Abstract

We present a scheme with the multiple-induced transparency windows in a hybrid optomechanical device. By studying the transmission of a probe field through the hybrid device, we show the successive generations of three transparent windows induced by multiple factors including tunneling, optomechanical and qubit-phonon coupling interactions, and analyze the physical mechanism of the induced transparency based on a simplified energy-level diagram of the system. Moreover, the effects of the transition frequency and decay rate of the two-level system on the multiple-induced transparency windows are discussed. We find that the transparency windows can be modulated by the coupling interaction between the qubit and NMR, the decay of qubit and the power of the control field. Therefore, the transmission of the probe field can be coherently adjusted in the hybrid cavity optomechanical device with a two-level system.

Optomechanical analog of two-color electromagnetically induced transparency: Photon transmission through an optomechanical device with a two-level system

Hui Wang, Xiu Quan Gu, Yu-xi Liu +2 more

Some optomechanical systems can be transparent to a probe field when a strong driving field is applied. These systems can provide an optomechanical analog of electromagnetically induced transparency (EIT). We study the transmission of a probe field through a hybrid optomechanical system consisting of a cavity and a mechanical resonator with a two-level system (qubit). The qubit might be an intrinsic defect inside the mechanical resonator, a superconducting artificial atom, or another two-level system. The mechanical resonator is coupled to the cavity field via radiation pressure and to the qubit via the Jaynes-Cummings interaction. We find that the dressed two-level system and mechanical phonon can form two sets of three-level systems. Thus, there are two transparency windows in the discussed system. We interpret this effect as an optomechanical analog of two-color EIT (or double EIT). We demonstrate how to switch between one and two EIT windows by changing the transition frequency of the qubit. We show that the absorption and dispersion of the system are mainly affected by the qubit-phonon coupling strength and the transition frequency of the qubit.

Higher-order sideband based on transparent windows in a two-cavity optomechanical system

Ximin Bao, Linyang Liu, Ling Dai +1 more

Abstract We present a scheme to realize the regulation of single and double transparent windows in a two-cavity optomechanical device. By studying the output field through the two-cavity device, we not only show the transmission spectrum of the probe field and the second-order sideband process, but also analyze the physical mechanism of the induced transparency window and the efficiency of the second-order sideband process. Moreover, the optomechanically induced transparency window and the coupling of two cavities resulting in transparency window are discussed. We find that the transparency windows and the second-order sideband process can be modulated by the power of the control field and the coupling strength between two cavities. Our device is feasible for controlling light propagation, which might have potential application in quantum optical devices and quantum information networks.

Multiple optomechanically induced transparency and slow/fast light in a multicavity system with two-level atoms

Tianyu Zhou, Guixia Pan

Abstract We investigate the phenomenon of optomechanically induced transparency assisted by a hybrid two-cavity optomechanical system. The system consists of two optical cavities and four mechanical resonators, and each optical cavity is filled with two-level atomic ensembles. Our study demonstrates that the characteristics of optomechanically induced transparency vary with different coupling parameters. Specifically, the number of transparent windows increases with the introduction of atomic ensembles and Coulomb interaction. Furthermore, the positions of the transparent points can be manipulated by the coupling parameters. It is found that increasing the Coulomb coupling between mechanical oscillators shifts the transparent points further apart. Furthermore, we also explore the slow/fast light effect by analyzing the phase and group delay of the probe field. Our approach enables the control of multiple optomechanically induced transparency and provides potential applications in quantum information processing.

Hybrid spin-optomechanical control of induced transparency in coupled cavity systems

Fatima Kosar, Soma Bashir, Nusrat Riaz +2 more

Abstract Optomechanics has become a very active area of research in recent years and has attracted significant interest in both theoretical and experimental studies. In this work, we theoretically investigate optomechanically induced transparency (OMIT) using a hybrid system consisting of two coupled optical cavities, each interacting with a spin ensemble. The cavities are coherently driven by a strong control field and a weak probe field. We analytically calculate the transmission spectrum of the coupled spin–cavity system and analyze the dynamics of the system. The obtained transmission response shows clear signatures of multi-window OMIT, which arises from coherent interference between the hybridized normal modes. Our results indicate that the presence of spin ensembles in both cavities significantly enhances the transparency behavior and provides additional tunable parameters to control the OMIT windows. In particular, the transmission spectrum and the shape of the transparency profile can be controlled by the spin–cavity interaction and the inter-cavity coupling strength J . Furthermore, the inter-cavity tunneling rate, spin decoherence, and spin–cavity coupling strength strongly influence the transparency properties. Overall, this study highlights the potential of spin-based multi-cavity optomechanical systems for coherent optical control and tunable quantum interference.

Multiple transparency in a multimode quadratic coupling optomechanical system with an ensemble of three-level atoms

Qing He, Fazal Badshah, Rafi Ud Din +3 more

We theoretically investigate a multimode quadratic coupling optomechanical system (OMS) assisted with N cold Λ-type three-level atoms. The coupling interaction between two mechanical membranes (MR1 and MR2) and the cavity is quadratic. The three-level atoms interact with an external controlling field and an internal cavity field. The optical cavity is driven by a strong coupling field and a weak probe field. In the resolved sideband regime, four transparency windows are obtained due to the atomic coherence and quadratic coupling in the absorption spectrum for the suitable choice of the controlling parameters. We analyze how to vary the number of the transparency window dips and to adjust their mutual spacing by changing the controlling parameters such as strength of the quadratic coupling between MR1 (MR2) and the cavity, the collective coupling strength between the atomic ensemble and the cavity field, the Rabi frequency associated with the coupling interaction between the controlling field and the three-level atom, power of the coupling field, different frequencies and decay rates of MR1 (MR2), decay rate of the cavity field, and the environmental temperature. Further, we also demonstrate the normal-mode splitting in the generated Stokes and anti-Stokes field in the OMS, where the changing collective coupling strength affects the splitting width of the output field at the Stokes (anti-Stokes) frequency.

Analog multicolor optomechanically induced transparency in a distant cavity-optomechanical system assisted by a three-level atomic medium

Ruijie Xiao, Guixia Pan, Xiao‐Ming Xiu +1 more

Abstract The multiple optomechanically induced transparency (OMIT) of a compound optomechanical system is studied. The system contains two distant cavities and one of the cavity is filled with a three-level atomic medium. We focus on the number of OMIT windows, which is influenced by the coherent interactions between the system components. We find that four transparency windows can be observed from the output field at the probe frequency. When some of the internal interactions disappear, the number of transparent windows decreases. Moreover, we studied the influence of various factors on OMIT. The results show that the number and the width of the transparent windows are affected by the classical driving power, the coupling strength (between cavity field and atoms or between the two cavities), as well as the Rabi frequency. Our study provides a great flexibility for phonon storage and has potential applications in quantum information processing.
