A quantum handshake method based on quantum dialogue and wireless network

Qianqian Hu, Ying Zhang, Ziyan Zhao +1 more

With the development of quantum technology, the application of quantum characteristics to wireless networks has become a research hotspot. In this paper, a quantum handshake method based on quantum dialogue and wireless network has been proposed. At first, quantum computation is introduced and the IEEE802.11i is carefully discussed and analyzed. Then, by combining quantum dialogue with IEEE802.11i wireless network, a quantum handshake method is put forward, which can effectively guarantee the communication security of data in a wireless network. In terms of transmission time and security, quantum handshake method is better than classic handshake. In addition, the proposed scheme has high security and practicability.

An IEEE 802.11 quantum handshake using the three-stage protocol

Mayssaa El Rifai, Pramode K. Verma

This paper presents a model of integration of the Three-stage quantum cryptography protocol and its variants into the IEEE 802.11 wireless communication standard. The three-stage protocol is introduced during the quantum handshake as a replacement to the BB'84 protocol. Compared to the quantum handshake using BB'84, integrating the three-stage protocol offers several benefits such as enhanced data rates, fewer steps needed to establish the final key, longer distances, and increased number of photons that can be used during the transmission process. In addition, this paper presents a multi-agent software approach to implement the quantum handshake using the three-stage protocol.

Efficient Post-Quantum TLS Handshakes using Identity-Based Key Exchange from Lattices

Utsav Banerjee, Anantha P. Chandrakasan

Identity-Based Encryption (IBE) is considered an alternative to traditional certificate-based public key cryptography to reduce communication overheads in wireless sensor networks. In this work, we build on the well-known lattice-based DLP-IBE scheme to construct an ID-based certificateless authenticated key exchange for post-quantum Transport Layer Security (TLS) handshakes. We also propose concrete parameters for the underlying lattice computations and provide detailed implementation results. Finally, we compare the combined computation and communication cost of our ID-based certificate-less handshake with the traditional certificate-based handshake, both using lattice-based algorithms at similar postquantum security levels, and show that our ID-based handshake is 3.7× more energy-efficient, thus highlighting the advantage of ID-based key exchange for post-quantum TLS.
