Abstract

Abstract This paper examines the dynamics of a W-configuration four-level atom in a quantized cavity field and the system driven by an external classical field. By applying some canonical transformations, we derive analytical solutions to the Schrödinger equation for the corresponding Hamiltonian. We have analyzed the impact of the external field and detuning parameters on the system’s relative entropy of coherence, Wigner function, and Pancharatnam phase. Our findings suggest that the external field parameter greatly affects the coherence of the system, whereas the detuning parameters may increase its maximum bounds. Furthermore, we have utilized the Wigner function as a tool to measure the quantumness and classicality of the system in its phase space. Our results indicate that the external field has a greater impact on the classicality of the system than the detuning parameters. Additionally, we have observed rapid oscillations in the dynamics of the Pancharatnam phase for large detuning values. It is worth noting that the external field reduces the number of phase jumps in the system.

Influence of an External Classical Field on a ♢ Four-Level Atom Inside a Quantized Field

Eied Mahmoud Khalil, Hanaa Abu-Zinadah, Mahmoud Youssef Abd‐Rabbou

In this paper, we study the effect of detuning parameters and driven external classical field parameters on a quantum system consisting of a ♢-configuration four-level atom inside a quantized cavity field. Under some canonical conditional of dressed states, the exact solution of the Schrödinger equation is obtained. The occupation of atomic levels and statistical population inversion is studied. Our results show that the classical field parameter dissolved the collapse periods and increased the maximum bounds of the upper state, while decreasing the lower bounds of the lower state. The detuning parameters reduce the minimum bounds of atomic levels and their inversion. On the other hand, the linear entropy and l1 norm of coherence are employed to measure the temporal evolution of the mixedness and coherence. It is found that the driven classical field improves the temporal evolution of the mixedness and lower bounds of coherence. However, the detuning parameters have a destructive effect on the mixedness and lower bounds of coherence. The intensity of the external classical field is regarded as a control parameter with different values of detuning parameters.

External field-induced squeezing in a four-level atom inside a cavity system

Eied Mahmoud Khalil, Mahmoud Youssef Abd‐Rabbou, Hammad Alotaibi +1 more

This paper delves into the influence of an external classical field on the statistical and dynamical properties of a four-level atom interacting with a cavity field. Leveraging mathematical transformations applied to the external classical field, the system?s wave function was derived. Subsequently, the impact of this external field and a detuning parameter on atomic inversion, Shannon-entropy, the Q-function, and relative coherence is explored. The analysis encompassed three distinct initial states for the atomic system. The results unveiled that the specific type of classical field employed acts as a control parameter, inducing squeezing within the system, as demonstrably evidenced by the Q-function analysis. Conversely, the influence of the detuning parameter exhibited dependence on the initial state of the atomic system. However, in broader terms, it appears to be responsible for driving the system towards chaotic behavior.

Effects of the vibrating graphene membrane and the driven classical field on an atomic system coupled to a cavity field

Maged Faihan Alotaibi, Eied Mahmoud Khalil, S. Abdel‐Khalek +2 more

This paper studies the dynamic effects of the driven external classical field on a system consists of a single two-level atom that interacted locally with a vibrating graphene membrane and a cavity field. The temporal wave function containing the tripartite interaction statuses via a canonical transformation and new resonance conditions is obtained. The possibility of studying the optimal behaviour of the quantum coherence and non-classicality for the graphene-field, atom-field, and atom-graphene states are investigated. It is found that the upper and lower bounds of the two phenomena depend on the detuning parameter, coupling strength of atom-graphene interaction, and initial atomic state. Based on the support of numerical computations, we demonstrate how to control the quantum system by the vibrating graphene membrane and the driven classical field.

Dynamics of a nonlinear time-dependent two two-level atoms in a two-mode cavity

Sameh T. Korashy, Tarek M. El-Shahat, Nabil Habiballah +2 more

In this paper, we present some properties through two two-level atoms interacting with a two-mode quantized cavity field. We study this system in the presence of detuning parameter, Kerr nonlinearity, Stark shift, relative phase and intensity-dependent atoms-field coupling. Also, the coupling parameter is modulated to be time dependent. The exact solution of this model is given by using the Schrődinger equation when the atoms and the field are initially prepared in superposition states and coherent states, respectively. We employed the results to calculate some aspects such as linear entropy, total atomic inversion and cross-correlation function.

Single‐Atom Entanglement for a System of Directly Linked Two Cavities in the Presence of an External Classical Field: Effect of Atomic Coherence

Abstract The Hamiltonian of a system composed of two standard Jaynes‐Cummings cells connected by the overlap of evanescent cavity fields, which allows photons to hop from the first cavity to the second and vice versa, and interacting with an external classical field, is simplified in the framework of unitary canonical transformations. James's method of the effective Hamiltonian is used in the derivation of two effective Hamiltonians with two completely dispersive regimes. Analytical expressions for the time dependent wavefunction and the elements of the reduced atomic operators for the different Hamiltonians are derived. The temporal evolution of atomic quantum entropy is calculated when the fields are initially in their vacuum states with various forms of the atomic initial states. Effects of the photon hopping strength, detuning and the various forms of the atomic initial states on the evolution of the von Neumann entropies are analyzed. The impact of the time‐average technique on the features resulting due to involving the controlling parameters and their influences on the considered functions is discussed. Damping is taken into account through a non‐Hermitian Hamiltonian and results are discussed. General conclusions reached are illustrated by numerical results.

Dynamics of quantum effects in a three-level system interacting with two-mode time-dependent fields including parametric down conversion and damping

Mohamad Kh. Ismail, A. H. Ahmed, Tarek M. El-Shahat +3 more

In this article, the interaction between a time-dependent damping field and Λ-type of three-level atom is investigated. The effect of the atom and the fields' parameters on the behaviour of the atomic inversion, the generated entanglement between the atom and the cavity modes, the Pancharatnam geometric phase are discussed. It is shown that the phenomena of the collapses and revivals for the three physical quantities depend on the time-dependent coupling and the damping parameter. The long-lived behaviour of the non-classical correlation is observed either on the presence of only time-dependent coupling or at large values of the damping parameter. The damping effect has different features on the three phenomena, where the atomic inversion decays, the upper bounds of entanglement increases and increases periodic time of the Pancharatnam geometric phase.
