Abstract

There has been an influence on the theory of numbers because of quantum computers. The approach may have a significant impact outside the realm of classical physics. Quantum information and quantum cryptography are two diverse branches of quantum information processing using qubits instead of binary bits. Theory of quick computation with multiple complexity levels will shortly transform into actual through current developments in quantum computers. It does away with most classical science areas of computational and cybersecurity sciences. The goal of this project is to introduce quantum concepts and practices into cryptography, which will lead to the evolution of quantum cryptography. One of the most incredible works of quantum physics is quantum information theory. It is not possible to calculate the state of any device without disrupting it. The new theory of quantum mechanics has an essential impact on the security of commonly used cryptosystems. This chapter aims to establish a groundbreaking quantum key distribution scheme for digital data.

A Survey on Quantum-Cryptographic Image Encryption for Secure Storage

Mr. Suresh R

The aim of this paper is to explore and implement cutting-edge quantum cryptographic techniques to enhance the security of image data storage. Leveraging principles from quantum computing and cryptography, the project seeks to develop an advanced image encryption system that ensures unprecedented levels of security. By harnessing the unique properties of quantum mechanics, such as superposition and entanglement, the proposed system will establish a robust foundation for encrypting images, surpassing the limitations of classical cryptographic methods. The utilization of quantum key distribution protocols will add an additional layer of security, making it virtually impossible for adversaries to intercept or compromise sensitive image data during storage. This endeavor not only addresses the escalating cybersecurity concerns surrounding image storage but also contributes to the advancement of quantum technologies in practical applications. The project envisions a novel paradigm in image encryption, fostering a secure environment for sensitive visual information across various domains, including healthcare, finance, and defense. Keywords—Quantum Mechanics, Quantum Computing, cryptography, secure.

A study on the development of quantum cryptography and some challenging issues

Malinka Ivanova, Emanuil Ilchov

Quantum cryptography is a revolutionary field that applies the principles of quantum mechanics to provide secure communication channels. One of the most popular techniques in quantum cryptography is Quantum Key Distribution, which uses quantum states to deliver secure keys. The main advantage of quantum cryptography is that it offers protection against eavesdropping and tampering, which is not possible with classical encryption methods. This is because copying data in a quantum state is virtually impossible, and any attempt to intercept or manipulate the data will result in its complete alteration. As a result, any third-party interference can be detected quickly. Traditional cryptographic algorithms used in modern cryptography are vulnerable to attacks due to the evolution of quantum computers and mathematical advances in the decomposition of large integers. Therefore, the solution to address this vulnerability is to apply the principles of quantum physics to cryptography. The aim of the paper is to survey the current scientific achievements in the field of quantum cryptography and to present some challenging issues.

The security of quantum cryptography

Justin C. Miller

A common desire in today's world is that of security. Whether it is keeping your e-mail private or stopping the government from hacking into your computer, the idea behind cryptography is to communicate between two parties in different locations, and to secure this information from outsiders. During the last half century there have been numerous advances in encryption schemes and also in the machines that process such information. Modern encryption algorithms have become increasingly more complex with advances in computers and technology, and encryption algorithms such as RSA and DES have been presented as algorithms that have remained secure for decades. These recent advances in encryption schemes will be examined in the first part of this paper. On the other hand, because the security of classical ciphers relies on the secrecy of a key, advances in research and computing may begin to compromise the security of these cryptosystems, as quantum computers would be capable of mathematical calculations that could break many modern encryption algorithms. Unlike classical cryptosystems, quantum cryptography obeys the laws of quantum physics, resulting in a much stronger, provable security. Many great advances have come in recent decades, and the latter part of this paper deals with these advances as well as the phenomena of quantum physics, the evolution of quantum computing, and the study of quantum cryptography.

Quantum Public Key Cryptography

Devang Pandya, P.S. Solanki, Rakeshkumar Vanzara +1 more

Cryptography is not for secure the sensitive data but now days it is compulsory in many applications like IoT, Cloud Platform, business systems and so on. A new area of advanced information technology called quantum-computing uses the unique characteristics of quantum physics to solve complex problems, which are beyond the powers of even the most robust classical/powerful computers. Security is the major concern in the area of quantum computing environment. Quantum cryptography, in addition, merely practices the ideologies of quantum mechanism to encrypt/decrypt data and transmit it in a way that cannot be hacked by anyone. This chapter explores the area of quantum public key cryptography, which seeks to create cryptographic building blocks that can withstand attacks from a quantum computing-enabled adversary. Chapter begins with fundamental principles of quantum mechanics, cryptography, quantum cryptography, quantum public key cryptography and, core families of quantum-resistant public key schemes.

Quantum Cryptography

R. Thenmozhi, D. Vetriselvi, A. Arokiaraj Jovith

Cryptography is the process of encrypting data or transforming plain text to ciphertext so that it can be deciphered only by appropriate key. Quantum cryptography employs quantum physics principles to encrypt and transport data in an unpackable manner. Quantum key distribution (QKD) is a technique for creating and exchanging private keys over quantum channels between two parties. Then, using standard cryptography, the keys can be used to encrypt and decrypt messages. Unbreakable encryption is something we really must have. The integrity of encrypted data is now in danger due to the impending development of quantum computers. Fortunately, quantum cryptography, via QKD, provides the answer we require to protect our information for a very long time to come. This is all based on the intricate principles of quantum mechanics. This chapter is discussing the various algorithms used and the applications of quantum cryptography.

THE EVOLUTION OF LAW CONCEPT OF INFORMATION: FROM PHILOSOPHICAL ABSTRACTION TO QUANTUM INFORMATION AND CRYPTOGRAPHY IN THE CONTEXT OF GROWING CYBER THREATS AND THE TRANSITION TO POST-QUANTUM SECURITY METHOD

Sergey Polyakov, Лилия Викторовна Смешкова, Vyacheslav Lapin +3 more

The article examines the significant transformation of the concept of information and its impact on modern security technologies. Until the middle of the 20th century, the concept of information was considered as a philosophical category related to the transfer of knowledge and meaning. With the advent of Claude Shannon's communication theory, information was reinterpreted as a measurable and transferable quantity, which opened up new horizons for the development of fields such as coding theory and cybernetics. The introduction of the bit as a unit of information measurement allowed for a more accurate analysis of data transmission processes. Landauer and Bennett's research has shown that information has a physical nature, closely related to energy and entropy. In recent decades, the concept of information has begun to play an important role in quantum theory, which has given rise to such areas as quantum information and quantum cryptography. In the face of increasing cybersecurity threats, quantum cryptography can become a reliable basis for protecting critical information systems. Existing post-quantum algorithms, although they have larger keys, can serve as a substitute for traditional security systems. The development of new standards and the transition to post-quantum security methods are becoming important steps to ensure data security in the near future. Quantum cryptography offers not only adaptation to new challenges, but also a fundamentally new level of security previously inaccessible to classical cryptographic systems, which makes it a key element for data protection in the future. Conclusion. The presented work demonstrates the evolution of the concept of information from a philosophical abstraction to a practical and measurable entity in the field of computer science, physics and cryptography. The article highlights the importance of quantum cryptography as a means of protection against future threats in the field of cybersecurity, offering both a theoretical and practical basis for protecting critical information. Taking into account the further development of quantum information science, its impact on data security and protection will have a significant impact on the formation of future cybersecurity strategies in various industries.
