Abstract

We study the propagation of OAM-beams in a system of two optical fibers which are twisted anisotropic and multihelical fiber. We established that at certain parameters of the fibers such a system can be used for implementation of a logical operation which is equivalent to the logic of sequential used two fundamental quantum gates - controlled NOT (controlled inversion) and SWAP - for circularly polarized optical vortices.

All-fiber SWAP-CNOT gate for optical vortices

We study the propagation of optical vortices in a system which consists of a tandem of a multi-helical and twisted anisotropic fiber. We show that at certain resonance regimes of the optical fibers such a system allows one to control sign flipping of the topological charge and the circular polarization of the input optical vortex. Moreover, parameters of the multihelical and the twisted anisotropic fibers are established for the implementation of a logical operation that corresponds to the sequential executing of two fundamental SWAP and CNOT gates over the states of circularly polarized optical vortices.

SWAP and Fredkin gates for OAM optical beams via the sandwich of anisotropic optical fibers

We study the propagation of circularly-polarized optical vortices of higher order topological charges ℓ ≥ 2 in a sandwich of multihelical - anisotropic - multihelical fibers on the basis of the Jones formalism for modes with orbital angular momentum. We demonstrate that such a system can operate as the all - fiber two - bit SWAP as well as universal tree - bit controlled-SWAP (Fredkin) gates over states of optical vortices, in which the mode radial number carries the control bit, while circular polarization and topological charge are the controlled bits.

Toffoli gate in twisted anisotropic and multihelical optical fibers

We demonstrate the ability to use multihelical and twisted anisotropic fibers to implement the all-fiber stable logical element controlled-controlled-NOT gate (Toffoli gate). In twisted anisotropic fibers, we imply the radial number and the topological charge of input optical vortex as the control bits and the circular polarization carries the target bit. In multihelical fiber, the circular polarization and the radial number carry the control bits, while the topological charge carries the target one.

Quantum CNOT gates with orbital angular momentum and polarization of single-photon quantum logic

Li-Ping Deng, Haibo Wang, Kaige Wang

We propose a polarization-controlled-NOT (P-CNOT) gate and an orbital-angular-momentum-controlled-NOT (OAM-CNOT) gate for single-photon two-qubit quantum logic. Both of the controlled-NOT (CNOT) gates are simple and deterministic. Moreover the entanglement swap between polarization and orbital angular momentum (OAM) can be realized using the P-CNOT gate and the OAM-CNOT gate.

Quantum and classical polarization stochasticity and optical switching in the Stokes parameters of light in a tunnel-coupled optical fiber

A. P. Alodjants, A. Yu. Leksin, Sergei M Arakelyan

The analysis of formation of chaotic quantum states for two (or four) orthogonally polarized modes in a tunnelly-coupled optical fiber has been carried out. A special attention is devoted both to the structure of arising polarization instabilities and to the possibility to control of such a quantum state by procedure of quantum nondemolition measurements. New effect of polarization switching is obtained and we discuss the problem of both coding of information and construction of quantum logical elements for quantum computing. The optical schemes to realize the quantum AND (NOT-AND), OR (NOT-OR) and controlled-NOT gates with quantum nondemolition filtering of the signal are proposed.

In the present paper we demonstrate the possibility of using a circular optical fiber endowed with a flexural acoustic wave to implement the all-fiber stable gate controlled-NOT for optical vortices. We imply the radial number as the control bit, while the topological charge carries the target one.
