Abstract

A nonlinear disturbed model for a class of Fermi gases in optical lattices was investigated. Firstly, in the nondisturbed case, the exact solution of the model path curves of Fermi gases in optical lattices was given. Secondly, the generalized functional analysis homotopic mapping was introduced and an iterative system was constructed, the arbitrary order asymptotic solution to the nonlinear disturbed model for the path curves of Fermi gases in optical lattices was obtained. Finally, a nonlinear small disturbance system was studied. With the proposed method, the asymptotic expressions of the path curves can be conveniently formulated and further extended.

Asymptotic expressions of path curve for a class of Fermi gases in nonlinear disturbed mechanism

Shi Lan-Fang, Xianfeng Chen, Han Xiang-Lin +2 more

The model of nonlinear disturbed mechanism for one-dimensional Fermi gas is investigated. Firstly, the corresponding functional is constructed; secondly, its Lagrange operator is selected; using the modified generalized variational iteration method, the approximate analytic solutions of corresponding path curves are obtained. A simple example is given, and the approximation accuracy obtained by using the modified generalized variational iteration method is shown to be better. The aim of this article is to provide a valid method of solving the nonlinear physical problems.

Exact solutions for equations of Bose-Fermi mixtures in one-dimensional optical lattice

Nikolay A. Kostov, Gerdjikov V.S., Valchev T.I.

We present two new families of stationary solutions for equations of Bose-Fermi mixtures with an elliptic function potential with modulus k. We also discuss particular cases when the quasiperiodic solutions become periodic ones. In the limit of a sinusoidal potential (k → 0) our solutions model a quasi-one dimensional quantum degenerate Bose- Fermi mixture trapped in optical lattice. In the limit k → 1 the solutions are expressed by hyperbolic function solutions (vector solitons). Thus we are able to obtain in an unified way quasi-periodic and periodic waves, and solitons. The precise conditions for existence of every class of solutions are derived. There are indications that such waves and localized objects may be observed in experiments with cold quantum degenerate gases.

Polarized Fermi gases in asymmetric optical lattices

Xiaoling Cui, Yupeng Wang

The zero-temperature phase diagrams of imbalanced two-species Fermi gases are investigated in asymmetric optical lattices with arbitrary potential depths, based on the exact spectrum instead of the Fermi-Hubbard model. We study the effect of lattice potentials and atomic densities to the fully paired Bardeen-Cooper-Schrieffer (BCS) state and particularly the Fulde-Ferrell-Larkin-Ovchinnikov (FFLO) state. It is found that the increasing lattice potential favors BCS at low densities because of the enhanced effective coupling, whereas FFLO is favored at intermediate densities when the system undergoes a dimensional crossover. Finally, using the local density approximation, we study the evolution of the phase profile in the presence of external harmonic traps by merely tuning the lattice potentials.

Self-trapping and periodic modulation of Fermi gases in optical lattices

Gou Xue-Qiang, Yan Ming, Ling Wei-Dong +2 more

The change of phase space and periodic modulation of Fermi gas from the BCS to unitarity is investigated in one-dimensional optical lattice. Through controlling the scattering length and coupling constant in unitarity, we find the critical values (from the Josephson oscillation to the oscillating-phase-type self-trapping and from the latter to the self-trapping), at the same time, we also find the relationship between the critical coupling constants and the scattering length.

Superfluid Fermi Gas in Optical Lattices: Self-Trapping, Stable, Moving Solitons and Breathers

Ju-Kui Xue, Ai‐Xia Zhang

We predict the existence of self-trapping, stable, moving solitons and breathers of Fermi wave packets along the Bose-Einstein condensation (BEC)-BCS crossover in one dimension (1D), 2D, and 3D optical lattices. The dynamical phase diagrams for self-trapping, solitons, and breathers of the Fermi matter waves along the BEC-BCS crossover are presented analytically and verified numerically by directly solving a discrete nonlinear Schrödinger equation. We find that the phase diagrams vary greatly along the BEC-BCS crossover; the dynamics of Fermi wave packet are different from that of Bose wave packet.
