A process of idea filtration in two distinct streams of physics i.e., 1) The dimensionality perspective of spacetime, and 2) The quantum perspective leads us to an understanding of what might be a true reality of all that we perceive. The conclusions arrived at in this paper are a bit perplexing in the sense that our perceived reality could be a manifestation of a combination of 4D + n (n > 0) flat space-time, universal wave function, and cognizance. The work is based on a review and analysis of the main concepts in quantum theory, relativistic physics, and cosmology. Key ideas and conclusions are filtered and logically connected to arrive at what might be a view of the true reality. A significant part of the paper is dedicated to the concept of the “observer” and the “ability of cognizance” that should accompany the “observer”. Though the “observer” is central to modern physics, it is not known what constitutes observation, and the term observer, often open to interpretations, does not have a standard definition and hence, is lacking in clarity. In our analysis, we have argued that the environment, in which the observer-observed system is embedded, emerges as an all-knowing, cognizant, and ideal observer that has the knowledge of the observer-observed system. At a philosophical level, we link to the fundamentals of physics, “consciousness” or “ability of cognizance” as an unavoidable and key element in not only carrying out the observation but perhaps, as believed by many, having a role in shaping the reality perceived. In the review and analysis of another stream of physics, that of General Theory of Relativity (GTR) and cosmology, we examine the question of reality from a cosmological and dimensionality perspective. Research on the 4D and 5D constructs of the universe indicates that the “reality” perceived in 4D spacetime as matter, distance, time, etc., is a manifestation of a higher dimensional 4D + n (n > 0) reality. Theoretical research on this front points towards a 4D-spacetime embedded in a 5D or higher dimensional flat space with matter and energy being a manifestation of the higher dimensions. The flow of logic in this paper leans towards a view of an ultimate true reality that is flat 4D + n (n > 0) space combined with cognizance, universal wave function, and the environment.

Abstract This article1 presents a two-part proposal aimed at exploring “reality” through unifying perspectives and universally consistent foundations. Both parts are inspired by Erwin Schrödinger’s principle of objectivation, particularly the function of the ‘Subject of Cognizance’ embedded within it, and the (seemingly unresolvable, yet inescapable!) issue of the ‘location’ of the boundary between the ‘observed’ and the ‘observer’ that arises in the interpretation of quantum theory. In the first part, it is argued that different interpretations of quantum theory could be viewed as complementary rather than as alternatives, for each interpretation provides insight into different aspects of reality, and thus, integrating perspectives from multiple quantum interpretations can offer a more holistic understanding of reality than relying on a single interpretation. The plausibility of this argument is explained with a brief reference to the phenomenon of electron double-slit interference. The second part of the proposal asserts that, it is essential to eliminate any discrepancy between the way in which the terms ‘physics’ and ‘reality’ are regarded in scientific inquiry, for developing a universal, all-encompassing and consistent world view of the latter — emphasising that not only the ‘observed’ but also the ‘observer’ (considered here as the measuring instrument or apparatus) and the ‘Subject of Cognizance’ (viewed here as the conscious observer) are integral parts of the whole reality. This assertion is supported by some specific remarks of Richard Feynman and David Bohm.
“For me then this is the real problem with quantum theory: the apparently essential conflict between any sharp formulation and fundamental relativity. That is to say, we have an apparent incompatibility, at the deepest level, between the two fundamental pillars of contemporary theory...” J. S. Bell (2004, p. 171) The inability to delineate a unified physical ontology that accounts simultaneously for the laws of special relativity and the results of quantum experiments has been a defining problem in physics for more than 100 years. Although various primitive ontologies (including Bohmian pilot wave, spontaneous collapse, and objective collapse theories) along with wave function realism ontologies, many-worlds interpretations, and multi-field theories address the tension between special relativity and quantum mechanics, none has successfully resolved it. This analysis addresses the problem by positing an ontic, mixed ontology composed of a “discrete” 4D spacetime and a physical, ultra-high dimensional (3 x N) “Planck Space.” Together, Planck Space and the three spatial dimensions of 4D spacetime form a tightly integrated ((3 x N) + 3) hyperspace (the “Dual Ontology”). 4D spacetime’s three spatial dimensions and the N dimensions of Planck Space are composed of two substructures: discrete, three-dimensional, quantized units of space ("Planck Spheres") and an ontic State of Absolute Nothingness (the "SOAN") whose sole physical characteristic is onticness. Critically, the Dual Ontology’s structure replaces 1) the continuous, differentiable manifold of 4D spacetime with a discrete 4D spacetime and 2) mathematical 3N configuration spaces with a physical (3 x N) Planck Space. Moreover, structurally and dynamically, the Dual Ontology is predicated on the one-to-one mapping and identity between the Planck Spheres that simultaneously form 4D spacetime and Planck Space. The one-to-one mapping and identity physically and theoretically support an integrated quantum dynamics based upon the dynamic evolution of single and N-body quantum states in 4D spacetime in full compliance with the laws of special relativity and the instantaneous collapse of all quantum states in an ontic Planck Space, where special and general relativity and more generally, 4D spacetime’s laws of physics, do not apply. This paper presents an ontological model of the universe based on information clusters and observer consciousness. The universe is not an independent physical spacetime structure, but a projective system composed of numerous self-consistent information clusters. Matter, motion, space, and time have no inherent reality; they only emerge as a stable, perceivable, and measurable "reality" when an observer’s consciousness enters an information cluster and interprets it. Different information clusters are independent or partially overlapping, corresponding to different projection angles and rule systems. Physical laws, dimensionality, particles, and interactions are merely internal narrative rules within an information cluster, not objective laws of an external world. This model unifies the understanding of quantum measurement, the holographic principle, the multiverse, and the apparent nature of spacetime, and is logically self-consistent without conflicting with known experimental phenomena.
