Quantum computing is poised to revolutionize the field of artificial intelligence and cloud computing. Recent technological advancements have led to several challenges in modern computing, where conventional systems struggle to efficiently solve complex problems such as complicated chemical structures, supply chains, financial modeling, and risk evaluation [1]. Quantum computing, with its unique ability to harness the principles of quantum mechanics, offers a promising solution to these challenges. Moreover, the emergence of cloud-based quantum computing services is democratizing this transformative technology, allowing startups and researchers to experiment with quantum algorithms without the need for their own quantum hardware. [2] This research paper explores the convergence of quantum computing and cloud-based artificial intelligence, highlighting the potential for a new era of intelligent computing that can tackle complex problems with unprecedented speed and efficiency. The recent demonstration of quantum supremacy, where a quantum computer outperformed a classical computer in a specific task, has been a significant milestone in the field of quantum computing. However, there is still much progress to be made on the road to solving real-world problems with quantum computers and achieving quantum advantage. While the field of quantum computing is still in its early stages, the anticipated opportunities offered by the unique computational power of quantum computers have attracted investment from research universities, technology giants, startups, and governments around the world. As the field continues to advance, the synergy between quantum computing and cloud-based artificial intelligence is poised to usher in a new era of intelligent computing, where complex problems can be solved with unprecedented speed and efficiency.
Quantum computing uses the phenomena of quantum mechanics to perform operations on data and it’s a huge leap in the field of computation. A quantum computer is a computational device which uses quantum mechanical phenomena like superposition and entanglement of atoms, photons, electrons. The difference between Quantum computers and digital computers is that digital computers are based on transistors and require data to be encoded into binary digits (bits). Quantum computers use quantum bits (qubits) and use quantum properties to represent data. Quantum computers can solve certain computational problems like integer factorization faster than classical computers. Quantum computers can solve certain problems that no classical computer could solve in any feasible amount of time. The Quantum Computing Market was valued at USD 89M in the year 2016 and is expected to reach USD 949M by 2025. Industry leaders are trying to develop and launch an actual quantum computer and make it available for everyone. Many companies are working in this area and are providing platforms to build quantum algorithms. There could be around 2,000 to 5,000 quantum computers in the world by 2030. This paper provides an introduction to quantum computing, quantum mechanical phenomena used in quantum computing and quantum computing service providers
The growing integration of cloud computing and artificial intelligence (AI) has remarkably transformed modern computing, enabling organizations and researchers to process vast amounts of data and solve increasing complex problems. However, as data volumes and computational requirements continue to grow, traditional computing systems are increasingly challenged in meeting these demands. In this context, quantum computing has evolved as a revolutionary technology with the potential to perform certain computations far more efficiently than classical computers. When integrated with cloud platforms, quantum computing becomes accessible to a broader community through remote, on-demand services, giving rise to the concept of Quantum Cloud Computing. At the same time, Quantum Machine Learning (QML) is opening new possibilities by combining the power of quantum computing with advanced machine learning techniques. Together, these technologies are shaping a new paradigm known as Quantum Cloud Intelligence, where cloud infrastructure, quantum resources, and AI work in synergy to enhance computational capabilities and support intelligent decision-making. This chapter examines the foundations and evolution of Quantum Cloud Intelligence, highlighting its key technologies, architectures, and emerging applications. It explores how quantum-enabled cloud platforms can contribute to fields such as healthcare, finance, cybersecurity, scientific research, smart cities, and industrial automation. The chapter also discusses the opportunities offered by quantum-enhanced analytics, optimization, and predictive modelling, while addressing important challenges related to scalability, security, privacy, hardware constraints, and skill development. Looking ahead, the chapter considers future trends including hybrid quantum-classical systems, Quantum Computing as a Service (QCaaS), and the development of scalable quantum AI ecosystems. It argues that the integration of quantum computing, cloud technologies, and AI has the potential to redefine the future of intelligent computing and drive innovation across multiple disciplines. As these technologies continue to mature, Quantum Cloud Intelligence is expected to play a pivotal role in addressing complex global challenges and shaping the next generation of digital transformation.
Quantum computing is emerging as a key enabler of digital transformation in data science and STEM education. This study investigates how quantum computing can be meaningfully integrated into higher education by combining a dual approach: a structured assessment of the specialized literature and a practical evaluation of educational tools. First, a science mapping study based on 281 peer-reviewed publications indexed in Scopus (2015–2024) identifies growth trends, thematic clusters, and international collaboration networks at the intersection of quantum computing, data science, and education. Second, a comparative analysis of widely used educational platforms—such as Qiskit, Quantum Inspire, QuTiP, and Amazon Braket—is conducted using pedagogical criteria including accessibility, usability, and curriculum integration. The results highlight a growing convergence between quantum technologies, artificial intelligence, and data-driven learning. A strategic framework and roadmap are proposed to support the gradual and scalable adoption of quantum literacy in university-level STEM programs.
