The leading cause and foremost reason for mortality and morbidity in the world is a group known as Noncommunicable Diseases. The best approach to treat them is to evaluate and control the risk factors. There are shared by all these diseases leading to the existence of some meeting points behind all of them. There should be some key to acquire conditions that modify the cells homeostasis and impaired the cell physiology developing different diseases. Physics try to explain the nature of the phenomena that surround us, at first, at the level of our macroscopic perception. Quantum physics studied the atomic and subatomic particles and revolutionized the reality perception with paradoxical and weird concepts. Heisenberg's uncertainty principle established that it is not possible to determine the two characteristic properties of particles with accuracy; measurement affects the system and change it. Subatomic particles have a wave-particle duality that could be in a coherence statement, also can pass through high-energy barriers. Two subatomic particles are entangled, something happening over here can have an instantaneous effect over there, no matter how far away there are. All these concepts have tried to apply to biology and life sciences, especially when classical physics fails to give an accurate description. Quantum biology is behind photosynthesis, mitochondrial respiration, enzyme activity, the sense of smell, animal migration, heredity's fidelity, and consciousness. We can apply all these concepts to diseases pathogeny. So, we describe quantum phenomena in oxidative stress, calcification, signal transduction, vitamin D production, cancer mutations, and microbiome induced pathology. I want to propose that medicine also can be explained by applying quantum physics concepts. It is a new, hard to believe, and an incredible path to be built, but we need to open the treatment options to our patients with new perspectives.

The interrelation between quantum physics and biology was once excluded as impossible, but it is now being reconsidered in unexpected and unprecedented ways. Quantum biology is a novel frontier of science that studies quantum effects in biological systems: Life functions and senses of perceptions appear to be mediated by quantum mechanical processes, which allow living organisms to sustain themselves and experience reality. Photosynthesis, magnetoreception, olfaction, and potentially our sense of consciousness would be possible through the weird quantum-energetic behavior of subatomic particles. Modern medicine is being impacted as well by the quantum revolution, with a shift in perspective from material particles to energy fields, in accordance with the principles of traditional medical systems, such as Ayurveda, Traditional Chinese Medicine, and Homeopathy.
Biological processes such as photosynthesis, enzymaticcatalysis, smell, and vision, which cannot be explained by the laws of classical physics, can be addressed by quantum physics, specifically biological physics, and thus be transferred to phenomena described in the health sciences. This will undoubtedly revolutionize the understanding of human life. For example, within the framework of quantum biology, consciousness and the soul are believed to be contained in microtubules, structures within brain cells. The understanding and subsequent prediction of chemical reactions responsible for the signs and symptoms of disease, and for health (homeostasis), are addressed by quantum science, which allows us to redescribe the properties of DNA and proteins. This essay presents reflections on the fundamental processes that occur in humans from a quantum perspective, a possible dialogue despite the limited number of quantum theories and the pretension of considering the complex phenomena that characterize the health sciences as classical and reductionist.
In classical physics, the world is considered as a matter-based reality, the arrangement of whose parts in time is uniquely determined by certain dynamic laws. By contrast, modern quantum physics reveals that matter is not composed of matter, but reality is merely potentiality. The world has a holistic structure, which is based on fundamental relations and not material objects, admitting more open, indeterministic developments. In this more flexible causal framework, inanimate and animate matter are not to be considered as fundamentally different but as different order structures of the same immaterial entity. In a stable configuration, effectively all the uncertainties are statistically averaged out, thus the unique and deterministic behavior of ordinary inanimate matter is exhibited; whereas in the case of statically unstable but dynamically stable configurations, the “lively” features of the underlying quantum structure have a chance to surface to the mesocopic level and to be connected with what we observe as the phenomenon of life. This supposition can be more explicitly treated and clarified by identifying the electric dipole moment of biomolecules as the ordering parameter of the corresponding macroquantum system. This has important consequences for biology and medicine. In particular, it suggests the existence of a quantum-based “software,” essential perhaps for the logistics of biological processes, which are hidden behind the matter/energy-based “hardware” that alone is considered in the conventional approach. In medicine it opens an opportunity to build bridges between conventional medicine based essentially on the classical paradigm, and the various forms of complementary medicine, which have strong affinities with the new features of the modern holistic worldview.
Quantum mechanics, the branch of physics that deals with the behavior of matter and energy at atomic and subatomic scales, may seem like a highly theoretical subject confined to laboratories, but its principles are deeply embedded in our everyday lives. This study explores the profound influence of quantum mechanics on various phenomena and technologies that shape modern society. Concepts such as wave-particle duality, superposition, and quantum entanglement, though initially counterintuitive, provide explanations for numerous occurrences and innovations in our daily existence. One of the most visible impacts of quantum mechanics is in the realm of technology. Semiconductors, integral to devices like smartphones, computers, and televisions, operate on principles of quantum mechanics, enabling the development of advanced electronics. Additionally, quantum phenomena underpin technologies such as lasers, LEDs, and MRI machines, revolutionizing fields from medicine to communication.Quantum mechanics also plays a crucial role in natural processes, such as photosynthesis, where quantum coherence boosts energy efficiency in plants. In the biological realm, quantum effects influence senses like smell and vision, adding another layer to the complexity of life. Even the colors we see in objects or the efficiency of solar panels are outcomes of quantum principles at work. Beyond practical technologies, quantum mechanics challenges our fundamental understanding of the universe. Concepts like the uncertainty principle and quantum superposition disrupt classical views of reality, leading to new perspectives on causality and measurement. As quantum research progresses, its applications are poised to expand further, potentially leading to breakthroughs in fields like quantum computing, cryptography, and energy systems. This exploration emphasizes how quantum mechanics, despite its abstract nature, is central to both the technologies and the natural phenomena that define our everyday experiences.
Quantum biology is an innovative field that blends quantum mechanics and biology to explore how quantum phenomena influence biological processes. This review discusses the fundamental principles of quantum biology, its potential applications in medicine, materials science and energy production, as well as the ethical implications of its progress. By understanding the quantum intricacies of life, we can gain insights into disease mechanisms, develop innovative materials and harness sustainable energy sources. Quantum mechanics, essential for understanding atomic and subatomic behavior, underpins quantum biology, which examines processes like photosynthesis, olfaction and enzyme catalysis. Key principles include superposition, entanglement and tunneling, which may enhance biological efficiency, sensitivity and precision. Quantum biology’s potential spans various fields: in medicine and pharmacy, it could lead to new diagnostic tools and therapies; in materials science, it could inspire quantum materials for electronics, energy storage and sensing; in energy production, it could inform sustainable energy development through photosynthesis insights. However, ethical considerations are crucial. Quantum-enhanced medical technologies might widen healthcare disparities and advanced quantum materials could have mixed societal impacts. Open dialogue and ethical frameworks are necessary for responsible development. The future of quantum biology is promising, with ongoing research and interdisciplinary collaboration expected to yield innovative discoveries, fostering a sustainable and prosperous future.
