Reducing the detection of genuine entanglement of n qubits to two qubits

Dafa Li

We propose a criterion for the detection of genuine entanglement of pure multiqubit states. To this aim, we define an operator called the losing one qubit operator, which is different from the reduced density operator. The states obtained from a multiqubit state by applying the losing one qubit operator are referred to as its projected states. We show that all of the projected states of a pure product n-qubit state are pure product states provided that it cannot be written as a product of a single qubit state and a genuinely entangled (n-1)-qubit state. We also show that a pure n-qubit state is genuinely entangled provided that the state has at least two genuinely entangled (n-1)-qubit projected states. By repeating the losing process, we reduce the detection of entanglement of pure n-qubit states to the one of pure two-qubit states. Also we write a LISP program for the reduction process.

Verifying genuine multipartite entanglement of the whole from its separable parts

Michal Mičuda, Robert Stárek, Jan Provazník +2 more

We prove experimentally the predicted existence of a three-qubit quantum state with genuine multipartite entanglement which can be certified solely from its separable two-qubit reduced density matrices. The qubits are encoded into different degrees of freedom of a pair of correlated photons and the state is prepared by letting the photons to propagate through a linear optical circuit. The presence of genuine multipartite entanglement is verified by finding numerically a fully decomposable entanglement witness acting nontrivially only on the reductions of the global state. Our result confirms viability of detection of emerging global properties of composite quantum systems from their parts which lack the properties.

Detection of genuine tripartite entanglement by two bipartite entangled states

Yize Sun, Lin Chen

It is an interesting problem to construct genuine tripartite entangled states based on the collective use of two bipartite entangled states. We consider the case that the states are two-qubit Werner states, we construct the interval of parameter of Werner states such that the tripartite state is genuine entangled. Further, we present the way of detecting the tripartite genuine entanglement using current techniques in experiments. We also investigate the lower bound of genuine multipartite entanglement concurrence.
