Coherent states of the one-dimensional Dunkl oscillator for real and complex variables and the Segal–Bargmann transformation of Dunkl-type

Sami Ghazouani

Abstract In this paper, we construct coherent states of a parity deformation of the Heisenberg algebra and we examine some of its properties. We show that these states minimize the uncertainty principle and obey the classical equations of motion for the harmonic oscillator. Also they constitute a non-orthogonal over-complete system which yields a resolution of the identity operator. As a concrete realization of this algebra and its coherent states, we treat the quantum systems governed by the one-dimensional Dunkl oscillator for real and complex variables. We show that these quantum systems are unitary equivalent and the unitary equivalence is a Segal–Bargmann transformation of Dunkl-type.

An observation of quadratic algebra, dual family of nonlinear coherent states and their non-classical properties, in the generalized isotonic oscillator

V. Chithiika Ruby, Murugaian Senthilvelan

In this paper, we construct nonlinear coherent states for the generalized isotonic oscillator and study their non-classical properties in detail. By transforming the deformed ladder operators suitably, which generate the quadratic algebra, we obtain Heisenberg algebra. From the algebra, we define two non-unitary and one unitary displacement type operators. While the action of one of the non-unitary type operators reproduces the original nonlinear coherent states, the other one fails to produce a new set of nonlinear coherent states (dual pair). We show that these dual states are not normalizable. For the nonlinear coherent states, we evaluate the parameter A3 and examine the non-classical nature of the states through quadratic and amplitude-squared squeezing effect. Further, we derive analytical formula for the P-function, Q-function, and the Wigner function for the nonlinear coherent states. All of them confirm the non-classicality of the nonlinear coherent states. In addition to the above, we obtain the harmonic oscillator type coherent states from the unitary displacement operator.

A Quantum Group Approach to some Exotic States in Quantum Optics

Roger McDermott

This subject of this thesis is the physical application of deformations of Lie algebras and their use in generalising some exotic quantum optical states. We begin by examining the theory of quantum groups and the q-boson algebras used in their representation theory. Following a review of the properties of conventional coherent states, we describe the extension of the theory to various deformed Heisenberg-Weyl algebras, as well as the q-deformations of su(2) and su(1,1). Using the Deformed Oscillator Algebra of Bonatsos and Daskaloyannis, we construct generalised deformed coherent states and investigate some of their quantum optical properties. We then demonstrate a resolution of unity for such states and suggest a way of investigating the geometric effects of the deformation. The formalism devised by Rembielinski et al is used to consider coherent states of the q-boson algebra over the quantum complex plane. We propose a new unitary operator which is a q-analogue of the displacement operator of conventional coherent state theory: This is used to construct q-displaced vacuum states which are eigenstates of the annihilation operator. Some quantum mechanical properties of these states are investigated and it is shown that they formally satisfy a Heisenberg-type minimum uncertainty relation. After briefly reviewing the theory of conventional squeezed states, we examine the various q-generalisations. We propose a q-analogue of the squeezed vacuum state, and use this in conjunction with the unitary q-displacement operator to construct a general q-squeezed state, parameterised by noncommuting variables.. It is shown that, like their conventional counterparts, such states satisfy the Robertson-Schrodinger Uncertainty Relation. We conclude with a brief discussion about the appearance of noncommuting variables in the states that have been considered.
