studied.

Algebraic aspect and construction of Lax operators in quantum integrable systems

B Basu-mallick, Anjan Kundu

An algebraic construction more general and intimately connected with that of Faddeev1, along with its application for generating different classes of quantum integrable models are summarised to complement the recent results of ref. 1 ( L.D. Faddeev, Int. J. Mod. Phys. A10, 1845 (1995)). 1 A significant portion of an excellent recent review by Faddeev 1 is devoted to an important result showing deep relation between the Yang–Baxter equation and the quantum group. We are delighted to note that a scheme for systematic construction of the Lax operators through Yang–Baxterisation of the Faddeev–Reshetikhin–Takhtajan (FRT) algebra persued by us over the last few years 2,3 has an intimate connection with this approach. In fact our formulation gives a more general framework allowing construction of a wide range of Lax operators of lattice models and recovers the corresponding result of ref 1 related to Uqsl(2) as a particular case. Another convincing demonstration of the usefulness of our approach is that, the well known Lax operator of the lattice Liouville model 4 as well as the recently discovered 5 nontrivial spectral parameter dependent variant of it can be constructed directly and easily from our general form,

Yang–Baxter relations and orthogonal eigenbasis

Yoshio Kuramoto, Yusuke S. Kato

The spectrum of the Sutherland model for fermions with spin has a degeneracy. The orthogonal set of the basis of the Fock space of degenerate states is usually related to a Lie algebra such as su 2 and su 3 . In our case, however, the degeneracy extends to states with different values of total spin, and the ordinary Lie algebra is insufficient. The relevant algebra is called Yangian [43, 44], and is the algebra controlling those operators satisfying the Yang–Baxter relation [118, 178]. In this chapter we describe how the Yangian naturally emerges in the many-particle states described by Jack polynomials, and constructs an orthogonal basis of degenerate states. We concentrate here on the simplest case of the gl 2 Yangian, corresponding to spin 1/2 particles. More general cases will be discussed in Chapter 9. We introduce a variant of the R-matrix in Section 8.1, and its standard form in Section 8.2. We then introduce a monodromy matrix and discuss its algebraic properties, such as the Yang–Baxter relation and the intertwining property. In Section 8.4, we consider the action of the monodromy matrix on the set of states constituting the degenerate eigenstates. We will see that an element of the monodromy matrix plays the role of a creation or annihilation operator of orthogonal eigenfunctions. This means that all eigenfunctions can be generated algebraically from the highest-weight state, for example, by successive action of an element of the monodromy matrix. Thus, the degeneracy beyond the Lie algebra is accounted for by the symmetry of the monodromy matrix, which is nothing but the Yangian. A demonstration of this construction will be given in Section 8.5 for the two-particle and three-particle systems.
