Abstract

We explore a superconducting charge qubit interacting with a dissipative microwave cavity field. Wigner distribution and its non-classicality are investigated analytically under the effects of the qubit–cavity interaction, the qubit–cavity detuning, and the dissipation. As the microwave cavity field is initially in an even coherent state, we investigate the non-classicality of the Wigner distributions. Partially and maximally frozen entanglement are produced by the qubit–cavity interaction, depending on detuning and cavity dissipation. It is found that the amplitudes and frequency of the Wigner distribution can be controlled by the phase space parameters, the qubit–cavity interaction and the detuning, as well as by the dissipation. The cavity dissipation reduces the non-classicality; this process can be accelerated by the detuning.

Distribution dynamics of fisher and Wigner–Yanase information correlations of two qubits coupled to an open superconducting cavity

F. M. Aldosari, Abdel‐Baset A. Mohamed, Atta Ur Rahman +1 more

In this paper, we explore distribution dynamics of two-qubit Fisher and skew information correlations of a dissipative microwave cavity field interacting with two charged superconducting qubits. Besides the negativity function, non-classical correlations beyond entanglement are studied using local quantum Fisher information (LQFI) and local quantum uncertainty (LQU). We find that the two-qubit non-classical correlations are sensitive to qubit–qubit distribution angle, two-qubit dissipation parameter, and initial coherent state intensity. The phenomena of frozen quantum correlations, sudden death or birth, as well as revival dynamical maps are feasible in the current two-qubit state when exposed to a microwave cavity. The non-classical correlations and entanglement have been found damped under the two-qubit dissipation appearance in the field. For the increasing strength of coherence intensity of the field, the two-qubit non-classical correlations functions remain to emerge quickly and oscillate with higher frequency, although with the least amplitudes. Interestingly, unlike the non-classical correlations, negativity does not emerge against higher coherence strengths of the cavity and remains completely zero. Finally, for the least dissipation and higher coherence strength, one can readily generate non-classical two-qubit states employing a microwave cavity.

Wigner quasi-probability distribution of a resonator coherent field interacting with a flux qubit via two-photon coupling

Laila A. Al‐Essa, Wafa F. Alfwzan, F. M. Aldosari +2 more

The Wigner quasi-probability distribution function is an important tool for estimating the quantumness of quantum states. The Wigner distribution function (WDF) is related monotonically to the coherent field state density operator and their probability distributions. In this paper, we analyze the time-dependent resonator coherent field states produced by a flux qubit’s interaction with a resonator through a two-photon coupling. The WDF dynamics of the coherent field states is investigated under the effects of the qubit-resonator detuning and the intrinsic decoherence. The WDF non-classicality associated with the mixedness resonator entropy dynamics can be controlled by varying the qubit-resonator interaction, detuning as well as the decoherence. The intrinsic decoherence clearly affects the WDF non-classicality, identified by the negative values of the WDF. Finally, by fixing one or both of the complex phase space components, we are able to explore the dynamics of the Wigner-distribution functions.

Influence of the Coupling between Two Qubits in an Open Coherent Cavity: Nonclassical Information via Quasi-Probability Distributions

Abdel‐Baset A. Mohamed, Hichem Eleuch, A.‐S. F. Obada

In this paper, we investigate the dynamics of two coupled two-level systems (or qubits) that are resonantly interacting with a microwave cavity. We examine the effects of the intrinsic decoherence rate and the coupling between the two qubits on the non-classicality of different system partitions via quasi-probability functions. New definitions for the partial Q-function and its Wehrl entropy are used to investigate the information and the quantum coherence of the phase space. The amount of the quantum coherence and non-classicality can be appropriately tuned by suitably adopting the rates of the intrinsic-decoherence and the coupling between the two qubits. The intrinsic decoherence has a pronounced effect on the negativity and the positivity of the Wigner function. The coupling between the two qubits can control the negativity and positivity of the quasi-probability functions.

Quantum coherence in a superconducting circuit coupled with a dissipative cavity field

Shixian Chen, Xiaojie Li, Kaixuan Wu +1 more

Abstract Quantum coherence represents a basic feature of a quantum system that is not present in the classical world. Here, we explore the dynamic behaviors of quantum coherence in two charge qubits who are strongly coupled with a single-mode dissipative cavity field. The results show that quantum coherence is sensitive to the coupled system parameters including qubit dissipation rate, initial qubit distribution angle, and coherent state intensity of the cavity field. Additionally, during the dynamic evolution, quantum coherence behaves periodically in the case of the qubit distribution angle, and this periodicity depends on the qubit dissipation rate. Also, the increasing coherent state intensity of cavity field can enhance the magnitude of quantum coherence, meaning that coherence resource in dissipative solid state quantum system can be controlled to some extent. This controllable coherence resource in engineering applications may quantify the advantage enabled in the superconducting circuit for processing the remarkable quantum information tasks.

Non-classicality of two superconducting-qubits interacting independently with a resonator cavity: trace-norm correlation and Bures-distance entanglement

A.‐B. A. Mohamed, H. A. Hessian

We study the behaviour of the correlation robustness of two spatially isolated charge-qubits started initially with a maximally correlated nonsymmetric Bell-state. Each charged qubit is coupled individually to a superconducting resonator coherent field. The dynamics of the qubit-resonator quantum correlations, based on trace-norm measurement-induced non-locality (MIN) and Bures distance entanglement, are investigated under the effects of the qubit-resonator interactions, intrinsic decoherence, initial coherent intensity cavity as well as of the qubit-resonator detuning. It is found that the trace-norm MIN correlation can be enhanced by the initial coherent field intensity and the detuning. The MIN is more robust, against the qubit-resonator interactions and the decoherence, than the Bures distance entanglement. Furthermore, the correlation robustness analysed for the different cases of the coherent states depends not only on the intrinsic decoherence but also on the coherent states and the qubit-resonator detuning.

Charge Qubit Storage and Its Engineered Decoherence via Microwave Cavity

Gao Yi-Bo, Li Chong

We study the entanglement of the superconducting charge qubit with the quantized electromagnetic field in a microwave cavity. It can be controlled dynamically by a classical external field threading the SQUID within the charge qubit. Utilizing the controllable quantum entanglement, we can demonstrate the dynamic process of the quantum storage of information carried by charge qubit. On the other hand, based on this engineered quantum entanglement, we can also demonstrate a progressive decoherence of charge qubit with quantum jump due to the coupling with the cavity field in quasi-classical state.
