Abstract

We investigate the influences of non-Markovian dissipation and global dephasing process on the dynamical behaviors of global discord among four qubits. We find that for the non-Markovian dissipation model W state is the most robust to decoherence compared to Dicke and GHZ states;however, for the global dephasing model Dicke state is the most robust to decoherence among them. Also the dynamical behaviors of global quantum discord are quite different from that of the multipartite entanglement for the non-Markovian dissipation model, while they are very similar to each other for the global dephasing model.

DYNAMICS OF QUANTUM CORRELATIONS IN TWO-QUBIT SYSTEMS WITHIN NON-MARKOVIAN ENVIRONMENTS

Rosario Lo Franco, Bruno Bellomo, Sabrina Maniscalco +1 more

Knowledge of the dynamical behavior of correlations with no classical counterpart, like entanglement, nonlocal correlations and quantum discord, in open quantum systems is of primary interest because of the possibility to exploit these correlations for quantum information tasks. Here we review some of the most recent results on the dynamics of correlations in bipartite systems embedded in non-Markovian environments that, with their memory effects, influence in a relevant way the system dynamics and appear to be more fundamental than the Markovian ones for practical purposes. Firstly, we review the phenomenon of entanglement revivals in a two-qubit system for both independent environments and a common environment. We then consider the dynamics of quantum discord in non-Markovian dephasing channel and briefly discuss the occurrence of revivals of quantum correlations in classical environments.

Dynamics of coherence under Markovian and non-Markovian environments

Zhongxiao Wang, Teng Ma, Shuhao Wang +2 more

The behavior of quantum coherence is studied under Markovian and non-Markovian dynamics for open quantum systems. For single qubit systems, we show that the coherence depending on the off-diagonal elements of the density matrix is the upper bound of the coherence depending on the relative entropy under both Markovian and non-Markovian processes. For two-qubit systems, in both Markovian and non-Markovian processes, quantum discord and coherence show less sensitivity to the initial state than quantum entanglement. We also find that the quantum discord has similar behaviors with coherence under both Markovian and non-Markovian dynamics.

Dynamics of entanglement and non-classical correlation for four-qubit GHZ state

Pakhshan Espoukeh, Robabeh Rahimi, S. Salimi +1 more

Many-qubit entanglement is crucial for quantum information processing although its exploitation is hindered by the detrimental effects of the environment surrounding the many-qubit system. It is thus of importance to study the dynamics of general multipartite non-classical correlation, including but not restricted to entanglement, under noise. We did this study for four-qubit Greenberger–Horne–Zeilinga (GHZ) state under most common noises in an experiment and found that non-classical correlation is more robust than entanglement except when it is imposed to dephasing channel. Quantum discord presents a sudden transition in its dynamics for Pauli-X and Pauli-Y noises as well as Bell-diagonal states interacting with dephasing reservoirs and it decays monotonically for Pauli-Z and isotropic noises.

Quantum discord dynamics of the GHZ state in Markovian environments

Dan Xue, Ming-Qiang Bai, Liang Tang +2 more

In quantum mechanics, quantum discord is a valuable quantum resource. As a generalization of the initial quantum discord, the multipartite quantum discord (MQD) exhibits excellent properties in the complete monogamy relation. In this paper, the dynamics of MQD are investigated for the Greenberger–Horne–Zeilinger (GHZ) state in Markovian environments. More specifically, it indicates that MQD of the GHZ state drops significantly over time in the depolarizing noise channel. Interestingly, quantum decoherence has no influence on MQD of the GHZ state in the Pauli channel [Formula: see text]. Subsequently, the analytical formulas of MQD are derived with six parameters in the Pauli channels [Formula: see text] and [Formula: see text], respectively. This is conducive to more efficient use of the GHZ state for various quantum tasks.

Post Markovian Dynamics of Quantum Correlations: Entanglement vs. Discord

Hamidreza Mohammadi

Dynamics of an open two-qubit system is investigated in the post-Markovian regime, where the environments have a short-term memory. Each qubit is coupled to separate environment which is held in its own temperature. The inter-qubit interaction is modeled by XY-Heisenberg model in the presence of spin-orbit interaction and inhomogeneous magnetic field. The dynamical behavior of entanglement and discord has been considered. The results show that, quantum discord is more robust than quantum entanglement, during the evolution. Also the asymmetric feature of quantum discord can be monitored by introducing the asymmetries due to inhomogeneity of magnetic field and temperature difference between the reservoirs. By employing proper parameters of the model, it is possible to maintain non-vanishing quantum correlation at high degree of temperature. The results can provide a useful recipe for studying of dynamical behavior of two-qubit systems such as trapped spin-electrons in coupled quantum dots.
