An Introduction to Field Quantization

Yasushi Takahashi, C. L. Hammer

An Introduction to Field Quantization is an introductory discussion of field quantization and problems closely related to it. Field quantization establishes a commutation relation of the field and finds an operator in such a manner that the Heisenberg equation of motion is satisfied. This book contains eight chapters and begins with a review of the quantization of the Schroedinger field and the close relation between quantized field theory and the many-body theory in quantum mechanics. These topics are followed by discussions of the quantization of the radiation field and the field of lattice

Quantization of Fields and Second Quantization

Avinash Sharma

Essential contents on quantization of fields and second quantization, which are necessary for undergraduate and graduate level, are presented in this chapter. An innovative approach is used for the presentations and the discussions on field quantization and second quantization for systems of Bosons and Fermions. The chapter covers field operators, the procedure of second quantization and its use for the Schrödinger equation for both Bosons and Fermions, matrix representation of Fermionic operators, number operators for both Bosons and Fermions, and systems of weakly interacting Bosons and Fermions. A good number of solved examples and unsolved exercises clarify the basic concepts behind quantization of fields and second quantization.

Some generalizations of field quantization and statistics

Bodo Geyer B

Only the field theoretical aspects of quantization are considered. The genaral properties of quantizations, quantization of the dimensional systems, field quantization with bilinear Hamiltonians, and uncoupled oscillators are discussed. (JFP)