The fundamental physical theories that interpret and explain behaviour of matter in nature are dependent on several unobservables and insensibles in their construction. While a rigorous natural philosophy cannot take them for granted, there does not seem to be a way of avoiding such unobservables in our theories. While a program to banish all unobservables from physical theory is unlikely to succeed, and perhaps even unnecessary, they are both the strong and weak points of the theoretical descriptions of physical nature. Analyzing them for empirical and philosophical consistency and integrity is always a promising path towards a better theory. In this paper, I examine the nature of physical reality in the context of unobservables in physics and discuss three examples. One is about the apparent loss of physical reality due to the need for a consistent quantum mechanical representation. The second example deals with the conflict between the assumed reality of quantum fields, so fundamental and essential to our standard physics worldview, and the dynamics of the observable universe. The third deals with an all-important difference between conventional modern physics constructed in the unreal and unobservable empty `space' and an empirically and logically determined physics with matter-filled universe as its arena. The acknowledgment of the observable matter-filled universe necessitates reformulation of dynamics with total relativity. Not surprisingly, this paradigm with its universal cosmic links also holds human concepts of harmony and beauty.
Perceived reality is an illusion. We exist in a universal quantum geometrical system that operates because of consciousness, not in isolation from it.Consciousness is not a byproduct of matter.Matter is arguably a by-product of consciousness, as matter is essentially structurally indistinct and far less tangible than what classical, materialist science has led us to believe.Consciousness stimulates excitations and changes in the quantum field; the omnipresent energy baseline field of the universe. This facilitates quantum collapse of probability waveforms that existed in super-position prior to this process.Reality is manifested initially via sound, and secondarily, via light, both of which are fundamentally quantum information data streams that encode holographic, atomic/quantum field geometrical constructs. These encoded quantum/sound/light geometrical formations, are essentially, reality. The classical physical world that we perceive and experience, and the nebulous, nonlinear, and exceptional nature of quantum mechanics, are potentially irreconcilable.Arguably, the only way this is not the case, is if an intermediary processing modality of physics can be found, one that bridges the diametrically opposed features of classical and quantum physics by incorporating and embodying, to varying extents, aspects from both. This research offers an appellation and classification for this third discipline: synthesist mechanics. If synthesist mechanics can be discovered, as our technological measuring capabilities continue to improve, which may render such a discovery possible, the inherent reality of both our perceived, classical reality, and the mechanics of quantum physics, will be affirmed. However, if synthesist mechanics cannot be found, as has proved to be the case thus far, we must accept the logical, deductive revelation this will pose, that ultimately, our perceived reality is nothing more than an interpretative illusion; a cognitive, translational impression that life subconsciously provides itself with in order to foster reflective, spatiotemporal, geometry-based interactions and experiences. This research confirms that we live in a self-rendering, generative illusion, which exists so that individualised shards of consciousness may interact with others.Ultimately, perceived reality is an illusion derived from the constant quantum interpretations that are made by consciousness via the quantum field. This process provides the unified consciousness behind reality with opportunities to experience, acknowledge, actualise, remove, or refine all possible variances of itself.Existence is the quantum dance consciousness performs in the darkness so that it may illuminate itself.
