Problem of coherence in modern optoelectronics and relaxed optics

Petro P. Trokhimchuck, I. Dmytruk

The problem of coherence in modern optoelectronics (MOE) and Relaxed Optics (RO) is discussed. Classical and quantum conceptions of coherence are analyzed. Problem of coherence in RO is represented as problem of creation and change of coherent structures. Other problems of coherence breakdown, including phase coherence, and here applications in MOE and RO are discussed too.

A coherent view of modern optics

Marlan O. Scully

After 20 years and more than a thousand pages, Mandel and Wolf's tome on classical and quantum coherence in modern optics has arrived. It is clearly a gargantuan effort and its appearance is enthusiastically greeted by every student of optical sciences, including me, particularly given its very reasonable price tag.
