Spatio-Temporal Steering for Testing Nonclassical Correlations in Quantum Networks

Shin-Liang Chen, Neill Lambert, Che-Ming Li +4 more

We introduce the concept of spatio-temporal steering (STS), which reduces, in special cases, to Einstein-Podolsky-Rosen steering and the recently-introduced temporal steering. We describe two measures of this effect referred to as the STS weight and robustness. We suggest that these STS measures enable a new way to assess nonclassical correlations in an open quantum network, such as quantum transport through nano-structures or excitation transfer in a complex biological system. As one of our examples, we apply STS to check nonclassical correlations among sites in a photosynthetic pigment-protein complex in the Fenna-Matthews-Olson model.

Enhancing quantum temporal steering via frequency modulation

Mengkai 孟凯 Wu 吴, Weiwen 维文 Cheng 程

Various strategies have been proposed to harness and protect space-like quantum correlations in different models under decoherence. However, little attention has been given to temporal-like correlations, such as quantum temporal steering (TS), in this context. In this work, we investigate TS in a frequency-modulated two-level system coupled to a zero-temperature reservoir in both the weak and strong coupling regimes. We analyze the impact of various frequency-modulated parameters on the behavior of TS and non-Markovian. The results demonstrate that appropriate frequency-modulated parameters can enhance the TS of the two-level system, regardless of whether the system is experiencing Markovian or non-Markovian dynamics. Furthermore, a suitable ratio between modulation strength and frequency (i.e., all zeroes of the 0th Bessel function J 0(δ/Ω)) can significantly enhance TS in the strong coupling regime. These findings indicate that efficient and effective manipulation of quantum TS can be achieved through a frequency-modulated approach.

Quantum Temporal Steering in a Dephasing Channel With Quantum Criticality

Бо Лю, Yixiao Huang, Zhe Sun

Abstract We investigate the quantum temporal steering (TS), i.e., a temporal analogue of Einstein‐Podolsky‐Rosen steering, in a dephasing channel which is modeled by a central spin half surrounded by a spin‐1/2 XY chain where quantum phase transition happens. The TS parameter and the TS weight are employed to characterize the TS dynamics. We analytically obtain the dependence of on the decoherence factor. The numerical results show an obvious suppression of and when the XY chain approaches to the critical point. In view of the significance of quantum channel, we develop a new concept, TS weight power, in order to quantify the capacity of the quantum channel in dominating TS behavior. This new quantity enables us to indicate the quantum criticality of the environment by the quantum correlation of TS in the coupled system.
