Security knowledge is one of the foremost challenges in the present day. When the topic is about Information security, the concept of cryptography comes into the picture. Every day, people and organizations use cryptography to maintain the confidentiality of their communications and data as well as to preserve their privacy. Today, one of the most successful methods used by businesses to protect their storage systems, whether at rest or in transit, is cryptography. Yet, cryptography is an effective technique to secure the data, the modern technology can break the cryptographic techniques. But some data encryption algorithms are several times stronger than today's conventional cryptography and can be constructed using quantum computing. They are "Quantum Cryptographic Algorithms ". Quantum cryptography uses the rules of quantum physics instead of classical encryption, which is based on mathematics, to protect and transmit data in a way that cannot be intercepted. Quantum key distribution is the greatest illustration of quantum cryptography and offers a safe solution to the key exchange issue. The proposed work deals with quantum cryptography and mainly focuses on how the quantum cryptographic algorithm is more secure than traditional cryptography.
Quantum cryptography is a revolutionary field that applies the principles of quantum mechanics to provide secure communication channels. One of the most popular techniques in quantum cryptography is Quantum Key Distribution, which uses quantum states to deliver secure keys. The main advantage of quantum cryptography is that it offers protection against eavesdropping and tampering, which is not possible with classical encryption methods. This is because copying data in a quantum state is virtually impossible, and any attempt to intercept or manipulate the data will result in its complete alteration. As a result, any third-party interference can be detected quickly. Traditional cryptographic algorithms used in modern cryptography are vulnerable to attacks due to the evolution of quantum computers and mathematical advances in the decomposition of large integers. Therefore, the solution to address this vulnerability is to apply the principles of quantum physics to cryptography. The aim of the paper is to survey the current scientific achievements in the field of quantum cryptography and to present some challenging issues.
This paper deals with an introduction to quantum cryptography, differences between conventional and quantum cryptography, its applications, drawbacks & its advantages over conventional cryptography. Quantum cryptography is the phenomenon of making cryptographic tasks using the principles of quantum physics. Quantum key distribution (QKD) is one of the leading applications of quantum cryptography which makes the applications, servers, databases, emails & social media handles more securable, i.e., not hackable. Quantum cryptography is a trail to permit two users of a common communication channel to transmit or create secure information between them. This information which is in the form of a random string of bits can be converted to even more strong and unbreakable if used with the help of quantum cryptography. The advantage of quantum cryptography over conventional cryptography is that the information which is being stored or shared is in the quantum state which means it is highly impossible to hack or copy the data. The Heisenberg uncertainty principle and quantum entanglement can be exploited as a system of secure communication in this process. Quantum cryptography takes advantage of quantum’s multiple states, including its “no change theory,” which implies it cannot be unwittingly interrupted. The Uncertainty principle states that it is impossible to simultaneously know the accurate position and momentum of a particle. Quantum cryptography holds both guarantees and threats for our current crypto logical infrastructure. The pretty obvious threat is that quantum computers might decrypt data that has already been encrypted using many of our current systems. However, it conjointly holds the promise of secure communications channels for key distribution. Sooner or later, with correct & clean usage of quantum technology, it may even be possible to build entire encryption systems that are considered unbreakable and unbackable.

In Our daily life we are getting very much dependent on Internet or Virtual Reality. They are nothing but an illusion of a Cyberspace. It has effect on our every aspect of life, like Education, Sports, and Health etc. We are using the term Cryptography which is the science of using mathematics to encrypt and decrypt data. We had used various Encryption standards in back days namely, DES, AES, RSA, Elliptical AES etc. But nowadays we are using Quantum Cryptography for this. It is nothing but use of Physics (mainly Quantum Physics) for Encrypting the data. In this Research paper we will mainly focus on the new approaches that come in the path of Quantum Cryptography. We will also view some interaction of Quantum Cryptography in future Internet services. Quantum computing is yet to be explored but still the explored part has the capabilities to counter the “alien” hacking protocols if tested over any System. Older System were using protocols like RSA, AES, DES even some of them are more capable than our need, but the use of QC will not only secure the systems but there are major chances that eavesdropper got caught while eavesdropping. Also QC is a pathway to secure communication. This paper includes the review of older state of Quantum Cryptography which will give us information about QKD algorithms and its protocol and we will also overview on its risk and security features. We will also provide a glimpse of current various works going in various Educational Institutions.
Quantum cryptography represents a revolutionary approach to securing data in the era of quantum computing. Traditional cryptographic methods, which are the backbone of modern digital security, are vulnerable to the computational power of quantum computers. Quantum cryptography, leveraging the principles of quantum mechanics, offers a fundamentally more secure method of encryption that is resistant to the threats posed by quantum-based attacks. This paper explores the fundamental principles of quantum cryptography, the technologies driving its development, and its potential applications in safeguarding sensitive information. We discuss quantum key distribution (QKD) and quantum encryption protocols as the primary tools in this new paradigm, as well as the challenges and limitations of implementing quantum cryptography in real-world systems. The paper concludes by considering the future implications of quantum cryptography for global data protection, its integration with classical encryption techniques, and the steps required to transition to a quantum-secure world.
